Welcome Hakim Ziyech

To be fair I completely forgot, but then I watched motd, but didn't he have a good shot cleared off the line yesterday? He was our worst player yesterday, but he seemed a lot better than in previous games, and really would of had a goal yesterday had it not been for that great clearance.

Yeah I was waiting to see if anyone would bring this up, like it was a certain goal if not for good defending. Also if you watch the positions he finds himself in, were we to pull the ball back across the penalty spot rather than across the goal that's where he often waits as there tends to be a bit more space. I think him and Werner are still working on this communication.

I think it was @Slojo and I that were arguing before KO in the match thread that though there was no real alternative at the moment for Ziyech. Pulisic came in and was bad, the other alternative was Havertz who hasn’t set the league on fire. So while we play this system, it doesn’t really make much difference so far who we play there.

Why did he get banned?

Just seen Slojo has followed Gol15 out of the door....

No idea what has happened - and would welcome a word on why, doesnt need to be in depth, but just a simple reason (overly confrontational?, rude? abusive?).  From my own perspective, they both contributed to this forum, and whilst I didnt always agree, I dont think that either were trolls, and do believe that both were genuine in their perspectives/feelings/beliefs/expressions.

I would hate to think that they have been banned simply from giving a view that others didnt agree with.

I didn’t realise Slojo has followed the path of Gol15. I almost never agreed with him, but never thought he was disrespectful tbh. But I guess that the moderators will have their reasons.

Really wanted this transfer to work out. I thought he would be our playmaker something we have lacked since Cesc and Eden have left. I'm still holding out hope he can adjust either by the end of the season or start of the next. But, I wont lie I see a lot of the issues people bring up about him and they are concerning.

He doesn't seem to have the best 1st touch which doesn't help in such a press heavy league. His style is probably more suited to a different league. If he can work on his first touch and become a little stronger on the ball there is hope yet.

Also in regards to his attitude it might just be me but I think he's probably more annoyed at himself than anything else when people think he's being stroppy. No one wants to come to England and be regarded as a flop and I'm sure he can see where things are going.

As it stands he's the most expendable of the attacking players due to age. I wonder if he can show the top mentality that not only can he compete but thrive in the hardest league in the world.

Expected so much more from him especially after a couple of very good performances earlier on in the season but he has been very poor,

Doesn’t really suit us and seems to be struggling to adjust. Hoping he can show us all the talent he clearly has but at the moment he certainly isn’t a starter.

Garbage, and worse than that he has no fight in him at all. Pulls out of 50/50s and never pressures defenders.

We actually saw one of his deliveries to the back post today for the first time since (I think) Frank was in charge. Shame we didn't have anyone on the pitch who could get on the end of it...

At the moment, he doesnt deserve a prolonged run in the team based on form/merit. To keep Werner or CHO out of the starting 11 to shoehorn him in, is wrong.

The guy looks as if he doesnt give a flying F about playing for chelsea.

I agree 100% Longtime

I have long been an admirer of players in his mould, stretching back to Tony Currie, Hoddle, Brady even Fillery, players easy on the eye.

You can see that Ziyech has the ability, but I feel he needs to quicken up, he has’nt got the the time that he currently wants, especially with the current high press favoured by many teams.

I agree his first touch needs to improve but also his awareness, he seems too slow to pick the pass he wants and the time he was probably afforded in the Dutch league just isn’t there in the premiership.

Ive not given up but I’m worried he hasn’t got the desire or attitude to work on his deficiencies, I’d love to be proved wrong though.

For me the worse thing is his body language as if he didn’t give a sh*t. He can be bad, that happens, but he’s not bothered about it at all and he’s not improving his game. He doesn’t press, he loses all 50/50s, doesn’t try to recover any ball. He needs to be left out the team a little while so he can reflect on his work rate.

This level of "effort" clearly isn't acceptable. Busy wiping his nose when there is a great space for him to attack and score.

Without desire he wont make it

I saw that in the game and then they showed it on MOTD too. He can thank himself lucky there are no supporters in stadiums at the moment because fans would be on his back seeing that half arsed attitude.

Would bench him for that alone and if I was TT, I would be giving him a right bollocking. He's nowhere near as good as I thought he was going to be and needs to buck his f**king ideas up.

Fully agree. Our supporters will idolise players who may not be the best technically, but give their all for the badge. Players who are having a hard time, but still try their best and bust a gut will not get booed.

But this half arsed, lackadaisical, billy big bollocks attitude wont cut it with fans in the stadium, at least if he is not delivering anything creative to get fans off their seat.
