I'll be very sad if he does go, he is, imho, exciting, but needs better around him.

i'm a bit torn on this. if he goes it wouldn't bother me too much, but then it will also be tough to get a top striker in summer with the position we are in.

Not sure. With no champions league football next season it could happen. Could be him, cesc and hazard out the door.

Next season will be crucial, provided we don't relegated this term ( could still happen). If we let go Costa, Hazard etc, I can't see how we could get back into the top 4. I'm sure some players want to leave, just hope the board/manager could convince them to put in that one extra year to get us back in there top 4. Once we get back into the CL, they may not want to go after all.

In his first season, despite the hamstring problems he scored twenty league goals.

Apart from Drogba I think he's the first striker since Jimmy Floydd Hasselbaink to do that.

Despite his bad start to the season he's still close to a one in two goal ratio.

I think we'd regret letting him leave personally.

only striker right now who i would replace costa for would be lewandowski. if costa wants to leave though then we're buggered.

well we would have a lot of money available if a few leave, so why not chuck a load of money at bayern for lewandowski? there's rumblings he may leave in teh summer so i say go for it and see what happens. 

Maybe. But i don't see us being able to compete with Real Madrid and ManCity for him. Not only because of no CL but they can also offer him a higher salary. And Guardiola at City.

 

I just dream of us somehow, by some miracle of biblical proportions go on to win CL this season as that would solve so much.

Would love to keep Costa but if he really wants to leave then there's no point keeping an unhappy player granted we get a good price for him

 

Not too many options about for replacements though. Higuain would be an option but would be quite expensive, Icardi, Morata and Lacazette are other options 

 

Higuain would likely hit the ground running, especially with his form this season. 25 goals in 27 games so far. We would need someone to start hitting the back of the net straight away if we want to get back into the top 4

In my opinion, Smalling is the best defender in the league this season and Diego just did well against him. Real fighter, didn't give up, love him!
