Welcome Hakim Ziyech

Good cameo from Ziyech today, used the ball well and looked interested in the game.

Yes he did. I would hate to see him forced out in January.

Considering how many games we have & how many competitions. We need all of our players fit & rotating!

Started to get his sh1t together, the trademark cut in cross is back, passing is getting better, and even took on defenders and winning some duels. I was concerned when he started this game, turned out Tuchel knew what he was doing all along.

He's a 2nd half sub. Not starting 11 material.

He wastes so many shots right now but his best today was the one on McTominay. I laughed so hard on that one

Impressed off the bench at Leicester, and starter vs Juve. Big step backwards today so back to bench he should go. You cannot drop points against poor sides in this league and expect to compete. If our aim is 4th place then this results is fine. If it is higher it is not.

Think Ziyech is a player where cameo's will be what he is remembered for. As others have touched on, he is not the sort of player you want to see starting big matches. He just doesn't have the consistency. He has touches of brilliance but is often wasteful. Good squad option but no more than that.

His first goal in the league this season, about bloody time he started looking like a player. Hope he can kick on from here. But his passing sometimes 🤦🏻

I hope not. He has his moments, but that is the problem, they are just moments. It's all of the inbetween stuff that he needs to sort out. Ziyech is too much of an impact player, they are handy to have around, but not somebody you want starting the big games.

Better as a super sub I think.

Likely we go with the same front 3 today on Saturday. Rom won't be ready to start imo.

His inconsistency is a problem, but with Pulisic being probably the worst of the lot last night, I don't see anyone who can start over him right now.

Besides that, he does deliver in big games. Just remember Atletico at home, Man City (twice), and Villarreal in the Super Cup.

Why do you think Pulisic deserves to start? I'm hoping for Mount - Ziyech - Lukaku (Werner). If we go with the same front 3 it will be hard to break them down...

CP is clearly rusty, been out most of the season, will need games to get that sharpness back. On song he is a goal threat with both feet and his head.

You cannot serious prefer Werner to Havertz do you? I get why you push for Ziyech, he can press well and his left foot is capable of the sublime as well as the ridiculous. But Werner?

A dedicated supporter of Ziyech's previous club that cannot be named informed me he has a similar inconsistent history at the club that still cannot be named. She assured me he improved significantly through the years. It's the "years" part that made me whimper.

Pulisic is completely out of form. In my opinion he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11 against West Ham.

As for Havertz, yesterday he's had another game where he was invisible and I think it's time to bench him. With Werner we get the much needed pace to attack Zouma and Dawson. He's more suited to this type of games.

Pulisic never got to double figures in a league that duped the world into thinking Werner was one of the most ruthless finishers around.

The excuses for Pulisic are getting to the levels of the one's of made for Torres. He ran down three blind alleys last night before the medical emergency alone.

I'd play all our other attackers (which includes Barkley, Werner and even my personal favourite Lukaku) ahead of him right now. He's an impact sub at absolute best.

Funny you mention that super cup game as we were tearing Villareal a new one with the Ziyech, Kai and Werner front three then the former had to go off and Pulisic pulled a 0 out of 10 which flattened us and lifted them.

Oh Argo think we can call CP your favorite now mate as he clearly has usurped Lukaku. 😉

Hmm interesting idea about pace against Zouma. Kurt's problem is he switches off, he us as strong as an ox and could easily match pace with any of our forwards.

Would say the best way to get at him is outsmarting him. Think you are harsh on Kai there too. He set Mount up unselfishly and would like had a goal had CP released the ball earlier.

  • 2 weeks later...

His decision making is pretty shocking isn't it?

For every good forward pass or cross he makes he squanders the ball 3 or 4 times so cheaply.

Very frustrating player to watch.
