We do love to turn on our own players quickly

Terrible isn’t it, god forbid I turn on a player who refuses to play for the club he’s contracted to.

Did his twin brother play against qarabag?

f**k you Stim :laugh2:

Alright maybe I’m pissy at Luiz, but why isn’t he playing in these games? He’s our best defender... It’s clear he’s been in a row with Conte and was more than happy to sit out of games. Important games.

1 error.

He had an error also in the crystal palace game by putting in a pussy tackle in midfield, i really wish conte swallows his pride and replaces baka with Luiz in midfield. Baka needs to be eased into the league and can def learn from the bench, over time he will be a MONSTER AMONG MEN but right now he is still developing

Good result really . Not an easy place for one of the big boys to go to.

However given how poor they are at the back that we only scored with a fluke cross is quite disappointing.

Liverpool goal conceded by our assist? Thanks, I realise it was a fluke, but surely Bakyoko.

Willian, thank you for levelling things up for us even though no one seemed to be expecting your shot on goal.

Disappointment with Morata for not really doing anything. Liverpool seemed to be in control of the game. We looked towards countering most of the time. We did seem to lose a bit of midfield control and hence not a great game.

We really should be winning against Liverpool at the very least given our decent record against them. A draw doesn't help us much since we are so far behind. There is no room for slipping points away.

Can't help but feel we would have scored more if cesc started..Eden was great first half but looked alone at times . Having said that, earning a point late on after conceding first is not the worst result.

Not a dreadful result in isolation considering we had to fly back from Baku, had less time to prepare than Liverpool and were playing in Anfield, but this probably ends our chances of catching Man City.

Was surprised that Cahill and Drinkwater started. How did they go?

Like most others I’d start drinkwater ahead of Baka right now, Fab drinkwater Kante if we are going to play 3 midfielders. I hope Moses is back soon.

Pedro looks less of a starter this season. I think we need another wide attacking player to give us more attacking options. We are too dependent on ha are and Morata  hazard is reliable but Morata in front of goal is still only there one game in 2

Anyhow I think we are doing ok against the other top teams save for the Man C game

Just fine. Drinkwater had a good game kept Coutinho relatively quiet and Cahill wasn't comfortable with Salah but he restricted Salah well enough.

Goal came from Salah drifting in from the right.

That was a good point and I'm relieved we  didn't lose. Everyone saying they were disappointed at our performance should look at the facts. We made a 6,000 mile return journey on Wednesday and the jet lag must have been horrendous. Liverpool had the advantage as they were fresher and were at home. The 3 man midfield worked because Liverpool didn't get a shot on target first half. Bakayoko is a liability in midfield. He was  at fault for the SAlah goal. He handed it to him on a plate with that outstreched leg. Too many mistakes from him in too many matches. Drinkwater was solid, Christianson superb, Dave was MOM with Salah I thought, Hazard was fantastic first half until he took a boot from Salah. Subs should have come on a bit earlier and Fabregas was pulling the strings when he came on. Willian looks to be coming back to his best. We need Moses back to replace Zappacosta. All in all I'm pleased with taking a point at Anfield. We are beginning to look like our old selves in recent matches. Ciiteh will  win the title so it's a  chase for second. I hope we can do it.

Before that match, Liverpool had only conceded 1 goal at home all season and were unbeaten.

Baka had his worse game for us but some of the flak he is catching is ridiculous. He stepped up early off an injury to help us beat Tottenham and has been key in big games like the atletico and Man Utd wins..

He's raw technically but will get better, I also expect some of sluggish passing / tackles are due to fatigue, remembering that he didn't have a pre season and has been playing nearly every game.

Excited to see Drinkwater come in and he had a good game. A 3 of him Fab and Kante for the next match would be interesting to see!

Zappa had a storming first half as well but nothing went right in the second - dissapponting but the potential is there

Thought Salah's non celebration was strangely amusing. The bloke barely played for us. But fair play to him!

You can put the man in Liverpool but not Liverpool in the man, nice to see a bit of class from that horrible club.

That's what I think as well. We had a good first half, and our midfield dominated the game during that half, with Baka playing well. During the second half we lost the control of the game and you could see how many errors were committed by our players. It was Baka who made a fatal mistake, but the whole team was in disarray after Salah kicked Hazard (and he disappeared). With Zappa it was the same, good first half and like most of the team, worst second half. I think they were tired in that second half.

The marathon midweek (late week really) trip did have an effect and was clearly noticeable in the second half performance. Klopp also played to it if you look at his starting 11. A good point and I hope that talksport prick enjoyed it.

I thought it was due to the terrible shooting in Egypt?

Yeah, can't agree with you both more. Danny drink & kante in midfield with Fabregas. Cesc hasn't got the legs to run box to box but just needs to pull the strings as he does majesticly & let the other two do the donkey work.

He isn't. It is all down to opinion, Luiz has reverted to type this year, the faults we all know are there have returned. Christensen is in the team on merit at present and should continue to hold down the shirt until he no longer deserves it.

Bakayoko was awful. He seems to be so easy to bypass. Yards off the pace, no physicality despite the size and seems tO take forever to turn and move his body.

Someone needs to seriously kick him up the backside.

We get absolutely nothing off refs, and today was another example. Michael Oliver has always been very poor with us and today was no exception.

Hazard continually fouled in the first-half, there should have been at least three bookings. One incident he skipped past a defender on the touchline and the defender puts his arm around him and drags him back. No card. If you don't book players they'll continually foul and eventually Hazard went quiet, after another foul worthy of a booking, this time by Salah. Hazard never fully recovered. Shame because he was mesmeric up till then, he was absolutely bang at it, what a f**king player he is.

Considering the fact this was a tough away game and considering we arrived back home at 6am on Thursday morning, I thought we were simply outstanding. We showed our quality today. Everybody watching will be in no doubt we are a damn good side and we deserved to win. We missed chances, we had stonewall penalty shouts waved away, as usual, and had our final ball been better, we 'd have romped home at a canter.

The defender goes straight through the back of Morata. I don't know if he got the ball or not. It doesn't matter. It's a foul. You can't tackle like that. Anywhere else on the park it's a foul. That's a pen. Late on it looked like we had another one with Willian when he was clipped, and Hazard was caught by a trailing leg just outside the box in the second-half, yet inevitably it wasn't given. Despite all that we kept on going and we got our just desserts. The fact it was a flukey goal made it all the sweeter. We deserved that. No way did we deserve to lose.

Regarding the players, Zappacosta has his merits but he doesn't look good enough to me. Christensen is a real find. Dave was outstanding as he is every week. Drinkwater played well but Bakayoko wasn't at the races, he had a really poor game for me, and made a very sloppy mistake for their goal. Kante was immense and unfortunately Morata didn't get a sniff. That first-half from Hazard was ridiculous. His footwork was incredible. He made them look like fools time and time again.

Well done the manager and well done the travelling fans. We showed what we are about today. We stood strong, we were resilient, and we showed quality. We're a really good team and we should all be really proud. That's a tough game we've just negotiated and I'm feeling really good about it all. I just wish we would get a fair deal off referees.

Spot on mate
