The John Terry Appreciation Thread

Featured Replies

John Terry - "Everyone knows I'm Chelsea through and through," said the ex-England skipper.

"I am looking forward to next season under the new manager and hopefully we can make it a successful one."

Chairman Bruce Buck said: "We are delighted John will spend another year at the club. He has been the leader of the Chelsea squad throughout the most successful period in our history. He recently reached the 700-appearance mark, which is testament to his professionalism and dedication as well as his undoubted talent."

Director Marina Granovskaia added: "We look forward to another year with John at the club, and believe he will be an important figure in the dressing room and on the pitch as we look to bring success back to the club next season."

f**kING YYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

*ahem* I'm pretty damn happy with this news today! Best thing that's happened all season. We're hanging on to a little bit of Chelsea for next year.

Shame it took the club so long to recognise his value, but im glad they saw sense in the end. And JT once again showing his commitment to the club. Contract offered, considered and signed within a week. Proper Chels!

Drogba spends a lot of his money in his home country, doesn't he? Perhaps JT wants to start a charity ofhis own and needs to fill the coffers.

The people who think "he has enough money" should remember it's JT's business, none of ours.

Precisely Val, it really bugs me when people say it's greed or he's a millionaire numerous times over etc etc.

I work in a job where I speak to millionaires fairly offen and its all relative. What seems like a fortune to us, isnt to them. There was a saying I used to get told when I was younger 'you spend what you earn'.

I have to admit in a playing career of 20 years or so max, I would find it difficult to turn down 4 times the salary for my last 2 or 3 years working, whether you like it or not that is incredibly good extra financial security.

As others have said whether you think JT or any other footballer should already be financially secure it irrelevant, we don't know their living costs.

Anyway,, he's signed and that's the most important thing! Now we can look forward to next season with no stress & hopefully this isn't the last contract signing this summer!!

captain, leader, legend!

And the sh*t from The Lane have won f**k all again and JOHN TERRY HAS WON THE DOUBLE

Fantastic news, cheered in the office when I saw it.

LOL just been singing that to my son to stop him crying! He's only 2 but he's got good taste!

Absolutely made up with this news.

if these players are intelligent with their money and invest smartly, there's no reason why they cannot a good financially stable lifestyle until old age. We hear so many stories of footballers and other athletes squandering their money away only to file for bankruptcy and be pretty desolate. john has been on, what, 150-200k a week for many years now, right? if so, he SHOULD be in a position where money isn't an issue and he can still live an extremely privileged life without work. take away taxes and other payments, these guys have no reason to ever be in financial trouble.

I'm sitting here with a big grin on my face!

I've just collapsed in relief.

But as somone has already posted: see you this time next year.
