Aside from his nonsensical rants early in the season he's growing on me tbh, personally I find Klopp and Mourinho far more irksome.

Ironic since your name is the special one, shows how far he has fallen from grace

matic is just a terrible footballer

we def need to upgrade on matic next season

On my way back home and simply happy for not having died of a heart attack in the MHU. What the fcuk is going on with having to play the ball to the defender when it's so effing obvious how dangerous it is at times? Just kick the ball to the front of the pitch! Otherwise, they played well but so did we and we got the three points!

We've hardly had any penalties this season have we?  Liverpool, today, when else?  Is it fewer than other teams or does it just seem like it?

To answer my own question, only WBA, Manure and Boro have had fewer (1, 2, 2 respectively) and we've had 3 -the same as a number of other clubs.  Bournemouth have had 10!

Def agree. He actually said we were the best team in the league and said he wud like to learn from Contes approach, he also said conte shd be respected for letting italy play attacking football at the euros since we all know italy is a defensive team. He shows respect to the best team in the land Unlike our former coach who just spews jealousy and envy.  And just look at how Mourinho treats shaw in the media, i am def glad he is out of my football club

Shout out to the guy who sold me his spare season ticket out the front tonight. Didn't grab his name, but sat lower level west stand and was much appreciated.

Great game and handled the pressure well if not for Tibo's pass it could have been 2-0.

Pep only knows how to play one way, possession based, attacking football, the way he set up to play Monaco was naive on his part and it was embarrassing. Sure, he can moan that City played better football than we did, but compared to Conte, he's tactically inept.

I thought Matic changed the game for us for the better. Things started to work when came on. City got in behind Kante a lot in the first half which didn't happen often in the second.

We played a solid game, did enough, at the end it was more of a relief than jubilation for me. Teams like City are 'easier' to defend for us, the number of side ways short passes they play usually give us the time to regroup and block the route to the goal. To be fair, they haven't created much, the Stone 'sitter' in the end was harder than it looked. Another unforced error got them into the game, they didn't threaten at all until that point. Hazard was awesome, even in the second half everytime he got the ball he looked threatening, despite how many defenders around him. Pedro is developing into a solid RWB, although I must admit I never thought we would miss Moses. Costa did his job in general play, don't remember he had a shot on goal. We defended well apart from that moment of madness, never see KDB so contained in a big game like this.

After this game, I think it's fair to say Palace loss was a bit of a freak, but we do need to cut down those unforced errors. During the 13 game winning runs, we got away with almost all the unforced errors, now it seems every error pay dividends for the opponents.

SIGH of relief!

This was one hugely instrumental win.

Not only have we come back from a defeat, we did defeat City for a second time this season.

Very careless of Courtois in the beginning. We also almost conceded a late goal, which we were really fortunate to have maintained our composure.

Phew!

Great result, very good game from us. As some already have said I think changing Matic in the second half was a good move. Even though I particularly don't like his style and performance I think that in this match he was good. Hazard and Luiz were (of course) great.

I was so nervous through out the whole game that I time to time had to change to an other channel (to avoid seeing City scoring :)).

Such a nervy game that could have gone either way. Really it should have finished 2-2. Don't know how Stones missed from 5 yards out.

A couple of other points:

- Conte got his tactics spot on in the 2nd half bringing Matic on. They didn't carve us open as much.

- Zouma played I thought but was unfortunately was playing with no defensive cover in front of him

- Costa is off form but he did put a shift in

- Pedro looks out most dangerous player part from Hazard

- Hazard needs to develop a better penalty

Kompanys touch put it behind him, and after spurs result it seems the universe also hates tottenham

Matic was also responsible for their two biggest chances with his schoolboy marking of John Stones. CM is a must upgrade for me next season, both Fab and Matic have major weaknesses when paired with Kanté.

To be fair I think that was @just vomplainkng about Luiz and in that first half he was all over the shop. Thankfully he got it together
