Seen a few people ask why he cant take a bigger pay cut to stay, or why he cant play for free even. It turns out spanish law states any new contract must be at least 50% of previous contract to stop financial doping. So he took as big a pay cut as he possibly could. 

Crazy on Barcelona's side to pay him that much money in the 1st place.

Especially as they are now bleating that is unfair if PSG get him because it breaches salary rules. That's a hoot. Its' not even that Messi is bringing them to their knees, its the accumulation of years of ridiculous overspend and rule breaking. 

Just looking forward to seeing him kiss the PSG badge next time he scores, cos its all about the glory after all.  Presumably PSG don't care that they are getting a player that doesn't want to be there but he can't play for the club he wants to play for because he has contributed to busting them.

Such a shame that he decide to move to psg, it will be great to see him in pl.

The Neymar deal is super shady with all the "extra" things the club (and owners) addlegedly do for him, Messi will be even more showered with gifts.

Income tax rate in France is 45% on earnings over €160k. So almost half his wages will be taxed, so he's being paid almost €70m a year. Over €1m per week. 

Plus a signing on fee rumoured to be a further €35m plus whatever bonuses etc they've agreed. 

1 year contract with Messi is likely to cost more than the entirety of the transfer fee we're going pay for Lukaku.

If there was ever a footballing example of corruption then look no further than Paris Saint Germain. If Chelsea were ran by terrorist funding, human rights abusing, sexist, racist and visibly corrupt owners like them, I’d be supporting Newport County.

So you don't see anything shady in Roman Abramovich? Nothing is wrong in our type of ownership? What about American owners of Liverpool and Manchester United. All okay. Manchester City clean as a whistle?

Mr. Abramovich has had his fair share of dodgy dealings I am sure; nothing quite like those that run PSG though. You can add Manchester City to that statement of mine as well in fairness; both clubs and fans should be f**king ashamed of themselves for being a part of it and allowing their morals to subside for the sake of success. Chelsea Football Club and Abramovich are nothing in comparison.

What I am trying to say here is you are drawing a line to somewhere grey. You don't know what Liverpool American owners have done. It is easy to target Russians, Arabs as people in general don't trust them. Bottom line: we don't know who is the Bill Cosby of owners.

Whatever way, it doesn’t quite account for state funded terrorism. Judging from time working with the Saudi’s, generically speaking, they’re not a very nice bunch of people to work with at the ground level, so can’t begin to imagine what kind of people they are at the top!

Neymar-Mbappe-Messi trio will be the most dangerous attack in Europe, after Werner-Lukaku-Havertz of course.

Messi will wear 30. That is weird. He will probably score 30 and assist 30 next season... Not that I feel sad we didn't go for him it would have been pretty special seeing him feature for us. He would have made us the main candidate for the title just like that. 

He is still so good it is unfair.

Massive financials for an ageing player, who has never played in the prem.

Perhaps more concerning than the financials, would have been the impact on the squad. I can see it turning into a 1 man circus, which seems against the ethos of much of our players and manager.

Of course, he could have been magic, but I have a feeling the laws of nature do still apply to him, and I suspect the pace of the game in the EPL would find him out. Simply put, he is of course a special player, but I believe equally, Barca and La Liga played a huge part in the Messi phenomenon, and I don't think he would have one half as many awards (or titles) had he played in the prem.

Teams like Marseille, Lyon, Lille, Monaco are big European teams and all all this talk just for PSG to not win the league last year haha! Past 5 years PSG have won it 3 times, Monaco once and Lille once. 

If you wanna look at corruption, I think City are easily the worst of all teams. In all honesty, I dont think any billionaire owned club is clean at all and are all somewhat dirty. 

 

I would have loved nothing more than to see Messi at Chelsea. We could have paid him a million a week, and the amount of money he would have bought in for us would make that look like chump change, not to mention him catapult us to a different stratosphere in terms of club status. Now its PSG who will arguably end up being another Real Madrid or Barca and not us, what a shame.

Messi playing for us would have bought us in so much money globally that its actually a joke. Do you know how many eyes will be on PSG now just because he plays there? Its catapulted them into a whole different level.

You have seen him destroy the cream of the PL haven't you, when he was 22-29, he'd of smashed the PL, you cant stop genius, and he has had the living sh*t kicked out of his legs in Spain, now he'd probably be equal to Kane in numbers, admittedly he played with special players, i used to just dream of him playing for us around 2007-12....
