Probably depends on what you expecting from this season. Nkunku should improve our strike force, assuming that he is able to stay fit and healthy. But I don't think that alone will elevate us to contention for top 6 unless we are still within reasonable chasing distance of that pack. At the moment it looks like we will be more likely to be playing for upper midtable by then. That being said, perhaps we can challenge for one of the domestic cups with Nkunku. Right now Blackburn looks ominous given our home form, but if we make it to QF and get more players back....

Teams know we will come out to play so will try to contain us and hit us on the break, we used to do it before RA or against City with Hazard.

Will be interesting to see what teams like Spurs, City, and Newcastle do in the next few games. I suspect they will attack us (especially Spurs and Newcastle being at home) so it will be a different type of game. A lot will probably depend on how we do on the defensive side of things but we will also get a chance or 2 to go begging on the break 😉

Boehly is an unmitigated disaster that has crippled the club loading the team with so many untalented young players rather than trying to build a competitive team.

It's unfortunate that we were the unlucky sods that got stuck with him imagine if he bought Tottenham or Liverpool we'd have been so lucky, one less rival and we'd have picked up Kane, Son, Allison, Salah or Van Dijk for peanuts because they're over 23 years old.  Maybe even hired Klopp after Todd sacked him after a few weeks and replaced him with Gerrard or Gary O'Neil for the project. 

Probably would have got £80m off them for Chalobah too. 

Boehly being so bad is why people miss Roman,  I miss him more now than when he was forced to sell. We had it good even better than we thought. 

Who were the players that was available, that they could have bought, that they didn't buy? Who are the bad players they bought?

I do find I appricate Roman even more now that he is gone and we have the new ownership.

Pedro Gonçalves and Moussa Diaby were established 'young' wingers who would've provided immediate impact vs Mudryk and Madueke.

Diaby be a upgrade all our wingers, and he'd fit in the established young players brackets perfectly. I suspect Boehly only signed those who want commit more than 5 years of contract and not demanding huge pay cheque, which is why we had no chance to attract the real top talents.

The aim, imo, with Clearlake being the major background and several smaller ones involved, was to make money off the club, and dealing with players this way may be seen as a way of doing so.

Which is not going to happen, because they are worth significantly less now than when we bought them, and at current trajectory would be unlikely to recoup their fees let alone turn a profit. 

Buying Angelo for 15m and selling him for 20m 5 years later isn't a profit when you consider his wages.

Yeah, this is the crazy part of Clearlake's strategy. I have no issue with us prioritising young players with the potential to become first-team quality in the transfer market in order to maximise resale value, however it makes little sense when you are paying the same amount (or more) as you would for players who are already first-team quality.

It rankles even more as it seems to involve selling all of our own (better) youngsters in order to be able to afford it.

When you're spending a billion pounds everyone is avaliable.

What you don't expect is to bring in really poor players like Madueke, Mudryk and Jackson, Disasi and the majority of young players we've loaned out or sick notes like Fofana or Lavia or to spend £300m on 5 different midfielders under 23 while having Jackson and bloody Broja up front.

On paper our squad must be the worst in the sports history for price to quality signed.

you really look at the names signed and the amount spent and you just weep.

Liverpool away Demba Ba goal and Barca away semi final Torres goal

Someone on Saturday after our game said teams reserved the low block exclusively for Chelsea, I don't believe that at all, but if it was a thing doesn't that mean that it doesn't work for them against attacking teams generally, so they don't use it , but Chelsea alone are famous for being bamboozled by it ?

Agree yet would not say we are famous for being caught out by it, too early though at times we have been before Poch.

I would have wanted to leave as well with these morons in charge. My mistake about Livramento. Thought he left under Boehly.
