A shambolic team performance with some absolutely shocking individual performances for good measure.

The officiating was similarly shambolic. Pedro got what he deserved, Willian was very wrongly booked and almost certainly should have had a penalty and Morata's, well not sure it was a pen but I have seen them given so was never a booking for diving. His own fault for the second yellow but was provoked by the piss poor officiating.

Always fancied we'd win it somehow and it might sound perverted to say it but I've not had as much entertainment watching us for ages. Some pure comedy football from Bats, Bakayoko, Zappa and Morata. Where do we go from here?

do you mean that a team of our size and resources should have won, or do you mean on the balance of play we should have won.

If it's the former i agree with you, if it's the latter i'm not so sure to be honest, Deino.

Former. The latter is best to be forgotten by the fans. I hope Conte keeps the team's temperament in check and channel the anger into positive results. Can't be losing heads in last minutes of games.

I think Morata was a victim of his own reputation, the boy who cried wolf too many times. The ref saw him repeatedly falling on his arse at the slightest touch, so the decision was to err on the side on caution.

However, Willian had a solid penalty shout - the laws of the game clearly state that the offence is commited if the player trips or attempts to trip an opponent.

The ref and the VAR system failed miserably in this case.

Guys, I know we're fans and emotions run high especially during a game but let's not forget Morata was brought on becuase we needed a goal. It was a calculated risk in giving him minutes on the basis we were playing a team 13th in the championship and it would be a good chance to regain his confidence.

In his time on the pitch he missed an open goal with his foot, he also headed directly at the keeper from inside the 6 yard box. He dived to the floor from virtually every challenge include grabbing his face from the very fisrt tackle.

Even if his penalty wasn't a dive it was still bl**dy soft.

I know it is a cliche calling these blokes thick but having got nothing, nada, not a single decision from the tw@t of a ref all game, was it really the actions of a senior leader of the team, the attacking spear of our side, to go down so easily and then jump in the refs face immediately after.

I genuiney think if Ron Harris walked onto the SB pitch Morata would literally cack his pants.....and Ron's 73 ffs!!

I do think it regs are going to book simulation, there has to be a rule change to appeal the yellow if it's wrong. Personally I feel Morata's was contact but no penalty but it could have been given softly. Willian was 100% and Pedro is diving cheating twat for his yellow.

Was there a meltdown ? Came on late deliberately.Well we are through and they were good penalties. The ref reminded  me of that Barcelona night.Bring on the geordies.....UP THE CHELS !

Not really tonight. Mainly good humoured disbelief at a pretty dire performance.

Zappacosta and Bakayoko should be nowhere near the team for the rest of the season. Give Sterling, Ampadu and Hudson-Odoi chances. So bored of watching the same boring lethargic tactics every week.

would like to see Kenedy played higher up the pitch, think he would get found out defensively against better teams, but I reckon he could offer something different higher up

What an evening....

Poor, slow and disjointed from start to finish. Always a gamble making a number of changes but this was almost a step too far.

Bakayoko and Batman were poor and the lack of competition for Morata is painfully obvious. With the red card for Morata, it leaves us up sh*t creek for striking options for a couple of games. Kenedy had a good game but like somebody has said, he could get caught out defensively against better teams.

We're through and now it's onto the Geordies but it was too close for comfort.

Just got back from from the match. Kenedy is a real talent, I thought he was outstanding. He offers a great attacking threat. Want to see him play more

Well done to Norwich for a spirited performance. They waited for us to switch off and then profited. To many below par Chelsea performers for me but we should of got the job done inside the 90 mins. VAR was farcical and the world has seen it to be so. The person in Shockley park should have their driving license revoked due to appalling eyesight. Pedro and Morata were silly boys. Willian needs to have his booking rescinded (I know the rules don’t allow this) as it was an appalling error by a less than adequate official. He should be relegated to Sunday morning league matches.

onwards and upwards. Not sure how we are going to beat the goons next week but I’ll be there to see it happen.

keep the faith
