Yeah he looked of the pace first half, looked a bit overwhelmed. But second half was outstanding, I would love to know what Conte said to him.

That's what I saw, and I trust your judgment on defenders, you're a guy who plays it's a bit different when you know what to look for.

Plays the game in a very classy way, did well to recover from that little mistake earlier in the game.

So much potential and is capable of being one of the best CBs in the world, hopefully he'll carry on getting game time this season as it would not only benefit him but also benefit us as well

I think it was his reading of harry Kane that got better the first half he was waiting to see what Kane did and react and he was out of sorts second half he was reading him better and getting in the right position to stop Kane before he had control of the ball, that's what made Terry so good, Garry is the opposite he watches and reacts.

I think he made a few mistakes he was nervous maybe, but he has the attributes, I still don't think he is ready but if he gets a good amount of games this run He should be good enough next year, I think he gives more in many ways than Garry and I'm not a big fan of Garry but we missed leadership at the back to day, looked rattled at times.

He gets his foot in well, we defended corners brilliantly which was a problem last year, today I saw Dave isn't a captain, luiz is not of the right mindset although a natural leader, so I think Rudiger will be above Andres to replace Garry unless we decide to play Dave as a RB then he may well get in the team, if we had strength in wb as we had planned he wouldn't start, so I think he should take the opportunity to get as many games as he can.

I liked aspects of what I saw but my honest , honest opinion is he still isn't quite ready to be a starter for Chelsea. If I'm wrong I've no problem admitting it but if anything he confirmed my thoughts in the first half, a much better second half from him, played well.

The debate in pre-season wasn't necessarily that he was ready to be a starter it was that given half a season he will be. Today for me he was no worse than Cahill on average last season and Rudiger in general today.

And the only real 'mistake' I saw was when he over compensated with Kane and allowed him to get space on his right foot to hit the post but even then he had still cut down pretty much all the space available for the shot and on top of that when when you consider that Kane is one of the top 5 strikers in the league, is being beaten once like that really that bad. I'm pretty certain Kane has done that to much more experienced defenders on more than one occasion in a game and I'm pretty sure I have seen him turn players like VVD inside out. I particular remember a game where he made Cahill look Sunday league.

Whilst I admit (that an on form and fit) VVD will likely have been an improvement on him today and much more likely been an improvement on Rudiger can you really say you weren't impressed by the 21 year old.

If not when was the last time you saw a 21 year old that impressive?

There was a few mistakes he missed the ball completely on the stretch and let Kane in he made 3 or 4 in the first half.

I do think he was good no doubt but I wasn't like wow, unbelievable 21 year old, I think he will be a top CB when he is 23 or 24 but he is still way off a top class CB like a prime JT, Zouma was 20 when he was starting for us and was more impressive. He has presence came in even at DM against city, always did a top job, looked like more of a starter.

I think Andreas will be better than zouma because he is better on the ball but to me pre injury zouma was a Chelsea starter, the Andreas I saw to day is still not a Chelsea starter.

Not faultless, but far more positives than negatives...remember seeing him start v Bradford in Cup defeat a couple of years ago and looked way off...you can see he has grown far more confident since then, the loan has done him good...particularly impressive in the second half...worth remembering he played in a makeshift team to a degree, with one of the centre half's next to him new to the pl and also working his way to full fitness

After watching the highlights back last night it looks like he changed from defending the player in the first half to defending the space in the second. First half he tended to get dragged about a bit but was much more positionaly disciplined in the second.

Hopefully he eats lots of proteins and spend lots of time in the gym because i think he needs to bulk up quite a bit for this league. Second half yesterday was very, very encouraging though.

I hope we don't go sign Van Dyk just because we need to spend, we got a solid defender for the next 10 years.

Agreed, considering Van Dyjk is 5 years older than Christensen arguably you could say Christensen isn't far of Van Dyjk's experience.  Considering Christensen played for Monchengladbach the last two seasons in the champions league aswel as the Bundesliga, I would argue that apart from Van Dyjks time at Southampton Christensen has played at a higher level.

He looked composed apart from the Kane hitting the post moment (as people have mentioned). I've seen worse performances from far more established defenders.

Thought he was very composed, especially in the second half. Marshalled Kane well and reassured after that blip of a miss kick at the start. Can be given a little bit of a let off for the post hit by Kane (personally thought was a mistake by Dave charging out that opened up the space. Sky pundits were impressed and haven't seen many negatives with him

We talk about wanting to bring players through, yet when we have a sight of a player we know is quality we start faffing about saying he'll be ready in a few years. Give him a run of games and he'll come good.

Anyone who would have watched him play for a couple of games, would have the same opinion of him: "He is going to be CLASS".

Anyone else worried that with Cahill back next match, we might see the last of Andreas this season? Or at least see him in less of a capacity?

I was thinking about that. Him and Mosunda, won't be seen much even on sub bench :(
