February 21, 20188 yr Well this hasn't been posted in for a while.. Just wanted to say he was superb last night. Showed he really can do it against the best the world has to offer. Dribbled through that Barca midfield like a hot knife through butter at times. So lucky to have him.

He harrased Messi and co all night ran pass Biscuits like he was custard cream could of had a chance if willian played him through
February 21, 20188 yr It's funny that a lot of people are saying how Busquets absolutely bossed midfield last night, dominated Kanté etc., based purely on passing stats, ignoring that DM is a position that very often can't be defined by stats alone (and ignoring our game plan). Still, I guess fans will always praise their own player, we know who the real midfield boss was. I thought he did brilliantly, he was a constant shadow to Messi and yet still managed to be everywhere else, and even helped out offensively, carrying the ball forward and getting in the box. February 21, 20188 yr I love it when he just goes into full overdrive, and he starts tackling everything in sight. There was a 30 second spell in the 1st half last night where he won about 5 challenges. He needs to use his pace more to break away, and when he does, he needs to pick the right pass. Ramires was excellent in that respect, and I think kante is more than capable of using his speed to really hurt teams on the counter. Great player though, one of the best in the world. People think us selling De Bruyne was a mistake, well Real Madrid selling us Claude Makelele was an even bigger one. That one transfer hurt them for a long time.
February 21, 20188 yr I really wish he would drive forward and pass forward more though. At times he gets the ball and passes it sideways and backwards. He has the ball control and speed to run forward with the ball and look for the pass.

It's not like Fabregas or Bakayoko will cover it.

February 22, 20188 yr I thought Kante had a great game against Barca, there was a great clip, where he picks the ball up deep and zips through them including Messi, and the great man must think, "I aint running after that" about 1.46 into the above clip....
February 22, 20188 yr The way we set up was a master stroke, Kante and Willian, Hazard, and Pedro exposed Barcas treacle like pace in midfield Bisquits, and Foulabic, and the slowing Iniesta looked they the were playing on Fly paper at times

I dunno Scott Makelele was like 30 i think when we bought him and they still had Zidane and Ronaldo to compensate for it. We let a 22 year old KDB leave with all that time on his side.

We let a 22 year old KDB leave with all that time on his side. But look at Real Madrid when they sold Makelele. Chelsea, Barcelona, Man United, Liverpool, AC Milan, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Lyon, all of these clubs were performing consistently better than Real Madrid. They were knocked out of the last 16 for 6 straight years (from 04-05 to 09-10) They lost to Roma, Arsenal and to Lyon in that period, this would be a big shock if it was to happen today. Remember Zidane's quote when they sold Makelele ? "Why put another layer of gold paint on the Bentley when you are losing the entire engine?" He was spot on with that quote. They weren't the same when they sold Makelele. They had too much flair and not enough steel. They only really recovered when Mourinho took over. A lot of people see his time there as a failure, but he put that steel back into them and got them competing with the best again.

February 24, 20188 yr Well, if Sergio Busquets is world class, N'Golo Kante is out of this world. To be fair, he kinda already is, let's be honest. When he plays like he did against Barcelona you just sit back and clap. Absolute beast. Barcelona may have Messi, but they ain't got Kante. That Camp Nou game just gets more and more sexy. I truly believe it's going off in Catalonia. Kante, Hazard and Willian as a trio is nasty. Wish it was this Wednesday. Oh well, let's make sure we spank United and getting into that dominant mode. I guess we get so frustrated because there is so much genuine quality in the team. Start performing, fellas, like we know you can. Still the champs. Edited February 24, 20188 yr by Famous CFC

March 6, 20188 yr Hopefully it's nothing too serious but he needs to take all the time he needs to make sure he's in good health to resume playing, especially given the untimely death of Fiorentina's Davide Astori at the weekend. Can never be too careful.
March 6, 20188 yr It's almost certainly heart related. Not much can make you faint - an interrupted rhythm of the heart, something traumatic to the entire body or brain (like a stroke, exhaustion, massive bleed). It's a shame that none of us are properly educated growing up regarding health; things like the reality that even young people can suffer from heart disease, arthritis, all sorts. Then again, it's an even bigger shame that we're not told just how much of this bad luck with health is down to genetics. Like these footballers, we can eat right, exercise, have lack of stress - and just drop. Because our body was designed that way before even reaching 2 years old. Edited March 6, 20188 yr by fiel
March 6, 20188 yr If he has to miss the rest of the season then am happy as long as his health comes first
March 6, 20188 yr If he was unwell, it could have just been that, especially if he was over-doing it at training whilst not being well. It's not necessarily something serious that causes it.
March 6, 20188 yr Poor lad. Love him to bits. I trust the doctors have properly checked him up and given him the green light.
