sorry for Buffon but the best team won on the night. I thought Juve did great first half but obviously the second half was a completely different story. Watching that tonight just made me long to see Chelsea back in a Champions League final - maybe we will be in Kiev next year, I'm sure that is Conte's aim

Real Madrid were far too strong in the end.

The first club since AC Milan in 1989-1990 to go back-to-back in the Champions League.

Read an interesting article by Carragher yesterday where he mentions about Zidane not really being considered a world class or in the top 10 coaches.

Gotta say,it's kinda of true. You never hear fans longing for Zidane as their manager. Maybe there's a certain spectism about him.

Real were class, was so chuffed they won. Totally outclassed Juve. The whole Buffon deserved it chat made me want them to retain it even more. No player 'deserves it' it's earnt and his teams have not been good enough to win it.

Play acting is a epidemic in Spain, it's not just Real and Barca. They all do it and that's the culture. We just see those teams more often, something needs done but until it happens domestically it's just not going to go away. Drogba was horrible for it but latterly it got a bit better, I think players like Ramos will never change. It's a shame as he's a fantastic defender but let's himself down with his discipline and personality.

All in all good final and glad Real done it again with Ronaldo showing why he's the top player yet again.

Quite amusing seeing people upset to see an Italian teams player sent of due to a dive......

Oi, that player was someone for whom we all have very warm feelings and cherished memories!

Having won 3 European Cups in 4 years, and now being the first team to retain the trophy in the competition's modern format, surely we are looking at one of the great teams? I feel like this Madrid side doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I mean, they've won the European Cup more times than Pep Guardiola's Barcelona, yet some would have you believe that Messi & co. were the greatest team in the history of the game. I suppose that because Real don't ascribe to sime kind of morally superior, abstract 'philosophy', then their achievements are deemed inferior by the overwhelmingly idealistic media. Whatever the case, their record in Europe is utterly phenomenal and I doubt we'll see another team win the competition as frequently in such a short space of time for a while.

Finally, I know he's an egotistical c*ck but you have to admire Ronaldo. The man always delivers on the biggest stage.

I think that's harsh on buffon. he's lost 3 champions league finals, 1 on pens, he's been 1 of the best goalkeepers in the world for 20 years, and he comes across as real likable guy. He also stayed at juve when they were relegated which proved the sort of character he is. It would've been nice to see him finally get that champions league imo.

Ballack was very unlucky not to win one aswell. 2 final defeats, 1 on pens, and he also missed out on a world cup final having taken a yellow for the team in the semi's.

There's not many characters and men like buffon and ballack left in football, which is a sign of times unfortunately, (and maybe me getting old).

I still don't get how this is a red card at all. I think if Cuadrado doesn't turn round to apologise for whatever he doesn't get sent off. Makes him look guilty.

p.s. Ramos is a c**t. Worse than Pepe.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer player.

tbf he seemed like a nice bloke. Just a bit sh*t whenever he put on a Chelsea shirt :laugh2:

The way he conducted himself after joining Chelsea was pretty shocking.

Made little effort to make a success of his transfer and pushed for a move back to Italy almost immediately.

Gave lots of interviews where he said he was praying for a move away from Chelsea etc. etc.

I couldn't bring myself to feel even a little bit sorry for him for that red card at the weekend.

Good riddance to Twiglet head.

Not harsh IMO. He's not been in a good enough team in finals to win it. No one player deserves to win it for me, Buffon has won plenty so has more than most.

i don't get the whole obsession about him winning it.

I think his juve team against milan were good enough to win it. Just as I think our chelsea team in 08 were good enough to win it. Players on losing teams, don't always deserve to lose imo.
