We have outplayed atletico madrid twice. They are arguably the 3rd best team in spain. Barcelona are beatable and that's why I actually wanted them over any. We have the psychological advantage and they won't have wanted to draw us. I am 100% confident in that draw.

We would have drawn one of Juve, Madrid or Bayern if we had finished first anyway because we never have any luck in these draws.

Also, I think it's stupid how it's head to head in the group stage.  It should go on goals scored.

Good draw that. Messi vs hazard, morata vs suarez. Kante vs busquets. Fabregas vs iniesta. I like it. Gotta love a good barcelona vs Chelsea game, plus build up will be great. 

So the only realistic target for this season left is to end among the top four in PL :(

Disagree, head to head is the most relevant way of deciding which of any two teams has performed better than the other. Shouldn't come down to how many goals you can put past a ten-man Qarabag, Roma deserved to be first after utterly humiliating us.

That's your opinion. Atletico have been terrible so far this season, they were dire in the groups.

Barca have been really impressive and have the best defensive record this season in the groups. They are running away with La Liga and not been beaten in 15 games domestically and also the 6 group games.

Anyone can beat anyone on their day and I'd love to do them but watching both of us this season I can only see one winner here. Unless we go big in January but the best players tend to be cup tied.

That's just my opinion

I know I’d prefer Barca to any of the ones you’ve mentioned above.

Haha, it's almost set up for Fabregas to come off the bench and sink Barca hearts with a wonder strike. I wouldn't bet on it though Chelsea in the UCL are somewhat unpredictable.

Watch from 26.20 here. Wouldn't excactly be super hard for Alonso to keep an eye on "Barcelonas" ball here when there are only two and the other guy just holds them in the palm of his hands before dropping them into the bowl.
Not saying he did but Xabi could easily have picked Barcelona instead of Besiktas for us there if he wanted.

Horrible feeling that we beat Barcelona  in amazing fashion then choke to Man City afterwards. If there was a choice between the going out now or then I'd rather Barcelona knock us out.

Altho if it's not man city then that's that doesn't matter 

would hate pep to beat us

Barca look good in the league, 1st and undefeated but that may be a bit of smoke and mirrors, squad wise they are at the weakest I've ever seen. 

I definitely think we can beat them.

Rigged...easy games for Utd, City and Loverpool.....still fancy our chances if we can win the game at home by 2....but no doubt we'll play a PL game on Sunday and play Barca on Tuesday.

Barcelona are still a top side, but we can take them. We always go up against them as underdogs and we always give them a tough game, let's do the same again this year. Just remember, we are not the team they would have liked to come up against.

Love this, when we play Barca it always feels like a derby game in Europe, reminds me of 2012.

not gonna be easy we will have to play out of our skins to get anything. But you never know.

 

i really don’t know how Liverpool/united and city keep getting an easy ride.

 

Barca's away record in CL knockout games is rather sketchy, away to fellow big teams i can't actually recall many wins. We must take advantage at The Bridge, can see a 2-0 if we show up and apply ourselves correctly, which will give us something to hold in Spain.

Look guys put it this way, you gotta beat teams like Barcelona to win this trophy whether it's in the 1st knock out part of the comp, or in the Semi-Final/Final.

If we some how manage to get through then we only have to contend with the other couple of big ones left. Easy! :D
