Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

i don't think i want enrique as much as i try to convince myself it may be a good idea. what he's achieved is great, but it was with the best front 3 in europe at the time and a brilliant midfield to boot. apart from that, enrique hasn't achieved a whole lot else and been relatively unsuccessful elsewhere.

sarri is a good choice, but hasn't achieved anything (yet) and you could even argue that napoli are doing well this season because juventus are not as good as they've been previous seasons, and the same applies to the chasing pack too such as inter, ac milan, roma etc.

tuchel is still an unknown in what he's capable of, but he's had his own run ins with the dortmund board. apart from that, he does look up to pep and klopp and their style of play, and apparently uses youth.

allegri has achieved a lot and shown he's capable of winning the domestic trophies and fairing amazing in cup competitions such as champions league. his footballing style leaves a bit to be desired though.

ancelotti would probably be my no.1 choice seeing as he's open to returning and had great success here previously. whether he will want to be backed to the hilt or allow the board to conduct their business as they wish is another issue. he is a elite level manager and won all there is to win in numerous top leagues in europe, and shown he is a brilliant cup manager to boot. could get us playing nice attacking football too. ancelotti is available, has been open in his willingness to return to chelsea/england, and is a fantastic manager.

jody morris would also be a different, but risky choice. however, who knows, maybe he could turn out to be pep mark 2 but at chelsea. he's done wonders with the youth team. doing it in the premier league, at the elite level is another thing entirely though.

But Napoli have been the most entertaining and attractive team to watch in Italy, even when Juve keep winning.

And for me entertainment is THE most single important thing. Whats the point of all this without it ?

Last night was compared to watching paint dry in the match thread. Thankfully Eden and Watford entertained us a little towards the end.

So for me Sarri coming in after 4 years of Jose and Conte would be a breath of fresh air, win or lose.

Next manager, next owner....

All skirting around the biggest problem, next mascot. Stamfords got way above his station lately, thinking he’s billy big bollocks and getting his missus a highly paid position with in the club. He makes me sick.

Unless there is a miracle in the second half of this game, how can he survive this?

We have a week until the next home game and it wouldn't surprise me if Conte was sacked in the coming days.

He should be he is taking the piss out of the fans.He will do the same against Barc he wants to leave?

Didn't they say that once about Arsenal, yet at this moment in time find myself agreeing.

I only want a manager that will win. Yes entertaining football is great but we’re in it to win it. Would hate to end up a great entertaining team but ultimately a failed one.

He'd be fighting with the players.

There are two players in our team who justify sacking the manager for the sake of keeping them and who we aren‘t able to replace: Tibo and Eden (+Kante in form but he is a calm character anyway). Since both will be gone anyway thanks to Conte, you could sell every player who picks a fight with Simeone.

Totally agree, what would we prefer, lose 5-4 in the nou camp next week, or play like we did yesterday but score a last minute winner. Win with entainment is the ultimate, but just win, is next best.       Champions league final 2008 we were better team and played some good stuff, 2012 we hardly created a thing and rode our luck and were second best through the game. Which game would we choose to watch a re run of?

Does it really matter who we bring in? it's just going to go wrong again after a season or two. We have had some of the best coach's manage our club, and they all get sacked. Any time we go on a bad run, it turns into a disaster which we only recover from when the manager is sacked. A new coach is then bought in and we go through a purple patch, then that is all forgotten about when bad form turns into disastrous form again and another manager is sacked.

It's a never ending cycle that i am sick to death of seeing at this club.

We need a proper plan going forward. What does Abramovich want? does he want flashy football, or does he want defensive counter attacking football? Whatever he wants, he needs to get a coach in that will build a squad capable of fulfilling his ideas. What we are doing at the moment is bringing in random players that don't suit the style of football the coach wants them to play. Then when that coach is sacked, we bring in another coach who needs new players to suit his style of football, but what he ends up with is players the last coach was left with and those players may not even suit his style of football, that is when Abramovich and the board need to come in and help. Don't just scout random players, get players in that the manager needs, players that have attributes that fit the style of football we are trying to play. Then we need to promote from youth, bring through the ones that have attributes that suit the type of football identity we are going for.

This won't happen though, we will just keep going with this mismatch of players and coach's.

Can‘t help but always think that Simeone and Chelsea is a match made in heaven.

Never going to come to Chelsea though. The only club he will leave Athleti for is Inter. Said it himself several times.

People bored with defensive football but then want Simeone I’m charge... go figure.

Lol That would be doubling down on defensive football.

Simeone would be the obvious choice. Very "similiar" style of play. Not afraid to put the youngsters in. Has worked on budget and player constraints.

Moreover, I dont think the problem is "defensive" football. We played "defensively" against barcelona and every fan to a man was lauding us that night. Problem is "negative" football. What happened at etihad was a shambles.

Watch ATM's games against barca. Its not just park the bus. They press, they try and go toe to toe. While ATM are well drilled/organized and pragmatic, they can also play some great football.

I would definitely want him here, but dont think it can/will happen.

As stupid as it sounded I thought we would benefit from a manager not having instant success, Mourinho was similar and then he won the league, I did not expect it to go so backward until I saw the transfers before the season started.

Something is going deeply wrong here and sadly us fans are in the dark about it, I really don't know who to blame because I don't think Conte is as innocent as so many people like to believe. Although it is quite odd that we've consistently had terrible title retaining seasons.

what will happen when he doesn't have players to press a team?
