Tammy Abraham

I know what you're saying, he does have to get some goals against the top 6, for us to achieve the top 6. it's ten games out of 38, almost 25% of our season, so we need results against them too.

If i said to you at the start of the season Tammy would score 25-30 goals, but none against city, lvpool, spuds, ars, man u. Would you have been happy ?

For a 20(?) year old striker in his first season with Chelsea i'd be overjoyed. I think he has it in his locker to do that, i just think we need someone who can do it against the 'big' teams now that Eden is gone. Costa would have been that man back in the day.

To be expecting him to be scoring against the top two clubs in Europe (on last seasons CL form) and man city, in his first season, it's a merit to Tammys rise that you set the bar so high.

True. I was hesitant going into the season about his all-round game, but his hold up and link up play is actually very good. Can't think of who we could have realistically signed in summer (without the ban) who would have been a better fit in the team at the moment.

Fantastic today. Really happy he got his chance and is taking it.

Credit to him and credit to Lampard. If Sarri were here it would very likely have been Higuain leading the line this season as well and instead we have a top scorer from our own academy.

Long may it continue.

First goal was a poachers goal, second goal was a Drogba header, third goal was like watching the greats at their best. He was excellent today.

He's already shown he has the volley, just need the long screamer now.

The way he has played since the penalty miss in the Super Cup has been brilliant. In sport, it's how you react to disappointments that can shape your career. With Morata, he simply gave up when things got tough, but Abraham has done the complete opposite.

It is early days, but at this stage he appears to be the sort of striker that we've been crying out for since Diego Costa left.

He appears to have the movement, the control, the aerial ability and the predatory instincts to make mince-meat of most defences. Whether his movement/ball control will match up against the Top 4/6 on a consistent basis is another question, but with him fully fit and firing I don't see us leaving very many points on the pitch against sides outside the Top 6 after (or maybe even during) this season - provided we can fix our defence and dominate for more than 45 minutes.

I didn't think that much of his aerial ability last season, but this season his headers have been on target and he's difficult to win an aerial duel against.

Did he claim the match ball?

Yeah, Joe Edwards got it for him.

I'm not sure he's got the required talent, though.

if he's our first choice this season, we're in a lot of trouble.

scoring twice against the Championship level backline isn't suddenly going to turn him into a top quality striker. There's a very long road ahead and it'll be months and months before we could objectively assess his worth and whether he has a future at the club.

still not excited ?

This kid is a special poacher. Chelsea has not had a player like him in a long time. He is full of confidence, athletic, long and tall, strong, and knows where to be at all the right times.

Good thing he's not long and short.  😛

Norwich City 3 : 1 Man City @ 69 mins

The same Norwich City we defeated in their home with all the injury issues we are having. I think we are underrating our boys. By the time we have all our players back we might just have a title fight with other big 6.

Wonder what it’ll be now he’s scoring against sides playing in Europe. ‘It’s only europa league sides’? The guy is the real deal and I’m delighted for him, the skill to open up his third was beautiful.

If he scored in the champions league against Madrid it’ll be ‘it’s only against Tibo’.
