Tbf we did with jose. We backed him publicly and then for far too long afterwards. Jose was sacked when every single person knew he was finished.

We didn’t back Jose publicly, we just didn’t sack him for ages. The players knew that Jose would get the sack eventually. If the board came out and said we will not sack Jose, the players would of had no choice but to turn their performances around.

Bit difficult to do that as he refused to sign a contract extension.

And that for me is where it all started to go wrong. It has to be asked, why would the board spend fortunes in today's market on a Conte style player, when he won't be here past this season end.

I personally would like him to stay but he also should show some commitment in terms of the contract.

i think keeping conte longer than necessary will be worse for us than when jose had a bad season. first of all it's the second time it's happened and because of this if we fall out of top four, it will be difficult to recruit players. not just that but hazard and thibaut could decide that dropping out of the top four for the second time in 3 seasons is too much and they want to leave. at least first time around it was understandable and unpredictable how we would end up, but if we continue dropping points like this we will fall out top four fast due to the chasing back being more effective recently than us.

Of the players we signed, how many do you think conte actually wanted??

Morata and bakayoko definitely. Zappacosta he would have been okay with. Giroud he wanted.

If he wants better than that then he needs to go and manage somewhere else - he knows we cant compete with city psg and united.

pretty much this

there is no other player apart from Hazard who could make something happen with the ball

Shouldn’t be that surprised if he has lost the players. All he talks about is work, work, work. When he came here players who played under him always referred to his work ethic and how hard a task master he is. Players can only go so long with that but eventually they get worn down and when the fun goes out of it performances drop off.

Conte has been serving up some sh*te this season as far as attacking entertaining football goes and personally I’m fed up watching such defensive football. First Mourinho, then Conte. Conte must go I think but I hope that that we bring in someone entertaining and please please please not Simone.h

taking pops at the board and (apparently) falling out with marina is enough to be fired in roman's eyes. at least it would have been years ago. if roman is still as ruthless he won't stand for it and conte will be gone.

We laugh at United for spending 80 million on Pogba, yet we bought Bakayoko & Drinkwater for that amount. We’ve spent 200 million this season, it should have went on 3 good players.

willian went off and looked thouroughly cheesed off on the bench. terrible substitution. not starting rudiger over cahill is another poor decision. i understand injuries are an issue at the moment, but that team is still good enough to beat watford.

He's a great bloke id keep him personally, but i would be surprised if he survives this.  Few things he must fix if  he does

Stop playing Bakayoko, give him weeks on the bench, just drop him.

We had a LB on the bench tonight, who must be fit to even be named there, instead we play Zappa LWB.  giroud should have started, end of, and I'd give Moses a break. He has regressed

Cesc on for Willian was the wrong sub, and baffling.  I'd have taken a CB off, keep Willian's pace and directness in the team.  You almost lose that instantly with Cesc, and his great ability is to spot a run off the shoulder of the last CB, that wasnt going to happen tonight with Pedro and Hazard uptop, they like it into feet.

There seems a lack of ability to make subtle changes or tweaks to turn a game in our favour.  Jose was great at it (before the end) we could go 2-0 down and id still fancy a point at best.  Now, no way

All in all, keep him and back him this summer.  Head says he is gone by end of week

So right now we have a situation were there has been a drastic change in our transfer policy. In order for us to buy we must spend but there's only a certain amount of money we can generate from sales. Conte has been too worried about how much he desires to spend in the market . Losing 7-1 against Bournemouth and Watford back to back is beyond appalling, its unacceptable. He's been too busy casting envious glances at Guardiola and forgot how to coach his team. Besides, him staying now makes no sense as all bridges have been burned and the club is unwilling to give him the finances in the transfer market he craves.

Well news flash. This isn't 2005 anymore. Roman simply cannot compete with what the Manchester clubs have financially.

We need a complete overhaul of our mentality and approach.  This club needs a young, enteprising manager that prioritizes attacking football and our youth team that will fit in with our new model of selling to buy. Even if its a risk, its a risk worth taking. I'm just fed up of watching dire, horrid "football" while some of our rivals with supposedly lesser resources play much better than us. We've been subjected to some really negative managers in this Abramovich Era and doesn't have to be like that.

We have a stadium we want to expand. Its counter-intuitive expanding your stadium when you could be looking down the barrel of two champions league-less seasons in 3 years.

It's sad to see when you look across and you see Spurs with Kane, Alli and Dier as established members of the XI while we are still in the stage of a "5 min there" and "injury time here" with our youth team players. All this despite them winning back to back UEFA youth league titles and countless FA cups. Any other club would have capitalized on that opportunity. We by contrast don't know what the f*** we're doing.

So I suggest we go for a Jardim , Tuchel or Nagelsmann. Young managers known for coaching attacking football and bringing in youth. Give the new manager an opportunity to implement an identity and attacking style of play. Till this day we're the only big club without an identity. We just rely on our outstanding individual player (Drogba, Lampard, Hazard) to win us games. Get the new manager in and give him the reigns and let him oversee the Stamford Bridge expansion. Jardim is my 1st choice.

We can't afford to chance on Conte changing, I think he might but if he doesn't then it would be disasterous, it will be game after game of no shots on target until 70 minutes in.
We also don't know how much in love he is with Bakayoko, for what we know after the next game he might field him again.

Ultimately he is no longer the right manager for us, he wants to work with quality and the club has sadly changed it's priorities and tough to say but we need a f**king Wenger now to help get that CL money whilst we build the stadium.

Look at him tonight. Anyone thinking he wants to be here is needing to go to specsavers

its over, he wants out and the players know it so have downed tools just like Jose all over again.

we have no choice but to relieve him

Agree re Conte, but I think you're being harsh on the players. After Bakayoko went, we were much better in the second half. 4-1 was harsh considering the lads kept fighting. It felt like we saw a lot of flashes of each players worse characters (Cahill rash challenges, Fab nasty hack on someone, Luiz having a lost moment etc), but I can't fault them for effort in that second half.

4-1 was harsh, really, we we're sh*t, we were lucky it was only 4-1

1) revolving door of managers

2) The board refusing to give managers more powers with transfers.

3) Not shelling out cash when needed.

Roman may be bored to death. If so, that's a real issue.

And it will get alot worse before it gets better.....with either RA f**king all over ffp or a new owner comes around.

I’m sorry but conceding 7 goals in 2 matches against Bournemouth and Watford, absolutely unacceptable.

Looking at our squad, we really shouldn’t have got destroyed by these lot. Far too much talent in the team! It’s all down to the manager and players.

If Conte isn’t bothering then he can fvck off. I’ve never taken such a disliking to a manager before but Conte is really pissing me off. Having the cheek to complain about signings when he isn’t doing his job properly, throwing Barkley under the bus, saying he doesn’t know who Emerson is, etc. What a complete knob.

Most definitely my man......but nah aint gonna happen until something huge happens.

I do want us to stick with him I think he can turn it round it however it really does look like he doesn't want to be here any longer and the players have been poor for a while, would be a very hasty decision to sack him right now though especially after bringing in a target man and a wing back for him.

I know it you know it I just hope some of our younger fans will.
