I've forgotten the aerial presence he has on the pitch...

When he came on I text my friend "at this point, Ruben offers nothing in a front 3, but he's about a foot taller than Pulisic, so hopefully he can pitch in on set pieces"

not too long after that, he cleared a cross on the near post.... there ya go...

I'm glad he's back and getting time on the pitch. We just need to obviously temper our expectations for the rest of this season.

Haven't watched the game yesterday, but I was happy to see him getting an assist.

By the way, how was his performance? Coming in the 65th minute is good for him. 25 minutes to play and win the game.

That assist hasnt been given enough credit, chipped at waist height to take out both defenders and weighted to perfection. We have seen so many players try to play that on the ground and its been cut out. On his way back for sure.

You're right here, definitely not enough credit for the through-ball. I think it's because Ruben makes it look so easy that fans don't realise the technical ability needed to pull off a pass like that.

It was very clever, the kind of pass that marks him out as a player above the standard.

Best he's looked since coming back. He was in his favored CM position on the left. He was having several of those Ruben-esque long runs with the ball into space and one of them ended with Tammy's goal.

Very encouraging

When Ruben's on form he's essentially just a better version of Barkley in almost every way

Thought he was the second best player in the squad to finish the season last year. I'd love to get a full season of a fit, mature Ruben Loftus-Cheek

That's quite disrespectful to Barkley especially right now. I simply don't feel any positive energy from Loftus even at his best. He is super indifferent no matter what happens around him.

Ross has by far a greater potential to be a leader. Which is important thing in football. Anyway, we have the freaking Azpilicueta captain and lots of people are happy with it so who knows..

When he is on form he by far our best player bar none.

Though Pulisic and Moint carry on as they have been and he will have competition for that.

RLC problem has always been staying fit. If he can do that he is top, top quality.

Off the current lot Dave is easily the best choice...

Barkley isn't fit to lace RLC's boots.

Yeah he's the real deal... But as you said, only when fit.

He seems to be back from injury now and its going well, but if there is another big injury before the end of the season which puts him out for months again, i would rather just sell him, because he has become so unreliable.

  • 2 weeks later...

Still has tons to prove for me, injury came at a bad time but he needs to kick on next season and not get the niggling injuries if he is to cement a place in the team.
