Mason Mount

Oh for sure, I’ve held my tongue for a long time personally and always despised those clear agendas against him. Now it’s swinging the other way, as Mount represents proper Chels in the same vein as Reece and wanting him to succeed against the reality we’re faced with now after prolonged mediocrity is a hard pill to swallow.

Assuming we revamp the midfield further.. there is no place for Mount to ‘just’ be a squad player on a 250/275pw deal, big decision ahead for the board.

That's a good point that I should've considered.

We'll see by the end of the season, but Mount doesn't walk into any top 6 team as a default starter with those kind of wages, so I don't think he has that much bargaining power.

This leaves Mount as an option on the bench given his form this past year. For common ground to be met, Mount and his team need to accept the reality they are in.

One thing i'm 100% certain about is that Mount will never accept a rotational/bench role while being paid accordingly.

And why should he really. It's not that long ago that he ran rings around Europe under Tuchel so he's clearly a quality player. With that said though he's probably very close to losing his spot in our best XI when Mudryk, Felix and the others are up to speed with the way he's playing so what do you do then when he's got 17 months left on his contract?

What the club offers him will likely not be close to what he'll demand and his contract is fast running out. It would not at all surprise me if he left in the summer. Which I think would be a massive shame.

I get why some fans are so attached to Mount academy player who every pundit and fan was touting as the player Chelsea would build the around the next club captain all the accolades were being thrown and him but as it turns out it’s James who is all of the above which is why his contract was sorted first that isn’t a coincidence. RM, City we’re sniffing around which shows his quality.

Mount will be a good squad player but not the player you build around James, Felix and Mudryk is what you build teams around.

Unless there is a dramatic uptake in form going on what the new regime uses, stats/data I would be surprised if he gets the money he thinks he deserves.

With everyone fit on current form he doesn’t start.

He has been linked to a summer move to Liverpool. Despite his form such a transfer would generate a lot of cash.

Not that I want it to happen but I could easily seem the club recouping 160mill plus if qe sold Havertz, Gallagher and Mount.

Havertz £35m, Gallagher £30m, Mount £60m

I don't think its ever really been said to build the team around him, he's never had that Hazard factor. For me he's more a Damien Duff where he's a very good player when there's other better players in the team to take the pressure off him. I imagine Mount will pick up some form once Mudryk/Felix get into the team full time.

Mount and Gallagher would fetch 100% on profit and cash on hand.

I know, i was just stating i don't think we'd get £160m for them three players.

Kai i don't mind leaving and not bothered either way with Gallagher. Mount has shown his capabilities so would be sad to see him go.

Talking about his data:

If he wants a bigger deal, he would need to show he's interested in being a part of the this new project or whatever it's called, rebuilding thing.

Disagree on Gallagher and Havertz. Havertz clearly has a lot of ability that needs the right environment to unlock, and so I would not want us to sell for less than 60mill. Gallagher I could see various PL sides after, and up to at least 40mill

I think if we were to sell

Gallagher £35m

Havertz £50m

Mount £45m

Not saying any of this is fair or warranted just think that is what the market will be.

Honestly think Real, United, PSG and Bayern would all be after Havertz, believing they have the keys to unlock him and have a Cantona escape player unlocking the tightest of games.

Gallagher and Mount? Well I think it depends on how much competition there is.

There isn't a single other club on the planet where the "fans" would want to sell a young player who was the player of the year the past 2 seasons.

The funny thing is that you don’t hear wanting to sell him among the match going fans, it’s all online talk.

Part of me wonders if we've seen the best of Mount.  I'm sure he can prove me wrong and with experience he will improve, but hes been a little stagnant for some time now after somewhat bursting onto the scene.

We'd be foolish to let him leave - he should be a massive part of Chelsea's future.  In current state though, he needs to do more to be a starter for me (and I believe he can do more).

Shame we couldn't loan him to Everton for the season.

Mount is a Volvo.

Fortunately it looks like we've got a couple of Ferrari's with Mudryk and Felix so Mount can, and hopefully will, be left in the garage for the remainder of the season.

Part of me could easily see us letting him go and Liverpool pairing him and Bellingham together and Mount being to them what Lampard was for us, in status. Could easily see that happen.

Why can't we sort out an amicable deal, keep him and manage his pitch time reasonably so that we get the best out of him in the role that best suits.

If we continue to gauge on the basis of value for money against wages, then comparisons to Sterling must surely then come into play. Does his overall game for the money offer more or less than what Sterling offers.

I don't see how we recoup nearly all of Havertz original transfer fee 3 years into his current deal and where he seems like he's regressed since his time in Germany.

Its laughable, i agree he needs a couple of games on the bench but should never be looking at selling. Just look at Rashford at Utd, been bang average for a year or two and now he's tearing the league up again. Won't be long until Mount's redemption arc.

I think getting rid of Werner affected him - hope he stays gets to play with Mudryk and Felix

There's no doubt he needs time out of the team, and he's deserving of sensible critiquing as much as any player. It's the lunatics claiming we should sell him, loan him out that need to get a grip.

He's a young player who had a massive impact, he's played for 3 years without rest, he's now in a period where his performances have dropped off and needs taken out of the side. We sell him and I guarantee it would come back to bite us on the arse big time.

Not sure i've seen many who wants to sell him.

There is a big difference between wanting that and realizing he may actually be sold if he doesn't sign that contract extension within 4 months.

I think 99% hopes he extends his contract with us but it's reasonable to fear that he won't the longer it goes without him extending. Especially when he's lost all form and is about to lose his spot in the team. It certainly won't encourage the club to up the offer which we presumably have to do for Mount to resign.

Mate go on any Chelsea post on twitter and instagram and every post involving Mount has hundreds of African's and American's under it saying to sell Mount, its beyond embarrassing to our club.
