Does tickle me how people in here will belittle the team for the purposes of their own agendas.  Apparently, a deflected goal is of less worth than one that isn't deflected, according to some.  An own goal counts less than one we score ourselves.

It's all part of the mentality that decries a match that we win because " we was lucky", or " we didn't deserve it" or "the other side deserved it more" or "we should have conceded x times".

(Actually, this sort of poster would most likely say "should of")

Some people need to get a grip and accept that if we score more than the opponent, then we deserve to win.  That's all there is to it.  Other teams can huff and puff and really work hard but, if they don't put the ball in the net, they don't deserve a goal.  If we don't score more than the other side, we don't deserve to win.  End of.

It's called the actuality of real life.  Not Football Manager on your telephone.

But we only have to put score Barca if it’s a 1-0 or 1-1. We have to match them after that. You should of known that.

I really don’t see anything but a Barcelona win, we will need a 2012 display and a few Lady Luck moments

courtois

azbi christensen Cahill

moses Kante bakayoko Fabregas Alonso

hazard giroud

LOL. Bakayoko and Cahill? No Willian? Cahill is as quick as tortoise and Bakayoko is a liabulty. Willian was excellent in the first leg, so why leave him out?

Oh come on, we totally battered Palace, we only "scrapped" it if you look at the score without context.

Without context??? We were better first half and they were better second half. They also had a goal wrongly disallowed. You are right we battered them but it only counts on the goals column not shots on target.  Same way we battered Barca in the first leg by striking both posts but ended up tying the game..

All in all i just hope we take our chances against barca

ok they have an away goal but we are away and they will try and score not shut up shop, it won't be 0-0, 0-1 we win, but not likely they will score, 1-1 its extra time we have the advantage at that point (if we score one they need 2) any score draw over 1-1 we win, so all we really need is a draw with goals, we can score, they will try and score, it's not as had a task as some are making out.....

Missing easy sitters counters the goals being deflections, if we Germany Braziled them in the first half they could have had no complaints and even that would have probably flattered them.

Some people watch games with homer glasses on. Bollucks, complete bollucks.

Not really sure what to think about this game. Known the position for 3 weeks and still have no clarity on whats going to happen.

What I will say is that if hazard is false 9 I can't help but feel the boys will take the pitch low on morale and we will be as good as beaten.

Massive games in PL coming up so whatever the result, a confidence boosting performance and a 9 coming back to form would be great.

Not sure why people are getting so pissed off with the false 9. Against Brighton away and Barca at home it worked superbly. Ok city away was hopeless but let’s fsfe it they are on another level. I’d be happy if he plays the false 9 again tomorrow. Going for 2-2. Alonso to nick it at the death!

The reason people are pissed is because it handicaps our best player and makes it easy to mark him. Hazard is most dangerous when he is facing the opponent with space to exprrss himself not when he is backing the goal and has a defender super tight to him. It is a defensive formation and puts the defense under immense pressure since there is no out ball . I am ok with starting the formation since pedro was rested at the weekend but Conte needs to have a plan b and c if things dont go to plan. I am sick of his slow substitutions.

Take for example Juventus coach Allegri's subs that changed the game against spurs in 7 minutes.

Will be Giroud or a false nine. When Morata came on Saturday he looked off the pace and lacking in upper body strength. My grandson just called from an Irish bar in Barca,he was very excited lol.We need an immense performance but we are Chelsea, you never know. For you football "experts" on here, believe in the coach.....UP THE CHELS !

I dont care who plays or in what formation as long as we get the job done.

I've faith that we'll give a good account of ourselves in Spain, after that its up in the air, anything can happen.

If we can muster up a performance like we did away to Madrid in the group stages we'll be well in this game.

Willian Will start and Will be our most important player. I would like to see Caballero. There might very will be penalty here and Caballero been brilliant when he played for us. I think he fits our system better than Courtois that seams to have his head in Spain already.

I think this will go down like this.

First 15 : nothing happens in the attack. Both defences remain untested, 0-0.

18' Barça scores (Suarez) 1-0.

25' we push forward and create our first serious opportunity.

30' we have a second chance to score, but score remains 1-0 for them.

34' Barça creates an important chance but Courtois saves it: still 1-0 for them.

37' We equalize (Hazard) 1-1.

43' We finish strong in the end of the first hald by hitting the post (Willian ^^) : still 1-1.

45' Half time: 1-1.

49' Barça push for it and create another important chance, Courtois with the save again, 1-1 still.

55' A fanstatic counter-attack only to see their keeper (ter stegen) saving it.

61' Hazard got booked for no apparent reason.

65' Barça scores (Messi) 2-1.

70' They hit the post, still 2-1 for them.

from 70' to 79' : 2 substitutions made within those 10 minutes and the score remains at 2-1 for Barça and the game is slowed down due to many fouls on each part.

80' We hit the post again (Moses or Zappa).

83' Paulinho/Dembelé/A barça palyer is close to kill it but Dave blocks his shot and saves us again... there's still hope but time is running out.

86' Kanté got booked for a soft foul on Messi: still 2-1 Barça.

87' A substitution is made for Chelsea.

90' 4 minutes of added time: we're keeping the ball now and Barça are defending their lives as we're giving our bodies to get that equalizer synonymous with qualification and victory.

90+2' Alonso wins our last corner of the game.

90+3' Giroud/Morata/Christensen/Cahill with the header scoring the last minute equalizer that see us through, 2-2!!!

90+4' Rudiger got sent off after a scruff with Busquets in midfield! He got sent off too!

90+4' Final whistle !!! 2-2!!!! We're through the QF of the UCL !!!

You've got a very vivid imagination mate, but I do like the added time scenario!

i hope every word of this comes true!!!

I'm not confident we are going through because it's the Nou Camp.

How many times do players get sent off there? Every single English team that goes to the Nou Camp gets a player sent off it's written in the stars. We lack those characters from 2012, sorry to be a dick but it's true. However, I'm more confident going in this with a 1-1 tie than I am if we won 1-0. If we won 1-0 Barca would be completely up for it and let's be honest they are the much better side than we are despite the intensity of a big Champions League game.

However, at 1-1 they have a chance of being complacent, just like they were when they were 2-0 up against us with 10 men.

I know people slag the false 9 tactics off but don't be too upset if you see Conte going with it, it worked last time. The City match wasn't about the false 9, it was the gameplan in general, we set out not to get dominated which was just spineless. It's time for Hazard to show his real price tag off to Madrid if he really wants to go there, having a good game against Barcelona would definitely do that.
