Do they? I honestly didn't know that.

Who is it at Man United and Arsenal?

Oh they don't have? What about say the likes of PSG,City, Majority of italian clubs, Liverpool, even fu*king QPR. If they don't have then there's someone there with similar duties.

I know, but it's simply not true to say all clubs have them and that's an important point because it goes to the issue of who is outlining the direction of the club. At Arsenal, it's very much Wenger but that's possibly a hangover from a bygone time.

We're in a situation where the football philosophy is decided on by either an owner prone to complete 180s in direction, or someone ill-equipped for the role. Just to point out that I have no problem with clubs having DoFs and I'd love us to appoint someone of the calibre of City's or Bayern's because I don't think any coach will have the time or freedom to implement their own ideas in any meaningful way.

I'd be happy with Allegri or Conte. They might bring a different approach that the team needs. We need to change from being 'Jose's team' to being 'Chelsea managed by...'

Right now a substantial change of identity is needed I feel. The new ground will help but right now I'm not sure what type of team we are. Passing, counter-attack, physical, defensive, dominant of possession? We need a manager who is going to do what Jose did and bring us a style and model the team to that.

can we petition for ShedEnder91 to get a job on the board? sounds like he has a fascination with behind the scenes at chelsea.

well this video was fecking depressing lol not a big surprise, but i do hope he's wrong about our future and ability to sign good players.

I think I'm right in saying when the CST was established that one of the aims was to get a supporter's representative on the board. Not volunteering but there's zero accountability at the moment at the top of this club and the owner doesn't actually communicate with the supporters in any meaningful way.

That video is pretty depressing too but I can't fault too much of it. We had a chance to build something sustainable when we were at the top and we failed. Now we're a team in decline and it's very hard to sign players in that position.

I had sex in one of them once, it was rubbish........the car i mean.

And the sex I suppose.

The Allegro estate looked like a hearse, hope you had something stiff followed by a little death in French ;)

Yes, but more pertinent is that he's currently the manager of Paul Pogba.

Maybe this is one of the club's hopes.

I was thinking this as Pogba has worked with him..the chaces of getting Pogba would increase not that i think he need him RLC needs to be the one we push

I wouldn't mind Ancelotti (if he wasn't going to Bayern Munich), I think he did a good job here before and R Madrid had a very good season under him. And we have a not very dissimilar team, with two wings like Ramos-Ivanovic and Marcelo-Azpilicueta, a midfielder like Modric or Kroos in Fabregas, we've got the Bale, James and Ronaldo in Oscar, William and Hazard, and even Costa as a version of Benzema.... ;)

But, given the state in which the team is at the moment, maybe we need Simeone as a manager, he can bring the mentality, intensity and pace of play that the players are lacking this season. But I'm not keen on his football style (sometimes bordering the aggression) and I don't think is suited for the players we have.

Hopefully Roman can sell whoever, the vision of being Helmsman of a new beginning, a new bright dawn in cfc history, Juve boss gets my thumbs up..

Joachim Low would be tremendous I think. And he would be capable of cultivating a new culture at the club, one that can be filtered through every squad including at kids level. He was instrumental along with Klinsmann in helping remodel the German football model and if we could tempt him I think he would be a great long term solution

Allegri for me. Has done great at Juventus. We need to get away from Abramovich's obsession with this lightweight tika-taka nonsense in the Premier League.

Watching Juventus it's a pleasure to see defenders who know how to defend. Left backs who play with their left foot. And midfielders who know how to tackle and pass.

It's not rocket science.

Just realized that Cuadrado is just on loan at Juventus still. Done pretty well under Allegri this season so i wonder if he is someone Allegri would like to keep if he came.

agree with this. Roman has this bizarre hardon for playing "beautiful" football, which simply will never ever ever win the league in England. We did a good job of playing nice stuff at the start of last season, then teams figured us out, and we got 5 goals pumped past us by spuds. After that we went back to a more agricultural style of play to see us over the line.

I personally think, after considering it for a while now,  that Pep will be a f**king disaster in this league. I can see the 80% possession stats now, with the team being undone regularly by 85th minute smash and grab set pieces or long balls over the top. Teams in this league will happily sit in, soak up the pressure and bully their way to a point, or three. We have seen it time and time again over the years, and while i think the label of "best league in the world" is misplaced due to the fact that the actual quality of football on display can often be sh*te, for entertainment value alone it is the best league in the world, simply because supposed relegation fodder can turn up on any given day and produce a shock.

the poster above has it nailed on with allegri. Square pegs in square holes. no more of this f**king makeshift midfield and converted fullbacks playing out of position. A simple, aggressive, tough team with touches of finesse in positions in which finesse is required, and we will be ok, given our resources.

Wish we would drop this f**king fascination with "tiki taka" which has been utterly found out now. Even Barca have added that extra grit to their team and done away with the pretty style to become that little bit more nasty, in fact there was a brilliant piece about Enrique's move away from tiki taka and adding that bit of bite with the addition of suarez (pun unintentional).

Its a simple game. keep it f**king simple, especially in this league which is built on traditions of hard, uncompromising football. We could do a LOT worse than Allegri.

We then need Simeone, that is pure "agriculture", I'd go even further, more of "cavemen" style than agricultural... ;)

I think Allegri would be a very good choice.

He sets his teams out very well, extremely hard to brake down.

His favourite formations are 3-5-2 and 4-3-1-2, I love the idea of having 2 up top and a playmaker.

He likes tough defenders, so I think he would prefer JT to stay, his midfielders are battlers too, no room for lightweights in his teams.

I can see a chunk of players leaving this summer (cahill, mikel, pedro, oscar, fabregas, remy) and if he takes over I can see us going for Pogba and Morata even if we dont make it in the CL

I'm not sure how wise it would be to bring a manager that favours 352. Hazard would have nowhere to play in that system, willian would probably be played at wing back, and I'm not sure where that would leave azpiliucueta, as baba would be a better left wing back.

It would be a massive upheaval for this squad.

I would love to see us play 2 strikers though. 442 has worked great for teams this season.
