Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

Featured Replies

In any case the writing is on the wall, we all know the end game when managers start going on constantly about lack of recruitments and board backing.

It all goes the same way.

Needs to stop f**king moaning about transfers and his lack of involvement in them to the press.

His press conferences have a constant negativity around them and it's got like Jose was in his second spell again.

It's boring and the fans don't want to keep hearing it.

Get your head down and get on with trying to win games rather than taking pot shots at your employer.

Absolutely, hes doing himself no favours at the moment with some of his weird subs and all that bullsh*t in interviews. Almost as if hes trying to engineer a way out of the club, and if he is then he can go f**k himself.

A thing I notice at the moment is we have both Moses and Alonso being seen as having poor performances recently.

Is this because the WB position is punishing and when you are playing every three days it becomes a killer?

I can imagine he's feeling quite isolated at the moment. There is no link between the manager and board with Emenalo gone. He's also voiced his concerns about the way our team transfer business is conducted, waiting until the last minute to create pressured negotiations. Our transfer business has been strange since the Costa Fabregas window. I agree with most of what he's saying but this will only end one way...

Could be that. There again before either became regulars for us, neither were rated. Could you see either getting in the City or Utd sides? Don't wish to do them a disservice as both have played their part but just maybe they were excelling and now they are back to their normal form, which is good squad players.

I still stand by Conte and last night when you looked at his options they were..........well there weren't any. Okay, his call not to have Musonda on the bench but other than that what could he do? He hasn't been well backed and it's disgraceful if he really does have little or no input on who we sign. If he leaves in the summer, I am certain that whoever his replacement is will not be as good and if we again fail to sign any REAL quality, we are just going to slip further down.

Yeah, Bring Emenalo back - always rated the guy!!

We know he's gone in the summer. He knows it. The board knows it. The players know it. It's beginning to transfer onto the pitch. I can accept losing/drawing games if we try our best but we just can't get the result, but some of these inept, frankly lazy performances of late are reminiscent of the 15/16 season. I'm sure tiredness plays a part somewhat, some of the players have been run into the ground with fixture congestion and replays, but there's no excuse for some people.

Let's just say there's a reason why Conte wanted Sandro and Kyle Walker.

He knows the limitations of Moses and Alonso.

Moses in particular is in a slump, for a former winger he can't beat his man for toffee and last night resorted to playing passes backwards all the time.

We can guess all we want about what's going on behind the scenes.  Who knows, Conte may have put himself in the position he currently finds himself.  Perhaps after winning the league the club did offer him a contract extension but as he was not entirely happy being away from his family he wouldn't commit; so they gave him a raise instead. So with his non commitment they weren't going to spend a fortune on players if he wasn't going to be around for the next season.  They probably asked him to integrate some of the young players, but perhaps he didn't rate them enough and was told to get on with what he has and in any event as this club has a history of doing, they farm them out.  Clearly his recent rants about transfers probably have some truth behind them, i.e. that he has no say in who the club buys, his job is to simply coach what he is given and those players are not the quality he wants, so he'll have a dig.

That might explain the recent negotiations with Roma that it is panick buy to ensure we get CL football next season.

If Conte would not commit after changing our system you could see how quickly trust might break down.

Looking post Conte, it looks tricky with a stadium rebuild and keeping the revenue coming in and you want to stay in the top four with minimal purchases.........

He has his own guilt as well. Why only players from Calcio? Why? Since day number 1 of the transfer markets we are looking for expensive, slow, frail, unproven, old italian or playing for italian club players. The board has the right too, they already let Jose and flattered his Ego to the limit and look what happened - De Brewin, Salah, Mata, Lukaku.. and Conte's target are very questionable as well. When we failed to  accomplish them, we just brought him just a little bit cheaper. But since his arrival, we are looking at the Calcio. That's suspicious. The Board and Roman are right in that case.

I certainly wanted Sandro even at £60m, to put down a marker we meant business and terrify the league.  By not doing this everyone knew our M.O and how to stop us.

£60 million is not exactly earth shattering anymore especially for one of the best left backs in Europe.

Like they will give him the job.

Why wouldn't PSG give him the job. he has been a serial winner so far, something they lack. He can site lack of resources for top signings for not winning the CL so far and there is evidence to prove him right.

This theory that the board don't back Conte in the market is getting on my nerves, Conte seems to want older players and players that we can't get.

Tried to get nainggolan, koulibaly, romagnoli, Sandro and anytime we buy a player from Serie A im usually convinced its a Conte signing so Alonso and Zappacosta to me are his signings. We are getting another two players from Serie A for him, which he stopped moaning, Pochettino at Spurs doesn't moan.

Not all of our signings are his sure but he must of known that when he took over, he would of been told that when he joined and isn't wasn't a problem last year when we were winning. Our transfer policy is similar as it is in most clubs in Europe especially in Italy so whatever club he goes too next it will be exactly the same.

I dont know about you lot but i dont want a manager at Chelsea having 100% control over transfers, Managers only think about themselves and want older players. What happens if it goes tits up we are left with an ageing team. Conte apparently wants Andy Caroll ffs, now you see why alot of clubs down allow managers control on transfers.

PSG are serial winners.

It's a recurring #CFC theme. We bring in a manager, but after initial honeymoon period we don't give him the players he wants. Manager sulks, team struggles, we sign some crappy nobodies, manager sacked. New manager comes in, doesn't like the crappy nobodies and it all starts again.

Seriously, so frustrating. We were in such a good position after last season and just needed a few tweaks with good investments. Instead we will reset and spend more all over again. This club has no direction. Penny wise, pound foolish.

I don’t think he can hack it in cup games, and he is unproven in the CL. His favoured 3-4-3/3-5-2 formation which I find too defensive will be a non-starter.

It's easier not to moan when the pressure is so much less as clubs expectations are that much lower. AND you have a striker like Harry Kane!

I didn't really see any of his comments about the transfer market and the way Chelsea operate as whinging.

The media keep asking him about it and he keeps answering the same way.  If the club want input they ask him and he gives it.  Seems like a good process to me and he doesn't answer unrelated questions by talking about the transfer market.

Am I missing something?
