He had one chance that he couldnt even get under control, but thats all Costa would of needed love him or hate him. I know but Hazard was our creator, he was supposed to have more possession, the play just wasn't fast enough. I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses for Morata all the time, and Costa was brilliant at scoring in games with barely even getting a sniff at goal, he did that a lot during out 13 game winning stream, Middlesbrough away great example, didn't have a chance and somehow scored. Hazard usually thrives under pressure but he struggled today with the pressure, kept running into trouble and slowing the play down, ultimately slowing the play down worked in Newcastle's favour, even Pedro was trying to influence the game with a faster play whenever he got the ball out wide. This was a much better game for Giroud as he's more of a target man, but ultimately I think Morata did all he could do, besides not f**k up that chance he got with a terrible touch.

This is true, but it's been proven that if you speed up play and make intelligent runs, it will unlock these types of teams and rush them defensively which will wear them out bring out mistakes.

I am sure he suffered a knock on that play. the punk ass ref allowed the barcodes to play a hockey match & they almost came away w/ a point. That was a blatant elbow thrown by Yedlin into Giroud's grill. The match was the typical saying that if you are not cheating & you only cheating if you get caught. In the end, I think Alonso should have been given a goal. If Yedlin doesn't put his boot on the ball, either the ball goes into the back of the net or Barkley has a simple tap-in. Yedlin took the best approach in a bad situation. Sucks for him, but fuck fsw for his negative tactics. Even his own captain wasn't down w/ his plans. Bit of a stupid question, I've been commenting on it since it kicked off and I've been very vocal about the referee and Hazard being fouled all the time. Hazard has received worse in the past, Stoke a perfect example and he's still managed to come out on top. I won't say Hazard had a bad game, he didn't, but by his standards he did, we needed Hazard to be faster, instead, he stagnated the play more often than he ever usually does. I don't mean to pick on Hazard, it'll sound like I have an agenda here, there were a few players today that slowed the play down and couldn't break the Newcastle defence. I thought Kovacic was a bit sloppy at times, and Kante was too slow at switching the play and taking too many heavy touches, Pedro also should have done better.
August 26, 20187 yr I get the guys saying we were slow etc, but I think for this game its a bit harsh. Rise Newcastle players were well drilled. They are strong and fast. They are so hard to break down and they were at home. I'm actually very proud of the way we played and would take that performance any day any time Edited August 26, 20187 yr by dhidza

We are still growing under Sarri, it'll take time for us to become the team that he wants us to be. We've still made excellent progress, evidently look at the possession, but we didn't do enough with it. So I think the team should have its critics for where we need to improve and what we need to do better on.
August 26, 20187 yr haven't seen sucj outregious ferrerining againsz us in ages the linesman fisrt thought to raise the flag but he changes his f**king retarded mind

Look at the way he jumps into Giroud at full speed. I am in no doubt that he meant that.

Im sorry, the same UTD who are the only top 6 team who play defensive football with a manager ruining every skillful player he has ever had. They are just so biased and we dont have enough of our own pundits to even the score. I malso made the mistake of going on AFTV after we beat them and to a man they all thought they deserved to win. Im sorry, so we were camped in their half the entire second half and they deserve to have won. Give it a few more games and they will have to take notice of us. Btw if anyone has access to the Football Writers Podcast on Bt id reccommend watching it. Journalists who actually know what they are talking about, and they have said the reports behind the scenes of Sarris methods are revolutionary. Honestly prefer us being under the radar like this, just slowly winning game by game and accumulating points. Of course biased idiots like Rio is always going to bumlick Utd. He was always a worse defender than Vidic and Terry and it eats him up inside knowing he wasn't even that good and just won silverware because of Fergie being as good as he was

Yes Alonso's foul probably wasn't a penalty, but Yedlin did elbow Giroud and was that elbow mentioned nearly as many times in the immediate aftermath of the goal as much as it was in the lead up to the penalty? Of course not, they need to try and make their bias less obvious and that co-commentator should stick to championship football The commentator was Andy Hinchcliffe & he should not allowed to be near a football studio ever again, laughed when he said about the pen, "I do not like that at all" but thousands of Chelsea supporters did. Also Karma is such a bitch.
August 26, 20187 yr If that was Liverpool United or city, it would've been described as the type of win you need to be champions. I can't see many teams playing as defensive as Newcastle did all season, even at the bridge. Referee was awful, got the pen right but allowed some awful tackles to go unpunished. Sloppy goal to concede, even if it was a foul, alonso could have maybe got closer to block the cross, Luiz was ball watching and on his heels, and kepa could maybe have done better although it was a powerful header from close range to be fair. Utterly dominant display in midfield, and we are improving game by game, we need to be more clinical when we get half a chance though. 2 home games now against Bournemouth, and Cardiff, then 2 trick games away at the pikeys, and home to the dippers. We will no doubt know what our title chances are like after these next 4 games.
August 26, 20187 yr It’s more of a shrug or a push away than a swinging elbow, and the way Grioud went down just a little bit too late made it look a bit iffy. Overall I thought this and the penalty just about cancelled each other out. Both decisions seem to be either clear-cut right or clear-cut wrong depending on who you speak to, which suggests to me that both views are wrong. I’d probably care a lot more about this if we didn’t win the match. Edited August 26, 20187 yr by bluedave

August 26, 20187 yr hard fought victory and I think justice was done in the end with Yedlin's o.g. He should have seen red for the elbow on Giroud but I doubt we'll see any retrospective action most importantly it looks like out guys are playing for Sarri and each other
August 26, 20187 yr We won at our bogey ground, that's the main thing. Alonso a beast once again, Rudiger with that almost screamer, and JORGANTIC dominating the midfield as usual. 3 points, job done.
August 26, 20187 yr btw did anyone catch Eden questioning David Luiz about the barcode's goal? That was funny, but I like Eden put pressure on the defense to do better. If he is not the Captain, then he at least is the Co-Captain of Chelsea.

August 26, 20187 yr great result how ever they played !! if that elbow had been from a chelsea player before chelsea scored the media would be all over it and the FA would give a retrospect ban for sure !! still fcuk them !! 3 points from a well difficult away fixture !!

August 26, 20187 yr Happy for the 3 points. Sad to see side show Bob is back. Luiz is a great player when he's serious and gives full effort but when cavalier SSB shows up he becomes a liability. Rudiger is a beast. and MOTM for me.

Id only keep Luiz around for being a leader and character in the dressing room. On the pitch, defensively at least, hes woeful. Really want to see Christensen starting again together with Rudiger. They'll make a beast pairing
August 26, 20187 yr SO HAPPY WITH THIS WIN!! f**king newcastle are proper scum. Even when we played defensively in the past we never hunted down and roughed up players the way they did. Disgusting tackles. What was Luiz doing for that goal? Poor defending. And we need to move the ball faster. Eden needs to release the ball quicker and dribble when around the box where defenders will be scared to foul him for a penalty, not in the middle of the pitch slowing down play. Good 3 points.
August 26, 20187 yr Alright I know luiz is not the best defender and all but seriously watch the goal and watch all of our defenders just stand their and make no effort to come and defend, before or during the cross. That was a group failing.
