It's hard to get excited about the prospect of signing a 25 year old who has played pretty much the entirety of his career playing second and third tier football.

To be fair there are plenty of examples of good players who developed slower than others but come good. Although i kind of agree with you on this one, Id rather buy Boga back than this guy.

Every time I see us linked with this guy, I always think 'Why are we trying to sign that useless guy Newcastle had a few years ago? Is he suddenly good?'

Had to do a bit of looking, but as it turns out I was thinking of Gaël Bigirimana. He is currently failing to get a game for Solihull Moors who are mid-table in the National League. Apparently Tim Flowers was their manager for a few years.

Just in case you wanted to know.

Especially for £30m. That's only £5m less than Ziyech who rinsed us last year in the Champions League and was quality at the highest level. Feels like another Micheal Hector to me.

We need a left back and this is half way to buying one.

Michael Hector comparison is ridiculously harsh. Benrahma is one of the best championship players, and if you watched him play, you can see he has serious ability. Whether that translates to the premier league is up for debate, but hector wasnt even one of the best at reading, he already had been on 5 or 6 average loans, and was never bought to play in the 1st team.

In the paper today that his teammates have wished him good luck at Chelsea on social media.

A lot of fuss over nothing with this I reckon. A comment came up on a live stream that translated to congratulations on Chelsea my brother. That could literally have been congratulations on the interest. Without context it means nothing.

He looks fantastic in his Youtube videos, but then again so did Marin. So will be interesting if he comes to Chelsea, how he takes to the Premier League.

It would be better to bring him and Watkins in together. A decision on Bats has to happen soon and Watkins and Benrahma already have some chemistry that could translate here.

If we do sign him, Willian is surely out the door? Hell, even CHO's place would be starting look very suspect.

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see CHO on a loan next year.

He's definitely behind Ziyech, Pulisic and Willian (if he stays) as it stands ... if another winger comes in then Callum has seriously got his work cut out to even get on the pitch ... Lamps has at least told him he needs to knuckle down and work hard in training, but there is a question mark over his ability to do that for me ....

Not only that, but we're looking to bring in Havertz who can play on the wing as well if he has to. And its just not possible to keep everyone happy

Wouldn't surprised me at all if a 12-24 month loan for CHO to Leverkeusen is part of the deal for Havertz.

That would definitely surprise me, but CHO I feel desperately needs a loan out somewhere with guaranteed game time.

When are loanees ever guaranteed game time?

Never guaranteed, but someone like CHO I feel like walks into any bottom half premier league team. At least based on his performances at the end of last season anyway

It’s easy to ooze class in championship though, for example Pablo Hernandez oozes class week in week out.

Yea but he has got something he is better than a significant amount of epl players

Hard to compare, because of the level of opposition

I hope we do sign him, especially if Willian and Pedro both are definitely leaving.

Winger options will then be: Pulisic, Ziyech, CHO, Benrahma and possibly Werner and Havertz as well as they can both play on the wings if need be, despite it not being their best position.

This is essentially what I thought of when we signed Willian

Great width, but Tammy and Giroud in the middle?, O for a Didier or Costa in their pomp!

Werner can play down the middle. Werner and Giroud is not too bad imo.

We're also looking to sign Jovic apparently, but not sure how accurate those rumours are.
