Goals 25 28 15

Total shots 110 84 55

So according to that we should have bought Lacazette? Remember also the league, french is far easier than both spanish and English, also morata coming on as a sub, can look at it 2 ways, when he comes on they are throwing teh kitchen sink at a team to score, that's to objective, whereas the other players might be spending the time defending, tracking back etc, also you can look it as the other team will be digging in so its harder to score, either way its hard to compare a sub to a regular player, however unlike michy whose stats were skewed because of the low minutes high goal ratio, morata has actually played a lot of minutes so we get a better idea and teh stats are more comparable, but I think we need full season stats to see, maybe when he was at juve would give us a good idea, but we know this he did well as a full player and as a sub.

Ah you have outwitted me once again Tony... Normally I pride myself on the subtlety of a good English mug off. I guess I've been stateside too long!

Lol I always thought our American friends have a less developed sense of humour, if it's not accompanied by rolling around, screaming and someone's pants on fire its just not funny :biggrin:Better start streaming some British tele thats what I used to do in the States and Canada.

The only comparison I really care about is Morata and Costa.  Is Morata an upgrade to Costa?  My own opinion is that Costa is a striker who depends on great service from teammates, but in front of goal is more clinical than Morata.  On the other hand Morata can contribute his fair share of goals but will also be able to play and contribute in multiple ways/formations.  He can be a back to goal type, he can run behind, he can create, etc.  Morata appears to me the far more technical player, and smarter footballer.  Over time this will lead to more goals from a team perspective.

Hot take: the American version of the Office is better than the British one.

Tbh I am just pleased that our new striker is not called Lukaku.  I pretend that I think Morata is better but I haven't got a scooby really!

I guess having kak in your name isn't a good start but kaka did ok

Hank?

f**k off!  Far too American.  And I know that that is completely illogical as he isn't a Brit but Chelsea is a British club so it has to be a British Blokey name not Yankee.

I would have been very tempted to tell the guy to f**k off. He's just got off the plane and he has some d**khead shoving a microphone into his face. Sky must be getting desperate to be the ones to report things first.

Keith it is then.

I wanted Lukaku but I think its fair to say as a comparison and a sounder for compatibility;

  • Teams that play against defensive units hoping for a point: Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus
  • Teams that play against teams that think they could win; Everton, West Brom

Lukaku has shown that he can play in the latter, Morata has shown he can play in the former.  Its going to be an interesting season.

He even lost his bird for a minute there, seems like a humble guy and all reports corroborate that he is, a good vibe in the dressing room is so important and I think conte wants that through the whole club, because you would never release Costa for footballing reasons.

Something has to be asked here, if he was 60 million, why didn't UTD get him? Apparently they offered 75. Optimist says he wanted to work under conte and maybe was more desperate after Man U fell through, and Danilo is part of the deal, cynic in me thinks that they think this will pave the way for Hazard next year?
