May 8, 20206 yr City should be a very desirable destination but two seasons without CL is not ideal. However at the moment I think Chelsea is a pretty desirable place to end up as well. Sancho could see it as a beginning of a path for him. Build this side to become European elite once more with some of his mates in London. From all the three clubs I think Utd is the riskiest side to end up. I still don't see what Ole is trying to do there or the club itself actually. They lack a leader there.

I'm not sure Ole knows what he's doing there, looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights to me. I'm sure if we really wanted Sancho we could get him, but with the World and Football climate at present not sure we really want him.
May 22, 20206 yr Author I hope we get this fella. He's a fantastic youngster. Bit pissed that United seem to think they have this in the bag.
May 22, 20206 yr My concern is that Ornstein (Correspondent -- The Athletic / ex-BBC) has said we haven't been in contact with any entourages since January -- United and to a lesser extent Liverpool have -- which is not too long before we confirmed the Ziyech signing. He's nothing short of an exceptional player, but Sancho is a top 3 youth talent, having the potential to be a top five forward in the world as barely anybody has achieved the kind of prowess he's shown at his age, so it'd be disappointing if we decided to go for one or the other, when really having both would elevate us back to we've often been, and fixing the winger position for general firepower. May 22, 20206 yr I think at this point, the only way I'll be ok with us not getting Sancho, is if we get Havertz instead.

Sancho is superb but he won't be moving until the market stabilises. Dortmund are too smart for that. Havertz is a funny one. I'm honestly not sure where he fits. He has huge overlap with Loftus Cheek, Mount and critically Ziyech. He seems to occupy that right inside channel same place as Ziyech does his best work. He seems like an answer to a question that is already answered. I love his left footedness but I havent seen him be the guy who opens up the angles on the left side of the pitch. His passing isn't that great either, better with the ball at his feet. Jury is out for me as to whether he would be worth the fee. More and more I think this is a summer to find value and strengthen our defence and then wait for next season to pay huge fees on attackers.

Only 2 years left on his contract though and Dortmund are a selling club. They have to be thinking about selling him this summer if they want good money for him.

United's results were a disaster and I imagine other teams will be too.

They don’t actually; they could still get their €120m in Jan with 18mths left (loan back till end of season like Pulisic), or wait till next summer & sell for €100m with a year left (like with Hazard). I wouldn’t be budging on the price if I were them because of the pandemic.

A trio of Rashford-Greenwood-Sancho is scary & would haunt the league for years. Just get on the phone & ask Dortmund to name their price. Him along with a LB (Telles?) would do nicely this summer, then try & shift Barkley & Jorginho since he is itching for a move. He is a guarantee to notch at least 15+ contributions in goals + assists even in a bad year, and the nearest young talent next to Mbappe.
June 1, 20206 yr He is a special talent no doubt about it. He would fit Liverpool so seamlessly. Dortmund play Klopp-football no matter who their manager is. Super-quick passing and always forward... Thankfully Frank's football is very close to that so he would fit our system as well pretty nicely... I have always felt he is going to somewhere else than Chelsea.
June 2, 20206 yr My guess is either Chelsea forks out a large sum for him this window or he stays at Dortmund another year. All reports indicate Man United don’t have their accounts sorted to facilitate a purchase at this time.
June 5, 20206 yr I think he spends 12 months at Dortmund. The pandemic and last year if his contract wont bother them. They let Lewandowski leave on free. Probably better they wait 12 months, as im sure more teams will be willing to throw big money at him, even as he enters his last year.
June 6, 20206 yr From reading all the reports, I’m not sure any other clubs are in a financial position to make this deal happen. A lot of clubs are popping the brakes on their transfer deals whereas Chelsea and Roman (apparently) have seen this as an opportunity to smash their foot on the accelerator. For example, there was a report that the reason we’re pushing to get Ziyech & Werner done this season is because it goes on this seasons results which are empty due to the ban, which means there’s room for a big summer signing. I think either Sancho or Havertz would be incredible signings, personally would prefer the former and that could see us not needing to buy another attacker for 6 years or more!! They’re both generational talents.

Is this in regards to FFP? It makes sense. But it does appear that FFP is going to be relaxed at least for the summer window.

Yeah I seen that it’s going to be relaxed as well but I’m sure it will still be hovering around. So if it’s possible for us to split the business across the two years alongside the relaxation, then it’s a win-win for the club and our bookkeeping.
June 6, 20206 yr I don't think there is enough room for Sancho anymore. It sounds silly because he's one of the best talents in the whole world but with Ziyech and Werner we are stacked nicely, both of them expect to be starters but so does Tammy and Pulisic and then you have Mount and CHO's development to consider. Once Giroud leaves next year we will need a backup striker but when it comes to wide positions we already have Ziyech,Pulisic,CHO and Werner's natural position is on the left side, wide as well. Sancho might just be the transfer target we would be fine ignoring as long as Pulisic and CHO continue to grow.
June 6, 20206 yr I think ignoring him would be a huge mistake, All of Dortmunds play goes through him and at only twenty he looks incredibly composed in everything he does. If we genuinely have one seasons funds plus the Morata and Hazard money then we should be looking to get him signed asap. There's talks of £85M for Chilwell which is bonkers.

No offence to Tammy, but I don't think he's starting over Werner if we use Werner as our main striker. Front 3 of Sancho-Werner-Ziyech with Pulisic, CHO and Tammy as backup? That sounds great to me. And in all honesty, with whats happening round CHO, who knows if he'll even be a chelsea player for very long.... Which just leaves Tammy to rotate with Werner and Pulisic as a very good backup option on the wings.

Yeah 85m Chilwell is a never from me. Tagliafico for 20 odd or Telles for 30 odd is a much better deal
