He took over well into the season though.

Recent seasons have confirmed for me just how far football has fallen in quality over the last 8 years. How many times have teams come back from losing positions in this competition in recent years? It's got to the point where a 4-0 lead isn't even good enough anymore.

Imagine being a Liverpool fan. The sudden change in emotion going from despair after last night to complete euphoria tonight must have given them whiplash.
