They were also begging for Mourinho but quickly stopped supporting him when he was not cutting it (and him 'not cutting it' there wasn't even by half as bad as the final months here where he still got unconditional support by the match going fans).

Re Shaw just with a quick keyword search found this.

You guys are going wayy overboard with analysing how a 24 year old man in 2023 is behaving in his free time or what kind of person he is. JT for example is from another era. Mase is from this new era. I am glad MM is like he is and not how JT is.

I have always loved Mason's character and persona. This type of person is creating a good atmosphere around him and is not too serious. JT for my liking has always struck as a bit serious as a man. He is running after a ball in a game where grown men try to settle a score. Serious is not a word that fits into that. You can do things 110% and with heart but being too serious around a game is not my cup of tea.

Anyway I am not happy he chose to leave but only thing we can do is thank him and wish him good luck!

Excellent post, agree 100%

Disappointed to be losing Mount to one of our rivals but at the end of the day, it's a decent fee (compared to what Spurs got Maddison for) and players come and go and we'll get over it.

Let's face it, he had become a squad player rather than a guaranteed starter and although he always gave 100%, throughout his career, his form has been patchy. It's not like we're losing a Hazard or a Lampard or a Drogba etc.

Wish him all the best but hope he finds out the grass ain't greener up in Manc Land.

truly laughable. Guess 2x POTY and a CL assist is only worth the £80k a week he was on. Reece James on his £250k a week better be bringing world peace.

Didn't he get offered £200k which he felt was beneath him?

And so what he won that title, was he a sole driving force in the win or did he play a part as much as Havertz, possibly less as though he laid the pass, he didn't put the ball in the net.

Also Jorginho that has been so vilified and mocked at every turn and pass, is Mount worth more than Jorgi and Havertz? I don't see the same moaning and gnashing of teeth that they are gone.

Let me give him the benefit of doubt and say he has been our best player for all of his time in our first team and he is now at this point, final year of contract and as a result of his performance was attracting attention from Real or Barca. Do you think he would stay? Well moving to United gives you the answer.

Also for perspective, if that was his status, and either of those clubs came to offer £55m for a year left on a player (product) we basically have invested in and developed ourselves  without buying him for millions from elsewhere, would that not be a good deal for all?

Let's take off the scales, Mon£¥ Ma$€ doesn't have the same love for Chelsea as he wants to portray in public for benefit of the fans.

There's been plenty of players at this club who's had it far harder than Mount and stuck with the club.

Again, his decision to leave and fair enough but why defend a Manchester United player? He wasn't a proper Chelsea lad afterall, that's basically the bottom line.

Eloquently rationalised. Thank you sir.

Szoboszlai going to Liverpool now. That was my number 1 replacement for Mount.

It's going to be Gabri Veiga though now, which I find absolutely crazy. Not heard anything concrete about anyone else.

Might be Hakim Ziyech since his move fell through...

Yh just read it collapsed, some articles saying it's medical related others saying it's due to personal terms so who knows...

Think we want someone that can play as a CAM and on the wing. Which makes sense if the plan is still to sell Gallagher + CHO and to loan Carney.

He will start

Eriksen might eventually be dropped because of age but I highly doubt Mount is walking into the starting 11 he’ll probably start off on rotation and if he plays well then he’ll start

Offered between £200-220k which he agreed to then Winstanley and Stewart were hired and it was taken off the table with less money and a 1 year deal offered. He didn't turn down £200k because he felt it was beneath him, no. All been widely reported but conveniently ignored.

Mount was crucial in every stage of the CL run, just to jog your memory.

I've gave my 2 pence on Jorginho and Havertz. Jorginho left by the exact same means as Mount and got a fraction of the bile being spouted about Mount the last few weeks. Posted screenshots from both their Instagram comments a page or so back. Havertz has gone and we're glad to see the back of him and as said in a previous message no ill feelings towards him. Mount's gone and its a pile on calling him a snake and pretending like he wasn't our best player for 2 years running. Anyone genuinely going out their way to abuse a player to them is a weird little creep that didn't get enough attention from mummy and daddy growing up.

Seriously, have you read any of my posts? 1) i've not pretended he's been the best player his entire time, he was for 2 seasons though. The last season was sh*te. 2) I've said we've got a good fee for him. 3) I've said its not a massive issue he's gone, we've got Nkunku and we'll carry on winning without him. My issue is with the adherent views that Mount is now the anti-christ who was sh*t for 4 years and f**ked off the first chance he got. Everyone jumped on the Fabrizio bandwagon to hate on Mount when the Utd news broke but everyone conveniently ignores Fabrizio stating Mount's wish was to stay but the relationship between him and the club broke down after they withdrew their offer and offered substantially less.

Lets say you're a trainee accountant, earning £20k a year. You get your head down and work hard for 3 years making millions for your company. You have discussions with your boss and they agree to bump your salary up to £50k a year for your hard work. Just before agreeing the finer details a new boss comes in and says "no, you can have £32k a year and we'll review your performance in a years time". Last 3 years of hard work for nothing. Another company sees your hard work and offers you £55k a year. What are you doing, spending a year trying to prove yourself to the new boss or feeling like you've been done dirty in the last 3 years of hard work?

'Mon£¥ Ma$€' might be the most childish thing i've ever seen. You sound like an Arsenal fan saying Cashley Cole. Be embarrassed, act like a grown up i beg.

@Mod and his bookie have anxiously set up camp in the Pulisic thread. Ask again when the transfer window has closed.

My ITK sources have told me @Modbookie has been in contact with his Italian countparts to set up entrapping, I mean exclusive, Pulisic bet deals.

Yeah that's why I thought Szoboszlai wouldlve been perfect tbh. Maybe they see Veiga being able to play deeper too?

I also think if you bring in someone like Szoboszlai, who has already played in 3 different countries, and has experienced international and European football, there is more of a chance he will have an immediate impact, compared with Veiga who has barely left the town he grew up in, it could take him a year or 2 to even adapt.

Twitter is mostly a cesspit. Every single player gets abuse there from someone and it doesn't matter if you are Messi or Mount.

It's his decision to go and fair enough. But this "don't blame him for leaving because he got abuse on Twitter" excuse doesn't hold water for me. Just about everyone in football gets it there.

There's been plenty of players at this club who's had it far harder than Mount and stuck with the club.

Again, his decision to leave and fair enough but why defend a Manchester United player? He wasn't a proper Chelsea lad afterall, that's basically the bottom line.

He's from Portsmouth, supported them as a boy.

Have you ever heard him claim to be proper Chels?

There's a reason why I call them Bipolar fc. They go from thinking every player is world class to sh*t in a matter of days.
