Not sure there was a presser. We were jaded in the midweek game after two mentally tiring Liverpool clashes. So we had a let down. On the plus side only Kovacic and Willian are likely to be tired after 90 minutes midweek. I’d ctually like Morata to start again but he won’t. 

Pedro may get the nod over Willian as the latter has started most games recently. 

 

We should get over Southampton and I think we will.

I have a feeling for some reason we wont see Kovacic start this game.. not after 90mins midweek. I'll take a punt at this team reckoning that the substitution made mid week will affect the team.

With Morata scoring against Vidi I would start him in this game. Play Barkley if Kovacic needs a rest and Pedro in for Willian.

I'd believe a full squad for that one of course. I expect huge possession in our favour of course, but a tight game. Might get a late goal in our favour as we did last year or in 2016 with that ivanovic's header! Might end up in a 2 1 win for Chelsea. And since I'm great with "predictions", this might actually end up in & 3 0 win for us haha ! But in all seriousness, a tight game is to be expected with the win for CFC after a pretty dominant game (possession and shots etc) with a late winning goal for chelsea (85th min or later).

This and every game in the PL is a must win. Competition is tough and the margin for error minute.

Tonight, however, marks the duel between the other two top teams. We drew against Liverpool at home and the City match at Anfield makes it much more important for a win at St. Mary's, where we have a decent record.

Am hoping for a draw on the other game and a win for us.

Must be starting Barkley because Kovacic played for longer against Videoton. 

His greater goal threat could be useful as well. 

Why is Willian starting instead of Pedro? Are there still issues RE Pedro's fitness?

Soton going with 2 strikers, so hopefully it will be an open game. 

Willian starts again, should've been rested in midweek. 

Barkley over Kovacic is a bit of a weird one, Barkley had a bit of swagger when he came on the other night, I think his confidence is high after the England call up, so let's hope it translates into a good performance. 

Strong bench today. Hopefully we won't need it, and the 11 can kill the game off. 3 points is vital with city playing Liverpool.

spuds and arsenal 6 in a row... we should stop watching only City and Liverpool for now. 

Can't use the Europa League excuse if we don't get a win here. Arsenal seem to be handling it well enough so there is no reason why we shouldn't either.

Well after watching RLC on Thursday I can see why he was left out of the squad. He is not mobile enough for me played very static hardly created any space for himself... Receiving the ball with his back to goal rather than running into space like Barkley and Koviac. I wasn't the only one to notice most of our crew at the game said the same thing.

Southampton have some good forwards when on form yet still think we will win even with Europa midweek.
