August 27, 20187 yr Apart from the nonsense written in the Times, other papers are claiming Abramovich either has no plans to sell up and is looking to resume the ground redevelopment, or is just looking to sell a minority stake to generate some investment. It's almost as if these stories are based on guesswork.
August 27, 20187 yr Don't think he will sell, he might eventually at some point but not now. Every time we do well the media is riding us with fake news, think we are the most hated club in British media.
August 27, 20187 yr I can't see this happening anytime soon. Do owners usually allow £70m to be spent on a player if they are about to sell up? Usually when football owners are looking to sell, you see less activity in the transfer market. Some even go as far as to not bother to put any money in to improve the squad.
August 28, 20187 yr good article by Martin Samuels in the Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6103703/Youve-not-paid-attention-think-Chelsea-fall-without-Roman-Abramovich.html
August 28, 20187 yr Doubt his is true but if it is, masoor’s brother was apparently interested in buying Liverpool but they didn’t want to sell.

Found this buried down the bottom of the page- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6100521/Chelsea-owner-Roman-Abramovich-plans-resume-500million-redevelopment-Stamford-Bridge.html f**k the lot of them. Thanks for posting that link..the article basically negates all the rumors being pushed by the media about the club. Even if he’s just looking to sell a minority stake in the club to another investor, I feel relieved knowing that Roman is dedicated/committed to the project (and he isn’t going anywhere) and the fact that the stadium redevelopment plans are back on are a testament to that. August 28, 20187 yr The press never like Chelsea, anytime we go through a good patch theyre out trying to de-stabilise it and spread a load of sh*t. When we go through poor patches their out with the knives looking for their pound of flesh.

It’s been reported that Roman wants to raise 50% of the one billion stadium cost. 25% of the current value of Chelsea should cover that cost. Am I being too logical about the whole situation?

'Logical', wash your mouth out, surely we can't be that transparent
March 19, 20197 yr The Times again claiming that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is interested in buying the club though has baulked at our valuation of £2.5b. The club continue to take the stance that it is not for sale but with Abramovich continuing to remain absent from the club and indefinitely putting the new stadium build on hold Ratcliffe thinks we can be persuaded to sell.
March 19, 20197 yr My thoughts, if ever there was a time to sell the club, it's now. Roman's visa problems have clearly irked him. Has he lost interest in the club at all? The abrupt cancellation of the new stadium would suggest a reluctance to continue any significant investment in the club. He's now handed over the majority of the day to day running of the club to Marina Granovskaia and hasn't attended a game home or abroad all season. The Sarri appointment was apparently driven by Granovskaia too so Roman is happy to delegate even the biggest club decisions now. Ratcliffe has invested in a sailing team and is set to finance UK cycling team, Team Sky so he's looking to build a sporting portfolio by the looks of it. Grew up as a United fan but is apparently a Chelsea season ticket owner, with a wealth said to be in the region of £21b he's significantly richer than Roman is, would he be looking to increase the level of investment in the club? I can't see why you'd want to buy a football club otherwise because it's very difficult to make any money from it.

Hopefully we can go back to being the bastards we were in the 03/04 summer where we signed someone nearly every other day.
March 19, 20197 yr Said in another thread. Love Abramovich for his time here, his investment took us to the top of the game. But, the club at the moment is rotten to the core, so maybe a change in name above the door is what we need to get back to the top table.
March 19, 20197 yr It's absolutely time for him to sell. The interest is clearly not anything close to what it used to be and he's left the club in charge of a woman who's managed to run this club to the ground in record time. We are long overdue a acid-wash starting at executive-level.
March 19, 20197 yr To change from the owner that loves the club to a ManUtd fan owner, hm that would lead the club to an epic failure in no time.
March 19, 20197 yr I thing you'd be amazed how fast Ratcliffe would become a Chelsea fan...…..about a minute and a half after writing a £2 billion check.
March 19, 20197 yr Forever grateful for everything Roman has done for the club, never dreamed we would be the self sustaining powerhouse club we are today before he arrived. That being said with all the sh*t that has happened with the Visa issues/putting the stadium rebuild on hold etc.. maybe the ambition has gone, you can see why he might be thinking now is a good time to sell.
March 19, 20197 yr I still love you Roman, don’t listen to this unappreciative lot! (He’s a member here you know)

When you get into the football industry allegiances change, not every one can end up at their boyhood club be it owner, manager or player. For example Harry Redknapp was apparently an Arsenal fan, Allardyce was a Wolves fan, Shaw and Lukaku were card carrying Chelsea fans and De Bruyne is trying to prolong 29 years of hurt to a club he supported during part of that run.

If the way things are being run now are not to his liking, he can change it with one phone call, e-mail, or summons to his yacht. He chooses to leave it in Marina's hands, so he's either happy with the way things are, or he's not giving it the attention he used to.
