Actually the powers that be are desperate for any academy player to break through, its the managers who are under constant pressure to win that really couldnt give a sh*t as. They are gone in 2-3 seasons anyway so they arent going to sacrifice short term success over long term development. But its quite clear seing how the board operates during the transfer window that they would like more youngsters to get a shot and they would rather loan them out to get experience then have then rot on the bench.

Then the powers that be need to hire a coach that will either trust youth players or tell them they won't be sacked if you integrate.

Reckon he could fit in well at Barca if he leaves.

Hmmm - a goal and a half-decent performance against a piss-poor Forest side in the league cup means the lad is ready for Barcelona?  yeah right!

Look at this bigger picture. Look at his dominance at youth levels, his comfort at Betis first year round. Barca have Deulofeu playing for them, Charly would fit right in.

I mean, look at the hype Odegaard got before his Real move. Charly has achieved much more than him.

All the big clubs will be after him if he wants to leave.

The same powers that be who hired a coach that delivered a leage title that no-one was expecting in his first season ?

A coach who sees the players day in day out in traning and know a lot more about his development and attitude than a few lads on the internet, thats for sure.

No one has disputed anything you have just said 'lad'. We clearly hire managers to deliver in the short term not build a squad for 5 years down the line. Conte will be gone within the next two years and Musonda will likely be shining like KdB at another top team. His talent is evident, we're just bound to waste it like so many before him.

Utter nonsense.

It’s been 3 games since Forest, did he really expect to start against City and Madrid?

and how bad was willian against city? this club needs to be a meritocracy, if you play badly you get benched. Musonda's last performance was better than Willian's last performance, therefore he should be ahead in the pecking order. I don't agree with him speaking out publicly but the fact is Willian should not be ahead of him in the pecking order after a terrible performance against city.

Sorry does not work like that, & if you was a manager that worked along those lines you be in dole office more than the managers office.

Giving playing time to a player on the fringes who has recently outperformed another player getting inconsistent first team minutes. I think that is how progressive management works actually.

It staggering how many people seem to think Musonda should be a instant first choice because he had a half decent (and no more) game against Nottingham Forest. Im not denying that Willian isnt playing well (he isnt) but it reminds me of when Katuka came on an played well for 20 mins when we were 4:0 against someone years ago. People on here demanded he be an instant first team player ahead of more established, experienced players. Its just unrealistic.

At this stage of the season Musonda would do well to keep working hard and keep his head down. If its still the same come May, then sure, he can have a good think about things. But acting Billy Big Bollocks after one game against a poor outfit is just crazy. Seems to be the way with many youngsters now sadly. Its very clear he has some way to go, look at the size of him for starters. Makes Josh Mceachran looks like Hulk Hogan.

His outburst is undefendable imo. Its so childish its untrue. Wont do him any favors at all.

The first thing he should be doing today is getting himself some proper advisors.

Silly sod.

so a player shouldn't be rewarded with more game time for outperforming their competition? Strange.

Exactly, but because a player has done well in the past he gets priority. Hence our failure in our youth system. Unless you think making money out of it qualifies as being successful. How can we have ‘the best youth set up’ and their successes prove that. Yet they don’t progress into our first team. I’m baffled.

His post was poor no doubt.

If he doesn't get a chance to start it is impossible for him prove or earn a start. it's a catch 22 situation.

If he does well with a few cameos, or games against lower league oppositions, his performances will be down played due to the quality of the opposition, or the importance of the game.

Is he going to have to wait until we have 3 of hazard, fabregas, Willian, and pedro unavailable to force the managers hand?

What had Mbappe done before he was given a run in the team ahead of club captain Germaine?

Yes he hasn't earned a start, but what inexperienced footballer does? I honestly think the biggest problem for us, is that if mbappe came through our academy, he wouldn't have made his full debut for us.

Hopefully the relationship between player and club isn't broken beyond repair and we see musonda get a chance here. If he doesn't then it really is poor for the academy, that one of their best products, if not the best, has been deemed not good enough start the odd premier league game.

KdB was rubbish in the cup against poor opposition therefore didn't deserve a chance in our starting 11.

Charly was good in the cup against poor opposition therefore doesn't deserve a chance in our starting 11.

What exactly DOES a youngster need to do to get a start at Chelsea?

They need to prove themselves in the champions league by age 20 by the looks of it!

That would work if he actually was outperforming his competition.

Sorry, but imo he hasn't done anything yet to warrant a first team start ahead of willian, pedro or hazard. And posting a social media post like that is quite poor as a sporting professional.

What does anyone do to ever warrant a start though?

I think the pure fact that he is ours, young, committed and extremely talented is absolutely enough to give game time to.  That's why you get young players.

Quite a petulant thing to do.

Needs to grow up a bit by the sounds of it.

Seem's to be a very common thing with this generations Belgium players. They seem to talk a lot of crap during international breaks.

To be honest, this post might be actually a little bit right because the way we use our youngsters is wrong. But what he did is not going to change the situation, can become only worse. If he is looking to work hard for his place, then he has to do it by himself, he doesn't need the public for this. Wasn't a smart action by him, doesn't matter if he was talking about Belguim or Chelsea. Also posting it just before Crystal Palace game is stupid, this game actually can be for him.

It's not easy to be a youngster Chelsea, in my opinion, we have one of the best prospects from our academy that we will lose if we won't bring him back and play (Loftus-Cheek).

He always can speak with Conte, see where he need improvements, stick to the teammates and stay professional. This post is not necessarily.

Maybe he was told he won't be starting the Palace match and he is none too pleased.

And Odegaard has played about 15 minutes in 4 years for them...

I've said this before, there seems to be a lot of gobsh*tes Belgian players, this happens every time it's an international week.

Regardless of his talent posting like that on social media is embarrassing. What does he expect to happen now? Just shows him to be petulant and a tad arrogant too.

He had one good game against a championship side and now expects to walk into the side ahead of proven internationalist with hundreds of top flight games under their belts?

Silly boy
