I’m sorry but this league is incredibly poor. Outside of the top 6 the rest are all dross who would be easily relegated in la liga.

These clubs get millions every year from the league and proceed to waste it on dross.

Almost all of the Van Djik money is on the bench today , doesn't help that Hughes is the manager .

Mark Hughes for some reason keeps getting top premier league gigs. Relegated Stoke and now stinking at Southampton. Wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up at Burnley after getting sacked here.

Yeah outside top 6 there really aint much after that, sure you can be had here and there but overall its piss poor atm. That teams have given up before steppig on the pitch vs city is a well known fact.........utter piss.

Why below-par managers continue getting jobs in the carousel that is English football is one of life's mysteries.

There are teams that are doing well outside the top 6 (which used to be top 4).

Bournemouth every year build in their foundations, looking better each time.

Everton seem to be back on the up.

They’ve only just come up but Wolves have a good little team, they just need goals but at least they try to play football.

Leicester deserve a shout too.

I'm watching highlights of City's game, and it's becoming laughable how opposition teams play against them. First goal, own goal, second goal, let Sterling run through unchallenged for an Aguero tap in (he was surrounded by 3 players and they still couldn't beat him) A little while after, City play with the ball in Southampton's penalty area without a single attempted tackle to stop them. Third goal, again no attempt to stop City scoring.

Seriously, why bother trying to compete with City when nobody even tries to stop them? No desire at all from the rest of the league (outside the top 6)

Overcooking it a bit aren't we?

You don't seriously think that Alaves/Espanyol would be in the Top 6 in the Premier League, do you?

I would even back Tottenham/Arsenal over Sevilla in a 38 game race.

As for Valencia/Villarreal, they're near the bottom of the table and I can't imagine them doing a whole lot better in the Premier League.

That leaves Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid as sides whom would IMO make the PL Top 6 on paper. Real Madrid are underperforming, whereas Atletico Madrid are definitely not the side that they were a few years ago.

That said, Southampton were spineless. I had them down for relegation when the season started and this performance hasn't done anything to change my mind. If anything, they've been more porous at the back than I expected.

A sculpture of Liverpool and Egypt football star Mohamed Salah unveiled in his home country is raising eyebrows on social media.

The artwork was put on display on Sunday at the World Youth Forum (WYF) being held in Sharm al-Sheikh.

It depicts the striker with his arms out wide in the goalscoring celebration he is known for.

But people have suggested it looks more like singer Leo Sayer or Marv the burglar from the film Home Alone.

And up until this season when they qualified for Europe Burnley were also doing well for a smaller club.

Think he is the new equivalent of an Allardyce he just doesn't realise it yet.

The comment on Yahoo compared it with Art Garfunkel which was clever.

It almost looks like it is modelled on a subuteo figure yet a caricature.

Nah; Allardyce is a better manager for mine.

Fulham really struggling vs Huddersfield. Suprised really as I thought they would do OK this season.

I'm not that surprised, although for mine they are talented enough to at least be out of the relegation places. I said at the start of the season that their approach to transfers reminds me of QPR, plus Vietto hasn't really fired.
