Didn't hear any chanting, although i was only watching a stream, I assume it was just a minority of idiots. There's always someone willing to step up to the plate and make the rest of us look bad.

A few nice left footers in there, phew !

Maybe he's still settling in and needs more time to show us he's confident on his left foot too.

Offensive or not (I personally think it is), there's no reason for it. The Willian song is brilliant because it actually means something, this is just pointless.

It's similar to how some people chant "WE HATE TOTTENHAM" during the liquidator at the Bridge, can't stand that.

Nothing wrong with singing about rivals, but not in every song and definitely not during the liquidator.

Completely agree.  What I find amusing at a game is the idiots full on swearing and gesturing at the away supporters.  Why?  Absolutely no need for it.  Especially when there are kids sitting there.  Support your team and your players, have fun but respect your fellow supporters and set an example.  Never understood the hatred people harbour over a game of football.

When I first heard the chant, I felt pretty embarrassed to be honest.
Not only is it unimaginative, but it doesn't set a good standard.
Yeah, Spurs can themselves "y*ds" but if they called themselves the "N Word" would that still give us permission to chant about it?
Not everyone knows they call themselves what they do, so any old person would just think we're being anti-Semitic without knowing the context and the last thing this club needs is the media twisting things to say we're racist...again.

Agree on the Morata song but not on liquidator.

We do hate Tottenham. I like hating Tottenham. It also gives the song a bit more edge...maybe because only half the crowd sing the Tottenham part it gives the Chelsea part a build up.

Football has always been about this. People care, they get angry, show emotion.

Still remember pulling a middle finger at the Spurs fans in White Hart Lane when I was 9.
Best thing about it was when my Dad laughed and did the same.
Memories.

Aside from the chanting, he has made a good start but....

Still dubious about him technically. Hes been slipped in a few times now (and also for Spain over Int Break) and looks a little bit clumsy. Top strikers when they get them opportunities score or at least test the keeper.

My only concern with Morata is he does not like his left foot at all.

Did you see yesterday a moment in the 2nd half when Morata had a simple left footed pass to put Willian in one on one with the keeper, but he tried hitting it with his outside right instead and spooned it.

He never looks comfortable when he has his right shoulder to goal, and that worries me because Eden is back and loads of our play will come down the left.

Has all his goals come from the right side i can't remember now ?

i it was a poor pass. I think he was right to use his right foot, but he should have opened his body up, and played it with the inside of his right, as it would've bent more into Willians path.

I think he is still over eager when he gets the ball at his feet, he will settle down soon, and regain some composure.

Totally agree.

World class striker! I can't wait to see him link up with Hazard and also Zappacosta whipping in crosses to him

Yes really. He has scored 3 headers and also made an assist aerially. There were a few occasions (most notably when Kante slid him in) whereby he didn't look comfortable or confident in front of goal with the ball at his feet. Time will tell and I hope he can prove me wrong.

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to see what everyone has been thinking about the reaction to the morata chant that was sung at Leicester using the word that spurs fan call them selves all the time?

Apparently there will be bans for any fans seen singing the song? Which means the whole away end is expecting a ban I'd imagine?

I still don't understand why Madrid sold him as I think he's way better than Benzema who they should've sold. Anyway I'm very glad they did.

i wonder if they'll come back for him in a few years if he becomes a huge hit here.

The 'Spurs fans use it' argument is nonsense and purposely missing the point.

The clubs stance is correct.

I understand both sides of this. I get that the term shouldn't be used and everything like that but at the same time of spurs want to give themselves that nick name then the chant is only indicating that morata hates spurs. The chant in no way is designed to be racist towards anyway.

However I do think that the chant shouldn't be used again at any other games and both spurs, Chelsea and all fans should get rid of that chant from football.

Also I'm not looking for an argument from anyone just putting my views out there and by no way am I racist. I just wanted to hear other people's views.

Its a stupid chant that the person(s) who made it up quite possibly didn't give full thought into what they were saying. Question is was the word directed at Jewish people in particular or Spurs our traditional rivals who have empowered the word. Personally I think the club are right to take the view they have and issue a strong condemnation of the chant. Maybe in this case it would be sensible to issue a stern warning to the supporters by the club and leave any bans etc to the courts as it clearly would be impossible to ban a full section of fans on the grounds of proof.

Out of interest, does anyone know how many Jewish people follow Spurs, my guess would be a very small percentage?

Didn't we have a similar problem with these a few seasons back where the club wanted to ban anyone using the "y word" for a while. That just didn't seem to happen. As said above, are they gonna ban 3300 people coz I'm pretty sure nearly the whole away end were signing it.
