Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23

Featured Replies

Next season i think we can judge him better, but he's got to be given the games to impress. Why risk £26 million on him if you're not going to start the guy ? Surely we could have got someone to play the same amount of games for less money, at this point one of our youth players look like a better option.

I think Victor Moses could've done the job ffs

He just looks unsure and timid, wanting too much time as well.

Noticed he was celebrating as energetically while on the bench and the time he lost the ball, he chased back very quickly to help recover it. Also flew in to try to block the Arnautovic shot.

There was one moment where he played a one-two but the final ball wasn't there. Other than that and the missed chance, it wasn't that great.

If nothing else, I think the enthusiasm from the bench is a good indicator of his mentality. Hopefully it translates into some serious work from him over the summer - maybe some bulking up in the gym as Gem is advocating as well.

After watching him playing against stoke, I think he can be an asset to the team. I think he needs more time. I can tell he gets nervous when on the ball which after a few it matches shouldn't be a problem.

This may sound simple, but that's because I am. Bale, apparently is unhappy living in Spain, a culture shock. Imagine how Cuadrado and others must feel. I thought how cold and uncomfortable Costa looked on the bench only for him to suffer his injury again. What these men must go through mentally and physically is beyond me.

Who the f**k are these twats saying "he needs a pre-season"?

Did he not have a pre-season at Fiorentina?

Did he come to us unfit, having played 24 games in Serie A?

Let's face it, he's at top of his game, coming off a sh*t-hot World Cup - and he cannot cope with the Premier League.

I forget the exact minute, 89 or something, but some Stoke orc absolutely raped him and he went down crying ... that doesn't cut it in this league son.

So far, he's been utter garbage

Delightful.

Two players who came mid season and looked like a couple of clowns were Vidic and Evra - both of whom went on to become key players for their team. I recall reading Evra's experience in particular, mentioning the massive deal the pace and physicality of the Prem was. Was in shock and spent a lot of time working on himself to adapt.

(Post is redundant. Point mentioned by Bobby already I see.)

Twats? Very classy

You obviously know nothing about football, a pre sesson with Chelsea, the staff, the players etc is what's needed. If I had a pre season at Sheff Utd then signed for Barcelona it wouldn't be the same would it?

Maybe a good pre-season and having the time to settle could make all the difference, but I can't help but think we are clutching at straws. We should have seen at least something by now but he has looked totally out of his depth in the PL.

He will need to hit the ground running come August as the excuses will have run out by then.

If he'd been playing consistently then maybe we would have seen something but he's in and out with cameo appearances.

The best thing Cuadrado did yesterday was keep Ivan in his RB position (for the most part) I don't think he made a meaningful pass or took anyone on. He really needs to pull something out of his locker soon.

Don't think he done anything meaningful since he came here. Out of his depth and he knows it. He's nervous when he gets the ball and tries short intricate passing which seems to comes natural to Hazard, Fabragas, Oscar, Willian etc and fails miserably. When trying to take players on defenders just brush him aside. Had a good chance yesterday to get his Chelsea career going and although his first attempt was decent he should have buried the second. Just can't see any positives.

dunno what people expect. plenty of south americans go down easily, including the women (jk!) and not just in this league. people need to chill out and give him a chance; stop being so damn impatient. i wish him and courtois wouldnt' keep getting made out to be scapegoats for our sh*t performances because there's more experienced players in that squad who have had 10x more appearances and provide nothing to our offensive play.

i could even throw drogba in there too, as he isn't a beast any more and looks a shadow every time he plays but seems immune of criticism, then there's the brazilians (barring luis) who should be getting constant stick and rightfully so! costa hasn't exactly been a world beater this last few weeks (or even months) and ivanovic is another one, but no, everyone wants to blame the new guy who has had hardly any f**king appearances.

there are about 5 players who deserve more criticism before cuadrado does!

Drogba is immune to criticism? What!? He gets criticised every time he plays.

Yes and very upsetting I find it too. Drogba may well not be his former self, but his back catalogue is something else, 2012!

Drogba, Ivanovic, Oscar and Willian have had plenty of criticism so i don't know what you are talking about there. And Courtois and Cuadrado aren't being made scapegoats for bad performances, we didn't even play bad yesterday. Courtois has received criticism for the last 2 games because he has made 2 mistakes in 2 games, how is that ALWAYS making him the scapegoat ? Before then he was getting a lot of praise and many people had him in their top 3 players of the season.

Cuadrado isn't being made a scapegoat either, people just don't think he is good enough.

I don't really see why you think Costa should get criticism either, he's played 35 games for us this season ( even though he has had hamstring problems all season ) and has 20 goals, he is averaging better than a goal every other game.

You of all people shouldn't be complaining about people lacking patience when during the match yesterday you were constantly moaning about how you thought we were playing bad when we were actually playing ok.

He looks to me like a player coming into a ridiculously pressured situation and is trying not to make mistakes first and foremost, whether under instruction or his own nerves. To decide he's not good enough already and he should be sold is unbelievable.
