Ramires - anyone else frustrated?

Featured Replies

Getting 25 million for him apparantly. Excellent business by the club if so. Just hope RLC takes his "spot" in the squad and we don't waste it on some other mediocre player.

China?!?

he's 28..... as average as i think he is, surely there is a decent team in europe who would take him on?

bizarre.

At the wages he was getting here who would take hin on? None of the teams that can afford him would want him. If we got 25 million for him thats a helluva deal

If we do get £25m for him that's a cracking bit of business.

Would love for RLC to be given more chances until the end of the season to show the new incoming manager what he can do before we go splashing the cash on new signings.

Didn't he just sign a new contract?? :/

I think to increase his valuation.  I quite liked him, he had energy and speed and scored some good goals........but he was rather short in the passing department.   I could name some others I'd move out before him but 25mill is good business.

IF we get 25mil for him, and then go and get Alex Teixeira, I wouldn't be against it. Ramires has been a good servant, but that would be an excellent deal.

25mill from a club in China? Believe it when I see it.

Chinese clubs have been throwing around money for years, so it wouldn't surprise me.

As for Ramires, all the best if he does leave. 25 million is a great deal for a player of his calibre.

I'm amazed that he's served with us for so long, because it was like yesterday when Carlo signed him. In 2011-12 he was one of our best players (albeit in a weak squad) and the chip against Barcelona was sublime.

Weird deal if true.

Agent Petrescu is the manager at Jiangsu Suning, so he'd be doing Chelsea a favour (financial) and he would get a very good player.

Whoever negotiated £25mil for that piece of dead wood deserves a pay rise. That being said, he's been a useful utility player and I'll never forget his goal at the Nou Camp. Best of luck.

Remember Drogba and Anelka went to China and then had to leave because their club couldn't afford to pay them any more?  I'd be a little hesitant to get too excited about rumours of Chinese clubs signing any of our players

so weird

find it hard to imagine that no team in europe would be interested in him. if he is told that his future at chelsea will be limited to a seat on the bench, then i find it unfathomable that he wouldnt accept a slight pay cut to go and play for a decent team in italy, germany or spain.

perhaps money talks and this move to china represents a massive hike in his wages. a previous poster did however mention that drogs and anelka ended up leaving china over pay disputes, i wouldnt be surprised to see ramires re-surfacing in europe after an ill-fated 18 month spell out east

if 25m is actually a legitimate figure that is being touted then i would be snapping their hands off for it and packing his bags for him. a loyal member of the squad and has been involved in some good times at chelsea, but its time to move him on and clear out some squad positions that could be adequately filled by any number of our promising talents that are currently stagnating on loan / in the reserves.

Something of a contradiction there surely ?   Personally I agree with the second option.

On Talk****e this afternoon they were saying a possible move to China for around £20m, incredible price if we can get it.
