When he came on I text my friend "at this point, Ruben offers nothing in a front 3, but he's about a foot taller than Pulisic, so hopefully he can pitch in on set pieces" not too long after that, he cleared a cross on the near post.... there ya go... I'm glad he's back and getting time on the pitch. We just need to obviously temper our expectations for the rest of this season.
July 4, 20206 yr Starting to look like himself. Nice game for him to come into, i think the end of the season will come at the wrong time for him.
July 4, 20206 yr Should of have had a goal. Think we will need to be patient with him and CHO, they need to find some rhythm again.
July 5, 20206 yr He could score there, but his performance was much better, he looked more lively, more confident. Third goal started by him in a short space with a small pass to Pulisic.
July 5, 20206 yr I think RLC is looking better too and was unlucky not to score with the cross just being behind. If he can stay fit to the end of the season he might just provide a bit of magic.
July 5, 20206 yr He looks much better in midfield and he is starting to find the rhythm. Exciting times ahead of us with him I think.
July 8, 20206 yr That assist hasnt been given enough credit, chipped at waist height to take out both defenders and weighted to perfection. We have seen so many players try to play that on the ground and its been cut out. On his way back for sure.
July 8, 20206 yr Haven't watched the game yesterday, but I was happy to see him getting an assist. By the way, how was his performance? Coming in the 65th minute is good for him. 25 minutes to play and win the game.

I think it's because Ruben makes it look so easy that fans don't realise the technical ability needed to pull off a pass like that.
July 8, 20206 yr Gotta say I'm impressed of his return. It's good to have him and Ross playing well at the same time.

July 8, 20206 yr Unreal pass, compare that to what Barkley did twice against Leicester in that position. He's a quality player.

He was having several of those Ruben-esque long runs with the ball into space and one of them ended with Tammy's goal. Very encouraging

I simply don't feel any positive energy from Loftus even at his best. He is super indifferent no matter what happens around him. Ross has by far a greater potential to be a leader. Which is important thing in football. Anyway, we have the freaking Azpilicueta captain and lots of people are happy with it so who knows..

Though Pulisic and Moint carry on as they have been and he will have competition for that. RLC problem has always been staying fit. If he can do that he is top, top quality.

He seems to be back from injury now and its going well, but if there is another big injury before the end of the season which puts him out for months again, i would rather just sell him, because he has become so unreliable.
July 21, 20205 yr https://link.chelseafc.com/KIervtyQi8 Here's a link from The 5th Stand, Chelsea FC's official app: The inside story of Ruben's return Such a lovely lad Ruben is. Very nice talk between him and Lee. Can't wait to see him thrive. If anyone deserves it it is Ruben.

July 21, 20205 yr Still has tons to prove for me, injury came at a bad time but he needs to kick on next season and not get the niggling injuries if he is to cement a place in the team.
