Even with that said and TT coming in we could have fixed the gap to United simply by beating Wolves, Saints and Leeds like we really should have done.

Fair comment, but he wouldn't known who his best players were and he still doesn't IMO, hence giving virtually every player in the squad some minutes. He did stop the rot though.  Now he needs to find a way for us to score goals or the remainder of the season will be painful and nerve racking.

Ziyech may be about to return the faith given to him, 2 important goals in 2 games.

Add that to Havertz and Werner improving their all around play and Mount being Mount maybe now it will click.

Lets hope so

Kane is a cheating c**t, possibly the worst diver in the game at the moment. Yet he never gets called out for it by the commentary.

Maguire > Utd. £80m

Evans > Leicester £3.5

I think Leicester were the big winners there.

Unfortunately we can’t crow too much after giving them £35m for drinkwater...offsets getting Kante off them

I saw this stat posted on Twitter which was pretty shocking by OGS

“Solskjær on a run of 22 failed attempts to win a trophy at 3 different clubs in 3 different divisions since his last success, the 2013 Norwegian Cup.”

22 attempts. Roman would have got shot of him by now.

It’s interesting with United where they go with Ole. I don’t see any world class managers available and their obvious replacement in Poch is no longer available. It’s either Ole or go with someone like Nagglesman who is abit of a wildcard. I would think they will stick with Ole next season given he has pretty much secured top 4 and 2nd place.

Easy to underestimate the job he did at chelsea with hindsight and inter milan. He was a great manager...just cos he’s not what he was doesn’t mean all his achievements should be forgotten

He was brilliant at Porto, Chelsea (1st stint) and Inter Milan. Completely flawless.

Real Madrid and Chelsea (2nd stint) was very good. Didn't end well at both clubs, but had some very good periods over the duration of his tenure.

The big decline started in mid-2015 and hasn't stopped or been turned around.

2003-2010 = Prime Mourinho.

2011-2015 = Past his peak, but still an excellent manager.

Mid-2015-Present = Decline starting from his final season at Chelsea, and followed through to United and Spurs.

I agree with that. Still think 13-15 (not including how it imploded in last four months) is quite an underrated period of his at chelsea. Team played great football most of the time, won a lot of big games and last occasion (hopefully until now) we came close to winning the cl.

Looks as though Utd will have a good chance in the Europa, next up against Granada.

This is why I never wanted us to try to copy Liverpool last season... Klopp burns out his teams much faster than other managers even if he is a good manager.

I don’t know, Bielsa can burn a team out in two thirds of a season.

Maybe there is a reason why he's at leeds lol

So FFP is likely to be scrapped, strange decision that.

In unrelated news Barcelona and Real Madrid gave huge debts and squads that need rebuilding, I'm sure that's just a coincidence though....

Couldn't think of anywhere else to post this.

Liverpool and Manchester City women's and youth teams are set to use special mouthguards in training to assess the impact of heading the ball.

Already used in rugby, the mouthguards are able to collect data in real time and show how impacts affect the brain.

It will form part of a Premier League research project after concerns about the long-term dangers of heading.

In 2019, a study found professional footballers more likely to suffer from neurodegenerative brain disease.

The Premier League wants the research to be completed in months after accusations that football has been slow to act.

However, concussion substitutes and restrictions on heading in youth football have already been introduced this season.

On Tuesday, the Football Association's chief medical officer Charlotte Cowie said football was "moving towards" changes to heading in professional training.

She said that the governing body's research taskforce had recommended that youth team players "would only head the ball a maximum of 10 times in a training session, once a week".

She added that similar changes to the professional game were "contingent" on how effective youth heading guidelines are with coaches and the success of the Premier League research.

Cowie explains that the "integrated mouthguards" would help "understand types of header" where forces might be different depending on how far the ball had travelled before impact.

"We want some more detail on that before we rule on the professional game, but we fully intend to do that and also in the adults grassroots game," she added.

Brazilian league is getting a new rule, a manager can only be sacked once during a season and if a club changes the coach for the second time then only a member of the staff that has been in the club for 6 months can take over.

Not a patch on Harry Maguire conspiring to get relegated twice in the same season!

While we're on the subject of United I've just seen a video of Bruno Fernandes bragging about scoring a penalty in the 1-6 Spurs game.
