Very concerned with Mount. Looks a shadow of the player we saw in his 1st 3 seasons. 7 completed passes in 70 odd minutes today.

Is he good enough to build around? I always believed he was, but this season has been atrocious from him so far.

No, even at his best he's more a supplement player.

James is the only player in this squad that falls into that category right now.

Did we make a mistake loaning out CHO?

Given the alternatives absolutely but that didn't need hindsight.

We could certainly do with a player regularly up high on creative metrics right now.

Why do you want to build around Mount?

Mount skill-set is excellent for complementary player not as the biggest gun

I don't think we should be doing that anyway. Doesn't have the flair or creativity to be the main output on a team.

However, if we have another player to build around in attack Mount's performances would improve ten-fold. He's probably one of the best 'squad' players we could have.

Big question is would you stick him on £200k/w? He still hasn’t signed a contract, & a decision will need to be made in the summer. He is using the Rudiger playbook to run down his contract.

He's already rejected £200k/w.

The way things are going I think it's more and more likely that Mount ends up leaving. I assume that would test the faith of this "project" for a lot of people.

Not just this season for me, but the whole of 2022. Last season we wasn't very good either he just had G/A VS weaker teams to cover it.

This season he isn't getting the G/A to cover it the average/poor performances.

Well if he's this average for the remainder of his contract then I don't think a lot of people will really care.

Mount does believe his own hype I think. Last night he had the chance to come back in and prove a point, but he didn't. Last season was his best season, yet this season his form seems to have dropped and i'm seeing nothing. He needs to pick up form and prove he deserves a wage increase. You need to be consistent, not turn it on when things are going well.

I wouldn’t hold that against them, they are probably more pissed off than we are!

I am sure, but it's still annoying and I don't go to games. If fans are paying money to attend games at least go clap them. Hardly difficult is it? They are paid a fortune to play football week in, week out. The supporters are largely working very hard to pay for tickets and aren't paid handsomely. When you have Mount acting like he's Messi and demanding ridiculous wages for inconsistency, it does my head in.

I am not worried about Mase.

I accept that he has been trash this season, but the entire team have also been trash. I genuinely believe that if you put Haaland in this team, he will also be trash.

I think what we have with Mase is a solid, 7 out of 10 grafter, who will fight for the cause, score goals, and assist. He won't be the leading superstar who gives the star dust....and that's fine.

He is a player that will be much more effective, and consistent with a better cast around him. He isn't the player (that we hoped) who will grab the rest of the team by the scruff of the neck and force the issue.

Also, this pisses me off.

I wouldn’t hold this against them, you just got spanked and embarrassed professionally sometimes all you want to do is hide and don’t come out.
The last thing we want is fans starting target individuals this is a club problem from the top down.

He probably would have been injured by now, playing for us.

he had a bad track record at Chelsea. Seeing how everyone else crumbles from 1 injury to another.

Looks like he is safer of in the Bundesliga this season.

I really hope we cap his contract offer at 200k and if I'm honest I think even that is generous.

Reece is on 250k and he's nowhere near as close to his importance, and before people say "but Sterling" two wrongs don't make a right.

I am one of the biggest Mount supporter. If he think he can get more elsewhere he is welcome to leave. This is a normal situation.

I don't know the situation outside PL but in PL only pool or maybe spurs will be willing to pay mount starter money.

If he gets more than 200 for Liverpool he's on VVD money. He's not getting more than 200 elsewhere, his stock has fallen and so he either elevates his game, or he accepts the 200.
