Hope Conte tells him to sit tight this season and next season he'll have a proper role when Cahill is moved on. 

It'll be slightly tough to edge Luiz and Azpi out. He really needs to be patient because his time will come. So much talent there

He should start over Cahill now, Cahill offers hardly anything to the side, he's always the weak link in defence. Mayaswell take the risk and put the confidence in Christensen, he seems to have a lot of potential because he has shown top level consistency at a young age. Otherwise, we can just stick it out with an above average defender that'll inevitably cost us a lot of goals this season.

I think/hope Rudiger is taking Cahill's place. Unfortunately for Andreas he is only truly effective in the middle of a back 3 and Luiz won't budge easily. However with David at 30 and Andreas at 21 we have the chance to make a seamless transition with the pair, hopefully Andreas doesn't do a Lukaku and demand it all now.

Fortunately, this season will se us play in many fronts so there should be plenty of games for Andreas to play. No need to play Luiz or Azpi every single match risking injury.

Played well last night, saw him on a FIFA promotion with rio Ferdinand he has lost the danish accent sounds like an English kid, is always amazes me how people from that part of the world pick up English or American accents so quickly

Edit: Also that one in the corner that went out, I thought if Azpi had read that better he'd have got to it easily without needing to try sliding, so really he should have only had one misplaced pass!

Very very impressed with him yesterday

SO glad we didn't spunk a load of money on Stones or VVD (or any aging Italians) when we all knew we had a gem in Christensen. The lad looks quality and is the future.

 

Impressed with what I have seen so far...hope club realise that missing out on van Dijk is a blessing in disguise

Only criticism he lost a few aerial duels last night, in a back 3 perhaps not a huge issue just don't see how he'll improve this aspect of his game. That said the biggest compliment I can give Andreas is that he reminds me of Ricky C. For me without question an 'upgrade' over Ake.

Aerial duels are all about strength and  anticipation so the only way he'll improve on that is experience and bulking up a bit.

He really does impress me, gonna be our future Captain, Cahill is starting to show his age already rash, badly timed tackles, Him luiz and Rudiger look like a quality back 3

I'm very impressed by Andreas, so young but actually good. Against Tottenham already he showed very good things, very quiet in his actions, classy & he reminds me Terry. 

Rudiger, Zouma and Christensen could be the defence for a long, long, time.

 

Christensen was good. He showed a bit of pace at one point, too. 

(Ps. They can work on things like improving your leap. Bulking up might help, too.)

Take your place while you have a chance. Luiz has gifted him a run in the team. He should start all 3 in the center of our 3. I expect 3 clean sheets 

I would say this is a time where he could shine and cement a place. However cahill walked right  back in the team. Although he is captain.

One of those games is against city so you will be likely disappointed.

He's played them before and come out shinning. 

Not doubting that I just doubt our ability to get the clean sheet you are asking for. Am sure he is capable of a great game though.

If Chelsea play a back two, the cool composed defending of Christensen and the brilliant physical ability of Zouma would make a nicely balanced pairing.

Both so young still. Rudiger there, too. Bodes well for the future.

Well he'll be getting some game time now. 

@axman2526 we should be the toughest test they've had yet. 

I'm also more confident because Andreas is more suited to play against a team like that than Luiz
