He was 33 i believe, i was just stating when young he was rapid, where Frank wasn't, but they both knew how to score loads of goals

those minutes that RLC was given, should be what gives him motivation, but i'm yet to see him 'Bust a gut' which he really has to, he wants to really leave his mark when he gets a chance, he sometimes just looks so laconic, rather like Sturridge in attitude

 

I know it’s still early days, but I was disappointed by him yesterday.

He had about 20 minutes to make a real difference and show Sarri why he should be ahead of Barkley and Kovacic, but I don’t even remember a single thing he’s done.

Hopefully Sarri will have a word with him and tell him to play for fun, rather than playing safe.

I like RLC but he just doesn’t show enough or make an impact. Perhaps it’s a confidence thing but he seems scared to really take the game. He won’t make it unless he changes.

My thoughts exactly. 

I remember how good Josh McEachran looked in 2009-2011 and honestly, he was one of the best youth players I've ever seen at that age. And now you look at him I think he's playing in the Championship. For me he's a bit too static, he doesn't really do enough with the ball, nothing really comes out of his play, and I don't see great work rate on top of his skill and ball retention. 

But I'm still for giving him more game time to see what he can conjure up.

Think that's a bit harsh. We were on autopilot when he came on. Don't think he could've done much personally.

I wonder sometimes what some people expect RLC to do. He seems to get hyper analysed every time he makes even the shortest of appearances. Do you want him to sprint around the field like a headless chicken? Or do a Gerrard and shoot from stupid distances every time he gets the ball?

Players shouldn't follow tactical instructions and should come on and score a hat trick and make 100 passes in a 20 minute cameo, didn't you know? 

Yes but 20 minutes cameos are all he’s going to get this season, barring any injuries. With Kovacic coming in, he’s going to be even further down the pecking order.

I just want to see him do well.

Could you imagine us selling him to a top 6 rival ? That's the acid test.

Hopefully he stays and gets play time as we have plenty of games this season for every player to get play time. I would be disappointed to see him being loaned put again, just like i was devastated when we sold Chalobah and Ake.

I feel kovacic won't necessarily play with Kante and jorginho. So Barkley and RLC will be main contenders for the number 10 role.

Has apparently rejected a loan move to Schalke and has stated he wants to stay and fight for his place.

I disagree, its good to see a young player back his own ability and have faith in himself, rather than just throw in the towel and leave.

The problem is, we never show much faith in our youth. McEachran got a bit of a chance when he was here and Christensen had a part to play last season but looks to be losing his spot now.

RLC obviously wants regular football and, quite frankly deserves it. If he thinks he is going to get that here then good luck to him.

I'm not so sure. I think this is Barkley's season to shine! 

Whilst it's nice he's showing fight, I think ultimately he would be better off leaving. That said, I don't think he would get into Schalke's midfield anyway so probably best he stays put for now.

Unless there is an injury we don't know about he will be quite upset about this and his role looks like it will be restricted to League Cup/Europa League appearances.

A shame but a transfer request in January is a certainty if he continues to be overlooked for the Premier League.

Should have let him go back to Palace for the season.

I honestly can’t think of a single moment where he has made an impact on the game. I’m not bashing him but he needs to show more fight and leave a mark on the game.

Kovacic did more in 30 minutes than I've ever seen RLC do. It's frustrating because the talent is there but he never seems to pull it together in a Chelsea shirt.

What is he going to gain by going back to Crystal Palace? Personally I don’t feel the club has figured out its loan policy, and it is weird loaning an international footballer from a Top 7 nation out. It is rumoured that the club was demanding a £10m loan fee for him From Crystal Palace, which probably means he is rated around the £30m. That price is never going to increase by going out on loan, so if he isn’t good enough for a squad place then sell him. I’d rather we sold him off at a low fee with a buyback/sell-on clause instead of our pointless loan policy.
