March 4, 20206 yr Leicester away in the quarter-finals again then, same as 2 years ago in March 2018, hopefully a good omen as we won the FA Cup that season! I was at that quarter-final away at Leicester back 2 years ago, was a close match but we edged it in extra time, think Leicester with their recent slump in form generally are very beatable now too so cautiously optimistic we can do them again.
March 4, 20206 yr Bye bye Spurs. If Derby somehow get through tomorrow you can bet the winner draws City in the semi's lol,
March 4, 20206 yr That last spuds pen was pure tracking shocking chaps ,as bad as Pat nevins effort vs man city yonks back . but for whatever reason the Spurs player Deir or is it Dier has gone and run into the stands where all the spuds were leaving the ground ,somert must have touched his nerve to do the headless chicken

Apparently practically every time we draw Leicester we go on to win the FA Cup (1997, 2000, 2012, 2018), or so the Chelsea app claims.

We beat City that night but Nevins penalty is still talked about more than 35 years later, Google it youngsters, it's a joy to behold! Edited March 5, 20206 yr by chi blue
March 5, 20206 yr What a game !! They may have the league wrapped up but it makes wiping the smile off that grinning buffoon klopps face all the sweeter. And Barkley's goal !! I could not stop laughing
March 5, 20206 yr Dog turd draw. None of the big teams draw each other and we get a difficult away trip. It'll likely mean to win the Cup we'll have to beat 4 of the other top 6 teams in England.

Liverpool-Leciester-ManC-ManU...........notice how it gets easier as you go.?
March 5, 20206 yr Say anything you want about Liverpool but their leadership through VanDijk and Klopp is brilliant. I watched Klopp's post game presser and you can't get a more level headed assessment as he gave. Same goes to VanDijk who could have got Giroud sent off after the high boot challenge. Instead he wiped his face and got on with the game. Hope more footballers look his on pitch actions instead of Neymar or Ronaldo.

What I would say though is their aura of invincilibity has been broken, they will still win the league yet some teams will go for them and some will get a result.

I’m already blaming you

The high press was gone which made us more compact in defence (two solid banks of defenders bought a little tear to my eye) we also went long from goalkicks to avoid Klopps gengenpressing and our recent struggles playing from the back. This should have been the model for the Bayern game too. Hopefully we see Frank use it more often from here on ib. I think it’s horses for courses you wouldn’t expect long balls against lower table teams, I agree this should have been what we played like against Bayern, in that game we did nothing that looked like ourselves. We did try and play the long ball a bit but not cross field from diagonals like we did against Liverpool. I think frank is still trying to find out the best way to set up with what he has and with the ever growing injury list consistency is hard.
