City have the best squad in the league, this is by a margin.

If Fergi was in charge of that team they would be 10 points out in frount by now

Pellegrini is the great equilliser, he makes it fair by giving every one else a chance

I would be shocked if we went for Pellegrini. He's had the biggest squad for 3 years running and only just managed to beat Liverpool to the title 2 years ago. Even this year City are struggling to pull away. Their main competition from last year ( us ) is nowhere in sight and they still aren't on top of the table. That squad should be well ahead already.

If its Pellegrini i'm giving up. Imagine him up against Pep at City and Mourinho at United(its going to happen).

If Emenalo pushed Jose out the door only to hire Pellegrini, he gots to go. Say what you will about sacking Jose, that motherf*cker gots to go. Pellegrini is unacceptable

According to most of the links it seems to be a financial decision as City will be due no compensation as they will be bringing in Pep.

I hop[e it's not a sign of things to come as it's got more than a hint of financial cut backs like at Arsenal when they were paying for the stadium.

So it cannot now be Ancelotti as he is headed to Bayern. As we know Pep will NOT take Chelsea as he only takes the "easy jobs" where he has a ready made team that needs very little work and makes him look superb although as a figurehead, diplomat and man to get us playing attractive football I would take him in a heartbeat!  and Simeone after Jose could be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire in term of toxicity, sheer madness and anti-social behaviour.

Therefore it really is likely to be Pellegrini although I would love to see us really rub Spurs nose in it, by making a money no option offer for Pochettinho.

If all goes well with hiddink and drogba, I'd keep them next season. I would love one of the old guard to build a legacy here. Drogba could be our man. He would command instinct respect, and he he loves the club, hopefully he can be moulded into a top manager by hiddink.

being reported in the independent and the times that chelsea are interested in pellegrini - or, more specifically, michael emenalo is interested in pellegrini as he is a fan of his "no fuss" approach to management, having suggested him as a potential successor to FSW and an alternative to mourinho's re-appointment in 2013.

As much as I/we would all like a "Long term Manager" we would all happily accept a new one every 3 years if we were winning trophies as we have done over the past 10 years.

As for the new man to come in, in my opinion only Pep and Ancelotti are on that elite level that Jose is on. We all know Ancelotti has been confirmed as Bayern's new Manger so it has to be Pep. Should one of the Mancs snap him up then i would happily settle for Simeone. He has the passion needed to get our players working hard for the team.

I think we are in good hands with Guus until the end of the season. If they can get Drogba to play some part that would be great for morale in the dressing room. If Guus does manage to get us into the top 4 which is not impossible as all the other teams are dropping points too, then why not give it to him?

Up the blues!

curious as to the role of drogba, especially going forward.

Hiddink has confirmed that he will only be here until the end of the season; there will be a new manager after that. Would Drogba give up on his MLS contract, and hang the boots up for a stint as an interim coach? his performances at montreal have been impressive, 12 goals so far this season i believe, and he always said he wanted to keep playing while he could.

would any new manager be happy having drogba forced upon them as an assistant? i wonder how it will pan out. It could be that they see drogba as a long term solution, who knows. it is absolutely certain though that roman has total faith in drogba and is extremely close to him as an individual and as a professional

i wouldnt be against it as a longer term solution.

I don't believe Drogba would want to give up playing at the moment as he is having a ball out there. As it is their end of season we may be able to use him in an "Advisory" role until Feb or March (Whenever they kick off again in the MLS). The players adore him and he brings confidence to the squad. If you look at all the behind the scenes footage from Chelsea TV etc... it was always Drogba in the middle getting the team going and having a laugh. Maybe we only need him for a couple of months to get confidence going again. Then maybe when his contract ends he may want to consider a permanent coaching role?

I think the Managers job at our club is something of a poisoned chalice, I would hate a playing legend to take it on and fail.

I'm sure there will be a lot of managers sacked between now and the end of the season, so who knows who will become available. As long as we don't get Brenda !

I would have thought he'd be a lot more useful there than having a role in defence or midfield. Although he could teach Costa a few things about defending at set pieces.

Pep goes to City, Jose goes to ManU or Italy, Carlo was confirmed by Bayern.

Simeone just said why leave Atletico so soon. I think he is a manager that looks like Chelsea and his style probably fits Premier League. Maybe we can lure Guus to stay for one extra season and get Simeone for 17-18 season...

I hope we overlook some of the names dropped here like Ramos.

So Emenalo is the one who sacks and appoint managers for us?

Sometimes I wonder where some of you get this type of crap information from.

Well he clearly has a very influential role in it all.

He gave the post Jose interview to clarify the decision.

He attended training with Roman following the sacking.

I don't doubt he'll have a big say in who the next manager will be.

pellegrini it is

Serves us right if we get lumbered with sh*t, should have had a plan in place before making such drastic changes

think the days of us being able to attract any of the top top top managers in europe at the click of a finger are long gone. Dont see us being desirable at all these days, managers must know they are on a hiding to nothing by coming here, and with the days of big spending gone, any high profile manager will likely see us as too big a reputational risk if they are unable to make drastic squad alterations in order to suit their particular style.

we could be f**ked.

We don't know if we haven't yet.

We don't know if we haven't yet.

valid point dkw - just seems that the potential list is somewhat narrow. Mou has gone / didnt work, obviously with carlo going to bayern then he is ruled out, klopp (ermmmmm) is currently making an arse of it with the dippers, simeone today distancing himself. Not really sure who would take us forward from those who may be available. Obviously pep is a potential but the media seems to think he is a stick on cert to be managing city next season. Conte?

who would you like to see on a permanent basis?
