Alexis Sanchez

Sanchez won't elevate United to champions. United are still short a few players, especially in defence and midfield. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he's a flop there. Quality player he is, but is he a United type player?

disappointing to see sanchez go to United.

I'm sure Vidal would've told him how great it was to work with conte, he has friends and former team mates here in pedro and fabregas, he wouldn't have to move away from London, and we have won 2 out of the last 3 titles.

But we just can't afford to put 28 year old player on astomincal wages and 4/5 year deal.

It's a shame, but it's just how we operate these days.

I don't think him having wages more than almost everyone else in the team should be a massive issue. The rest of our players are sh*te so would hardly expect to be on par - except for Hazard, who will be getting a massive raise soon anyway if he stays.

I don't think City will go in for him at all, I don't buy it one bit. Sanchez as good as he is loses the ball a lot, Pep Guardiola didn't like him for that reason.

It's never going to happen but I would love us to rival United for him, United getting him so easily just makes it criminal.

Certainly seems like it. Crazy thinking we’ve won 2 titles out of last 3, and yet we are still falling behind other teams on major signings.

60m wages over 3.5 years

30m transfer fee

10m agent fee

10m signing on fee.

£100m transfer in total or £28.5m per season.

Probably a more expensive transfer than morata, all things considered.

The way Wenger and jose have spoke to the media am pretty sure is done. Just waiting on arsenal getting their replacement lined up.

Stadium is an easily blame. Club are so so worried about ffp but the stadium has no effect on that. We want players like this we need to sell first to keep ffp.

We could start with Moses, willian and Pedro.

thats the last place i want to see him ending up... wudnt worry too much about pools or city!!

You're right, he won't, but with the way things are going in recent weeks, it's starting to look like both Liverpool and Tottenham will eventually overtake us and United which would make United our main competitor for 4th. If they get Sanchez, they go up a different level completely, their goal scoring will come so much easier for them. Signing him would almost guarantee a top 4 finish.

Signing him doesn't guarantee anything. I'll be very interested to see how he fits in at United.

Oh and about him setting Lukaku up, doesn't mean if he does that's Lukaku will actually finish.

Seems a great signing on paper, but in reality? We shall see.

In regards to Liverpool, they'll slip up again, forget today, long term they'll miss Coutinho. I expect Chelsea to buckle up and reassert themselves. Top 4 should be ok. City, United, Spurs and Chelsea.

Well said.  Bit of a rough patch but I expect us to regain our form and finish strong.

The problem is that the ones who are not RLC, Tammy quality are never going to be good enough. And then when it comes to the likes of RLC, the club must decide - play less games here or raise their profile and experience at another club. So in that specific case, if RLC never fulfills his talent then at least the club has an option to make money or use him as a squad player. If he just stays at Chelsea, hardly playing, then the option to make significant money disappears.

That's the problem though there's no reason the likes of Tammy or rlc shouldn't be playing at the mo would have saved about £100+ mil on the purchases of batman, Baka and ddw alone, plus I feel with younger players you get that raw passion, even if it goes wrong we can always sell for a profit to strengthen wherever but at least they had a shot playing with world class talent and not slogging away at Crystal Palace and Swansea only to be sold in 2-3 years as they haven't scored 25 goals and had 10 assists.
and your the moron who consider himself a critic , have seen you criticizing others , point proven a dumbass who has no logic just dumbness

Agreed but you can't play those guys and expect to challenge for the title as well. If Tammy is your back up striker and RLC your third choice mid then you must be satisfied to challenging for a CL spot at best. The quality of depth in the top PL teams is only increasing. And the biggest thing is, we cannot financially compete with our current revenue streams, so we need to challenge or we risk being left behind.

See what your saying but in all fairness would we be in any worse a position if we had Tammy in place of batman and rlc in place of Baka or ddw, preferably Baka at the moment as I feel ddw has done ok but we could even be using baker (a stretch I know) instead of ddw there we have saved close to £100mil to spend on a truly world class player then the whole team benefits and these youth players get to actually prove their worth or lack thereof and the club can act accordingly next window.

Sure but all that is hypothetical and in hindsight. At the beginning of the season we were current champions - expected to challenge again. A team in that position, with that goal, would never pick someone like Tammy as a backup striker.

Then you have to consider players like Hazard, Courtois, even Morata before he signed - Would the Belgians renew if the club decided to forego a title challenge to focus on youth development? Would Morata have signed? Hazard is into his peak now, a player of his caliber needs to be playing with the best players and at a club pushing hard for titles.

but we are signing like so many of youth players which even i dont understand for what , all we do is loan them again and again to some other clubs , our players will surely leave its already time and everyone is able to see the fall of chelsea

So Liverpool gets Van Dijk, Arsenal get Aubameyang, United gets Sanchez and we get... Barkley.

Any confirmation of those 2?

Btw, another underwhelming window.

PS - we might also get Carrol.

Sanchez is 2 years too old to justify the huge sums spoken about.

Without a transfer fee to pay,it might be worth taking a punt for 350k per week....but those salary demands on top of a 25-35 mill fee is lunacy. Arsenal would be laughing.

Not worth the financial outlay, but if the life does happen, it does show utd are backing their manager (rightly or wrongly)

I can certainly see where you're coming from but that's exactly the kind of thinking that resulted in Arsenal going for 14 years now without winning the PL, never winning the CL and currently playing in the second rate European cup competition. I don't know about their board, but if you think their fans are smiling I suggest you take a look at Arsenal Fan TV, it's downright depressing watch and who can blame them.

We're one step away from turning into an Arsenal ourselves. Before you know it, we'll be mentioning new stadium costs every time we miss out on a quality player, keep moaning about manc clubs "buying" titles and take fake pride in finishing 4th while losing our best players to more ambitious clubs.
