Saying that Essien is not even capable of playing in our current team and putting him down, over a player that scores a goal per 4 years. What else, Jorginho that has been our best passer and a key player always get overlooked here, but when Kovacic made 1 assist they overhyped it as if Jorginho doesn't make those kind of passes almost every second game...Ah I can think of another thing that is pathetic, to sum it all up, the overall lack of objectivity in this particular thread over a player that if you didn't watch him and only saw this thread you would think he is the best midfielder this club has ever seen pretty much...Also De Bruyne has how many assists so far in the league? How many goals? How many passes and chances created does Jorginho have? Both of them have been better than Kovacic. That's just being fair and objective.

That was definitely not his point, he's been calling people Kovacic fanboys. To be honest he's a prick and can never construct a coherent argument, he never reads other posts and always strawmans. IMO he's by far the worst poster on this forum, I haven't got anyone on mute but if I was to do so it would be him 100%.

You seem to be the expert here when it comes to what is a point of a discussion, not the first time I see you moving the goal posts This is not your first personal insult either and to be fair if someone were to go through your own post history they will find that you are very much biased specially towards Kovacic since you tried to put down one of our own past players in a very cheeky way. When I pointed it out you just simply tried to further more diminish Essien, so it's not me that can't change my mind, it was simply not acceptable for you to say "Yes Essien could have played in our system as well, I can give credit where it's due", you're just not that kind of a MMA profile picture guy. Adding that you had no problem with ganking up another user very fast after Kovacic scored his first goal, I don't see how you could possibly see yourself as a nice guy here, you're very agressive as soon as someone tried to be remotely objective about Kovacic. Now you state that it's not my point, to point out that Jorginho and De Bruyne could very easy be considered as better players this season, what was my point then? Since you know better than me tell the whole world, I mean I had no coherent argument according to you, ever? This is you, being as objective as you possibly can, I can simply say that you are way over your head here and obviously I'm not shy to put up the stats that would prove why Jorginho and De Bruyne are better, but then you will once again, move the discussion somewhere else so it really doesn't matter, at this point that would only do more damage to this thread than anything else. Feel free to mute me, after all I only offer another view point that you obviously don't want to hear it's too much for you. Better yet, I won't come to this thread ever again, that way I will not see you much anywhere else.

Better yet, I won't come to this thread ever again, that way I will not see you much anywhere else. Nope, not even going to engage with every point because you'll only misrepresent my views like you just did to me, Argo and Davey earlier. Truth is Michael Essien was my favourite player during 2006-2012. People gave you a good argument, your response was a 3-minute montage video and calling others fanboys which you have a habit of doing. The only person putting players down here is you, if you can find evidence of me putting Essien down then feel free, I did no such thing, he was a world class player in his prime here who stagnated due to injuries that weren't his fault. The whole Essien debate started in an attempt to put Kovacic down in the first place, I'm not knocking Just here but it was a pitiful attempt to undermine a player by saying "Well he's no Essien" and that's basically what it all stemmed from, at least with Just he doesn't read someone’s post then completely misrepresent it, unlike someone. You can have a reasonable debate with that person, and not get the sense as if you're speaking to someone who's 10 years old. And if my insult warrants a suspension, then so be it, I honestly couldn't help myself, you're by far the most unreasonable person on here and I've been on the other side of debate with just about everyone on this forum. But this is my last reply to you because I've already derailed this thread enough as it is. Edited November 30, 20196 yr by Slojo
December 1, 20196 yr Good to see Kovacic have another decent shot this time not a goal yet were unlucky that Giroud and Pedro did not capitalise on the keepers clearance.

He clearly has something against Kovacic (God knows why) so I get the impression he’s finding Kovacic’s top form very difficult to take. I quoted him earlier this season asking what he thought of Kovacic, after huge improvement. I knew he wasn’t a big fan, so was interested to see if his opinion has changed. He hasn’t replied, says it all really. Sorry if I didn't reply Dan. Please don't take it personally. My job requires me to travel quite extensively and be away from home. I was in Wales most of this week and didn't get to see the Valencia game. Only got to see the goals yesterday and it was a great strike by Kovacic. Hopefully the first of many more to come. I'm not sure what you want from me really. I have already said that Kova is performing a million times better than he was at any time last season and I am glad he is in the squad. Look back through this thread Dan, many people on here, not just me, didn't want us to buy him during the summer because he was consistently very poor under Sarri that is fact. For me Barkley was a better attacking option last season, and the stats backed that up. Nothing to do with your assumed Kovacic hatred or bias which you seem to be convinced I have. Look at the end of season table here from last season on page 2 of the thread. As scored by all of us on The Shed End. My view is, we need a major physical presence in our central midfield to dominate that area against the top teams think Essien, Viera, Keane, Ballack. Kovacic isn't that player, and nor is Jorginho. If we got that player Kovacic would be the player I would leave out to accommodate him because I think Jorginho is more influential to the type of football SFL is trying to play. That's it in a nutshell really. Edited December 1, 20196 yr by just
December 4, 20196 yr What a player he has been this season, another superb game, that's why he's not getting benched.
December 4, 20196 yr I think he is one of the best midfielders in the Prem. Add some goals and assists and he can't be brushed off from any 'best' list.
December 4, 20196 yr I keep saying it. He's world class. Rarely have I enjoyed watching a player so much.
December 4, 20196 yr The flashes of good we were seeing from him last season are turning into a permanent thing. Last season you would forget he was on the pitch until he was subbed off around the 70th minute, he just looks like a completely different player now.

December 4, 20196 yr Different class in a midfield two, in a three he's less influential. Keeps this up and he'll be our POTY.
