Christian Pulisic - Official

Featured Replies

It did look like his dribble sucked some defenders in on him which might have otherwise been on Connor.

That said the shot was far more impressive than the assist.

I have to be honest though writing a tell all book being critical of your manager is a bad thing for your career.  Assuming he is telling the truth I can understand his frustration but every manager in the future is going to be weary to trust him knowing that he sh*t on his last manager.

Want to see him do well but he shot himself in the foot with that book.

Looked into it and it isn’t a tell all book. It’s a coffee table book with anecdotes and mostly photos. Not exactly the stuff of high drama. The Tuchel whine is apparently the most awful anecdote in the whole book.

At least did something useful, although had Connor hit the ball into row Z, nobody would remember the so called dribble and pass by Pullisic. I think he's been naughty off the field, not just whining about the manager ( book was written before the sacking), also totally ignored his dad's online crusade against Tuchel and that like after the leeds game. At least say the cliche of players must work hard and don't blame it on the manager, and remind his family those social media rants aren't helping his cause

Ran into a cul de sac and then passed a yard to a guy who then scored a screamer. You're generous to call it an assist Mod!

And still more than mount did for 84 minutes. As inconsistent and annoying as Pulisic is he deserves to be starting over Mount at this point

If Mount is dropped Gallagher, Ruben and Ziyech should be in before Pulisic is even glanced at.

I'd rather bring back Barkley and play him before giving Ziyech another game, genuinely pulled out the worst performance I've ever seen in a Chelsea shirt and then somehow managed to top it the next game.

What are you basing this on? The assist? And if Conor doesn't score that worldie but Havertz except scores from that reverse pass by Mount inside the box, or if Auba scores from Mount's pass after the corner routine has Mount done more then?

It was a nice positive little cameo from Pulisic but let's not pretend he did something special just because Conor scored that wonder goal. And concerning Mount, I don't think he played particularly well, but he wasn't bad either and he had some good actions that could have resulted in more.

Difference is he has something resembling form somewhat recently (January/February). But yes I'd rather not see either.

It's ridiculous isn't it? The expensive signings like Lukaku, Kepa and Pulisic get/got "told you so" posts when they do the basics of football yet the academy/cheap signings are the ones being held to the standards of the record signings.

I thinkbthe standards are based on who is playing the most minutes less than based on the transfer fees.

And Havertz has the highest transfer fee of anyone left on the squad.  He hasn't exactly been lighting it up either.

I thought both were pretty rubbish actually.  Praising up an assist is an indication of how crap we are but when the player runs himself into a dead end and chops it to the nearest bloke who then has to get it out of his feet first before it is clutching at straws in the extreme.

Making cases for players to start on the basis that they haven't been as sh*t as other players hardly illustrates our top 4 laughable objectives.

Still seen nothing to improve on a 6th - 8th finish. We play like a mid to lower mid table side currently.

Despite the money spent I think GP will still need to conduct a pretty large rebuild

absolutely not true... That wasnt assist rather a hopeful pass.. Apart from that the only other time he had a ball he ran to the penalty area and held on to the ball too long when sterling was free only to pass it backwards..

Mount created atleast 2/3 clear cut chances for Sterling and Havertz.. apart from an intelligent run that resulted in him almost scoring.

I am not in the camp that thinks Pulisic is not enough for chelsea but the truth is he has not been good enough when given chances.. Yes if Mount is dropped it will be for CG or Broja at this moment.

Potter transformed a pretty useless Brighton team into an attractive attacking outfit while losing players to transfers and on a fraction of our budget

surely he can change our style of play with our team ?

I loved watching Brighton yesterday at Anfield  it's the style,  movement , passing angles that were impressive.

Having watched the highlights, really, did he dribble anyone? The closest defender he had was about 2 meters away and no really any pressure on him. It’s a bit like saying that Silva’s assist was a masterclass of a header.

I agree but the question is will he be given the time to implement his philosophy. If I recall Brighton fans booed last season when they went 7 games without a win but the owners stuck by him and his team evolved this season, same with Arsenal fans singing Arteta out and now they hail him as the next Arsene Wenger because they are playing good football ( As much as it pains me to type that)..

Seeing as this is the Pulisic thread i like to add that if we stick to a 433 then Pulisic will be an important piece of the puzzle as he is our only true winger along with Sterling.

I think Potter will try with Pulisic and is already making these noises, but we all expect that Pulisic will continue to fail if he can actually last half a dozen games without being injured. By the end of the season i could then see Pulisic being moved on to allow for Trossard to come in.

Do we really want a player that mouths off a coach in a book (what an effing presumptuous person can write a book having achieved sweet fa?). If Saturday’s “dribble” is the best we can expect as all the hype seems to tell us, then he can f o to whatever team in the USA wants him, him and all the troupe of his. You’re welcome.

That's how desperate we are.

I reckon if anyone can hit a corner further than the near post we will hail him as a corner kick legend

This has genuinely had me laughing my head off.

So after weeks/months of hearing the issue with Pulisic here was Tuchel apparently not coaching him properly his successor (appears) to have come to the exact same conclusion and now he's apparently being sidelined so he's rusty for the USA vs England World Cup match 🤣

It's seriously bizarre.  He's been a bench warmer primarily his entire career at 2 different clubs, 2 different leagues, 5 managers, 8 seasons.

And some Americans genuinely think it's because he's had 5 coaches in a row with anti American bias it's actually hilarious.

It’s a small number of American fans who think that. Most think he stinks. Casual fans think he walks on water.

Give him playing time in his best position. Left wing, up top, out wide. This is what you will end up getting. Like what Potter is doing with the offense - actually playing the players where they are best. That asswipe Tuchel didn't do that. Love Mount in more of an attacking mid role. Dude is a good passer, and a good defender. I think Pulisic is much better than Mount at taking guys one on one. The higher you can push CP upfield, the better. And you could tell how rusty CP was today - but he was constantly getting into dangerous spots. Hopefully the beautiful goal will earn him more PT.
