The John Terry Appreciation Thread

Featured Replies

Conte was intelligent enough to see that Terry will still provide so much to the club through his leadership and his ability as a defender.

It was clearly a no-brainer that he would stay and Conte merely reconfirmed what we were all thinking.

If he was then it would be a great way to get fans on side early on.

Not only that but it would mean we haven't forced a player on him that he might not necessarily want, and he has enough confidence and clout with the board to keep JT.

Great news, well done JT !

Reports are saying he has taken a 90k / week cut and snubbed lucrative deals in China, hats off JT !

The Sun are reporting he's taken a 100k per week cut to stay.

What a man.

Taking a 100k per week pay cut isn't a big deal when you're making 150k. Or at least it shouldn't be if you have common sense in terms of personal finance.

I think he was on 150k before, so this would bring him down to 50-60 which is very reasonable and appropriate in my opinion. I'm thrilled that he and the board were able to both see it that way.

How far along is he in his UEFA coaching badges? It takes 5 years to complete all the levels.

I totally disagree but at the end of the day he's staying, and that's all that really matters.

You cannot ever question his commitment and he has nothing to prove but I reckon next year JT's going to roll back the years and start playing like a 24 year old again just like Zola did in his last year.

He's wants the club to be in a stronger position before he leaves.

Anyone follow JT in Instagram? Not quite sure what to think of his posts.... Sort of awkward some of the posts... Today he is doing push-ups on a beach...

He's the best Chelsea player on social media, gives you a genuine insight into the life of a professional footballer.

From Instagram I understand it involves being on a yacht a lot. Are his kids free from school already?

He shows his chest alot and some unknown character takes pictures of him and the wife. Maybe it is the general style of portraying himself that puts me off a bit. Anyway, not a big deal.

Love JT. The first yard being in the head, with top coaching under Conte, Terry could be a revelation next season imo. Cahill and Zouma can continue their tutelage under him too.

Shows how a real professional footballer should act like. He gets ready for the season and I like it.

Probably.. A bit.. How do I say.. Forced. He is 35 and probably not the most savvy when it comes to insta and such.
