Jan Oblak

If we end up signing Havertz AND Oblak...It would be one of the best transfer windows in the Roman era IMO.
And even after that, a LB is a must signing so it will get even better potentially. Havertz is amazing and still very young, he's basically a mix of Zidane and Kaka, Werner and Ziyech are world class and so is Oblak so that's all world class players. And a good LB will come as well...

The one transfer window that I can think of that can top that is probably this one:

Immediate reaction to this was bullsh*t, however, Simeone didnt exactly shoot it down, he said he hopes Oblak stays. Athletico's assistant has apparently said we want to sign Oblak.

They spent an absolute fortune last summer, over £220m, and even took Barcelona to court to try get more money for Greizmann, they have a new stadium that is still being paid off, and still owe us the morata money.

This pandemic may have taken its toll aswell, players have taken pay cuts, and staff have been laid off there.

Oblak for Kepa plus the money they owe us, might actually be a thing that works for them.

The Pjanic - Arthur swap deal, was done in such a way that it great improved both teams balance sheet, so maybe Atletico will need to make a deal happen.

Im still not getting my hopes up, Oblak has turned us down before, but it would be a fantastic signing, and would also bring leadership to the defence.

Have to agree. Though I don't think any window is topping the one you just showed there... Absolutely unreal.

Only way that can get topped is if this team goes on to win more trophies than these lot did,

The thing I'd like about Oblak more so than his great goalkeeping ability, is his leadership.

Our defence would immediately improve just from the way he bosses the defence around and take charge.

How likely this is, I have no idea. But its not a random rumour, and we are definitely interested and that much has been confirmed. If they are desperate for cash, then some sort of deal where they get Morata without paying and Kepa, maybe even some cash thrown in as well - It'll be great for both sides! But we'll definitely have to sell a lot of more of our players to make up the money. Jorginho would almost definitely have to go, and so will quite a few others

Alaba is available for £35m aswell apparently, the leadership and quality both of those would bring, could push to a title challenge. Dont think we could tempt Alaba though.

Alaba seems like a Bayern Munich man through and through, there's less chance of him leaving Bayern than there is us getting Oblak

If the question was which 1 signing would give us the biggest impact in terms of our points tally I would say its Oblak, he would be such a big upgrade on Kepa that it's unreal.

Jorginho + Kepa for Oblak.

Make it happen Marina!

Bit like Multi Coloured Swap Shop. I have a framed photo of Tommy Langley and a game of Kerplunk I could throw in as a deal clincher.

Probably a wet dream, but at least we are dreaming high. He's the Messi for Atletico like Simmon said, so would be a massive scalp if we manage to pull it off. That Ajax GK is probably better than Kepa, but getting Oblak ( whatever the price is since FFP is dead if you have good lawyers on your team ) would be unreal and it sends a signal out we are back in business big time.

Lot of noise about him, I really don't want this transfer to go through if we are talking 80m+

There are some excellent keepers out there we could sign for sub 40m. I wonder how much we could pick Rajkovic up for who sounds like he's had an incredible season in France.

I mean it’s a big if, but IF Roman truly does want him personally as reported (I doubt that would be public knowledge but the athletico assistant mentioning it does give it some weight) then it’ll happen. When I think back to the players Roman personally wanted at Chelsea it was Shevchenko - we got him & Torres - we got him.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens. He would instantly be the best GK in the league.

We have a Jody Morris signed Panini sticker (circa 2002) which I'm happy to dig out.

Barter with Kante and they might take us seriously.
