Getting top four is never a guarantee. It is a bit arrogant to think because we Chelsea we automatically deserve top four. Given the strength of the league these days, getting top four is even tougher. Wenger used to say getting top four in the PL is like winning a trophy because it's tough to do. Now there's even more competition for top four. 

Of course not getting top 4 is a blow, there is a significant loss of money. No doubt it was a blow to Liverpool and Spurs this season to.

I think we'll be lucky to finish in the top 12 playing a bunch of kids nobody heard about 12 months ago and being overly reliant on a few world class players who are injured most of the time. It's not how top clubs are run, it's not even how Brighton are run.

The atmosphere at The Bridge has been going downhill for a very long while. I go on a when it suits me basis-mates with season tickets who’ve been going for decades..someone drops out, or they don’t want to go to all the games etc and I’m in.

We have a beer before and after the game, but during the 90 minutes they’re no craic-sh*t atmosphere-? no banter- no ironic songs- the only thing to focus on is the game. 

So the only selling product is the football itself.? Unlike Leeds, Forest, Palace etc who have fan culture going for them. 

When results go wrong, as of now,, they’re no black humour/ fan culture to fall back on. Without the success our fan base has become accustomed, The here and now is pure misery.

 

 

Bit of evidence of the old humour on Chelsea fan TV after the Brighton win when our fans hijacked the Lewis interview with chants of " we've scored at a goal, we've scored a goal etc etc " 

But I agree with you, I don't know any of my old school mates going mental even when we are really sh*te, don't like it, but a shrug, a few beers, a laugh , a bit of pisstaking , and onwards !

I really hope they make it a priority to agree new deals with Conor and Maatsen.

They have enough people working for them,  surely they can find the time and not mess them about.

The reason I am posting it here is because unfortunately a lot of the same financial tactics covered in this video are being used by Boehly/Clearlake, and WeWork's fate should serve as a dire warning. The goal of blitzscaling strategy is to increase market share rapidly by rejecting profit and outpacing regulation (rules). It is a strategy that is uniquely effective in the tech sector because technology often outpaces regulation, but in football, like real estate, strict regulation already exists.

Hall, Mount and Havertz all have their prime ahead of them, hardly smart sale after only couple of months into the season. Kovacic is a proven player at the top level, 25M is peanuts.

I could ask you the same question..would you want them back? I certainly wouldn't, we have much better players already.

You will think after the Arsenal game, people will come to this thread and appreciate what Boehly and co are doing. The team is doing well.

In the past when Abramovich built the team, we appreciated. Our new owners have spent a lot of money on the team, getting two top players that even Liverpool wanted.

Nobody will appreciate them, instead people will prefer to keep celebrating Abramovich, no one will celebrate Boehly. This is why i said the world is getting worse everyday. You imagine how much people liked Abramovich anytime he is at Stamford Bridge on matchdays in the past, but today, if Boehly and co came to Stamford Bridge, the fans don't even appreciate them with everything they've done.

I want to believe you're trolling but it's amazing the lengths people will go to praise the worst owners in premier league history.

Boehly is an unmitigated disaster that has crippled the club loading the team with so many untalented young players rather than trying to build a competitive team.

It's unfortunate that we were the unlucky sods that got stuck with him imagine if he bought Tottenham or Liverpool we'd have been so lucky, one less rival and we'd have picked up Kane, Son, Allison, Salah or Van Dijk for peanuts because they're over 23 years old.  Maybe even hired Klopp after Todd sacked him after a few weeks and replaced him with Gerrard or Gary O'Neil for the project. 

Probably would have got £80m off them for Chalobah too. 

Boehly being so bad is why people miss Roman,  I miss him more now than when he was forced to sell. We had it good even better than we thought.

Just spoke to my mate who was at the game 

ground staff were picking season tickets up after the game that were thrown away. he always stays until all the crowd has gone as he takes he boy and asked one of them what they were picking up
