The Chronicles of Brendan 'Cringe Worthy' Rodgers

Featured Replies

Rodgers doesn't sound natural when he speaks. He sounds like he's trying to sound impressive and (as he would see it) trying to create sound-bites.

After the Palace game he sounded more natural, imo. It was a simple 'we're in the sh*t and I accept responsibility' message.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says skipper Steven Gerrard is the best player he has worked with.

Gerrard, 34, who retired from England duty this summer, has been criticised for his performances  this season.

Liverpool have lost four consecutive games, are 12th in the Premier League and are struggling to reach the knockout stage of the Champions League.

But Rodgers said: "Gerrard is still a wonderful player. The best I have worked with."

Deluded.....doesn't say much for the rest of the team either. Just the boost to confidence they need before they go down in Bulgaria.

Well prior to Liverpool we's worked with CHelsea reserves, Watford, Reading and Swansea. So it's quite possible Gerrard is one of the best he's worked with. Which just goes to show how few good players he's worked with.

Big night tonight for Rodgers and LFC. He was quoted in today's press as saying that LFC need wins, even unattractive wins. Radio 5 quoted Grobbelaar as giving Rodgers three weeks to turn the season around. Roy Evans, on the same station, seemed to suggest that Rodgers had more than three weeks and made the point that Rodgers was catching all the flak when some should be directed at the players.

LFC need a respectable showing this evening.

It feels to me that Rodgers and LFC may be getting to that stage where events go out of a person's control.

I don't give a f**k what they need. Work has made me very grumpy, so my need is bigger: a horrible night for the dippers.

I sense anger. I think that sense is based on your not giving a f**k about what the dippers need...

How bad was your day?

I hope you can put it aside and enjoy Liverpool being put to the sword.

An accumulation of setbacks, missed deadlines and annoying colleagues expecting the impossible made me very intolerant to anything in red   Well, at least they conceded an equaliser in the final minutes. That cheered me up

Brendan is a comedy goldmine at the moment.

"More like it. Wonderful character tonight. We really needed a team that was together and we got that. The characterisation of the team was really on show. Great effort tonight from the players. We were outstanding.

We spoke before the game about this being the night to change our season. We showed wonderful resilience, kept our focus in the game and scored two good goals.

I picked players who I know what they're capable of. In time the new players will adapt to how we work but we've set a standard here - and we were very good tonight.

Overall the performance was very, very pleasing."

"This is a real confidence boost for us."

There's just too much to pick over there. That's an insane assessment of their performance yesterday.

"character"? Is that what you call it when you throw away a lead a few minutes from time?

"Good goals"? Their first goal was 90% caused by terrible Ludogrets defending where both the defender and keeper left the ball for a tap in.

"Very pleasing performance"? They were outplayed for large portions of the match by one of the worst teams in the competition.

By conitnually spouting the same brand of sh*te, he's trying to accomplish two things at once. The first is an attempt to justify and safeguard his position as manager; the second is to keep the likes of this twat at bay:

Had to google that to check it was genuine. Absolutely staggering.

The man is a fraud. His naive tactics worked when he had Luis Suarez bailing him out but without him they simply don't have the presence up front to keep other teams honest and get the goals to win games. They're not conceding goals at a vastly increased rate over last season, they're simply not scoring close to as many.

He's the David Brent of football managers. He's all soundbites and no substance.

He's trying to magnify any positives out of the game, wouldn't be surprised he calls Mingloet world class if he manages to keep a clean shirt in the next few weeks.

And insist that he should start over Tibo in the NT...BAHAHAHAHAHAA

His 'shirt' is usually clean after a match anyway, unfortunately. I would say that it's the sheets that are the problem but it doesn't sound quite right.
