Wasted opportunity to give game time to these lads against Forrest reserves.

Job done though.

My favourite kit, always liked the yellow trim. Remember painting a subbuteo  team this colour with airfix paints.

Those were the days, creating new subbuteo kits with airfix paints, all this FIFA, and  pro evo bollox these days

Opening myself up for a backlash here but when people talk of us signing a striker it's always to backup Tammy, or play with him.  Why not sign someone better than Tammy if possible? Because there is plenty out there

The problem is that because he scored the winner against Arsenal, some fans suddenly thinks he is good enough to lead our line now. First, if it were not for the ban, we would definitely have bought a striker last summer, Abraham would only have been a back-up to that striker because he is still too young and inexperienced to lead our line.

When we played Everton, Southampton, Bournemouth, West Ham etc., and we lost, we all saw his weaknesses, and we all agreed that we need a new striker in January so that we don't loose three matches and win just one, that is not Chelsea's standard, so, let's not because of a goal against Arsenal think that we cannot buy a striker that is better than Tammy for now. Tammy can still be a back up to a proper striker for now, after three or four years, I believe he would have matured, and be ready to lead the line for us.

Actually you can go far enough back in Tammy's thread you'll find out that some of us were clearly saying that after scoring so much for Villa he will be ready to lead our attack this season.

He has so far 12 goals and 3 assists, meaning he's directly involved in 41% of all goals the team scored in the league so far. He is safe to say, among the top 5 strikers in the league.

When was the last time we had a top 5 striker in the league, and how much time has passed since then?

Emerson just doesn’t offer enough going forward. Zero penetration always passes sideways or back. CHO and James both excellent in attack but both gave the ball away and we might have been punished by better teams. I thought Barkley played pretty well, very neat and tidy.

Tomori has work to do if he wants to start regularly. He, Jorginho and Kovacic give away too many fouls.

Lucky to have had VAR, could have been 2-2 otherwise. The first wasn't even a pen and the second never was a free kick but without the two offsides calls from VAR would have been a whole different game.

But those kits though :bananapowerslide:

I won't call a team that is 4th in the championship a small team...

Honestly I hope we lose and focus on top 4..  our  starting 11 is stretched mainly because lampard didn't rotate during the Christmas period.. Hopefully he learns from Kane's hamstring issue bcoz that could easily be Tammy , especially with our high pressing from attackers

You are right mate I was thinking more along the lines of a team like West Ham, anyway they are all small compared to us.

I read that twice. Nope, definitely don't agree with a word of it. I haven't seen a more exciting young striker than Abraham this season. He has everything to be world class and has not really put a foot wrong so far IMO.

Abraham shows his ability with his hold up play as much as his finishing. He is consistently doing a solid job on hold up play and distribution. Strong, effective and efficient.

I don't agree that he hasn't put a foot wrong, there's been a few games his finishing has really let him/us down, Everton away especially.

However I agree with the general point, I knew he would score goals at a respectable rate but I wasn't expecting the quality of general play he's brought to the table.

Just saw the highlights on MOTD. CHO seemed to be impressive and involved in all our best moves. Only highlights I know but hopefully this will boost his confidence and he can bring something similar to the EPL matches.

He was doing really well but slowed down once he had that knock near the end of the first half, I think it's obvious that his injury has effected a lot of his game this season.

Probably our man of the match although he did fade after getting a knock and it wasn't a particularly tough man of the match to get. Nobody really shone against a very poor Forest reserve team. CHO and probably James were the best of an average bunch. Batshuayi was dreadful. Kovacic, Pedro and Jorginho offered very little.

EPL top scorers from open play and assists 2019/2020

Vardy 14 outfield goals - 3 assists

Ings 13 - 1

Abraham 12 - 3

Aubameyang 12 - 1

Mane 11 - 6

Sterling 11 - 1

Pukki 9 - 3

Kane 9 - 2

Rashford 8 - 4

Salah 8 - 4

Aguero 8 - 2

Jimenez 6 - 6

Yes but those charts aren't always the be all and end all.

I mean Ings has scored more than Aguero, but hes not fit to lace his boots.

I just dont think Abraham is anywhere near top level yet

At this very minute based on amount of goals scored, yes, as is Ings

Overall ability?  Not a chance.

We still need an elite level striker whether it now or summer, likely the latter

Ok fine I also think that we need a striker, but can you go ahead and name 5 strikers from the PL with a better overall ability than our Tammy?

Kane and Jesus are below average this season they surely aren't better than Tammy overall! Though the rest make 5 so I admit, you win . . . . .

Often happens in games like this, it got so easy it was almost like the players were deliberately dropping a gear to try and incite something of a stimulating battle out of it.
