I hope he conjured up some serious funds for our summer transfer window.

P.S. My girl Marina is hot af, as usual.

Feels like tuchel and the board get on better than any manager we've had previously. I can't imagine seeing conte on a night out with marina!

Not sure if nice cause TT stops some shots or worrying that our players can't finish against a 48 year old

It's expected from any of our forwards not named Hakim.

I think we will kick on from here now.

Still think that now? Today pretty much summed our last few months before the kickoff. Manager out with Covid, a terrible slow performance, Lukaku and Werner worse than ever, Mount picking up an injury and possibly Azpilicueta too. Awful preparation for the club world cup.

It doesn't matter what formation he plays if the players themselves can't take it upon themselves to score and pass with speed and precision.

4231 and our front 4 were toothless. Azpi had to push himself uptop to score.

Saw the Rice goal against Kidderminster and I immediately thought "It would be great if any one of our player had that in them"

Nobody can coach that into someone.

I feel It’s a matter of ‘when’ he gets sacked not ‘if’ with the Lukaku situation. There will be lots of contexts and people at the time will do mental gymnastics on all the variables but all roads will lead back to that signing. This is the same club who hired Benitez thinking he could rekindle the magic from Torres. Kepa was a disaster but at least his wages were relatively reasonable, in Lukaku’s case you can’t earn £325,000 per week and not be the more important than the manager… at Chelsea.

This is depressing to read but alas it is true 😪

Some fans have been begging us to move away from the back 3 formation of late, and after what I have seen so far, I'm not in favour of it. There is huge push to try and get the best out of Lukaku, but at the same time, I feel like it's exposing other players to their old weaknesses again. Even against Plymouth Argyle, I noticed Christensen struggling again with having to deal with things without that same level of protection next to him, and Jorginho was often getting overrun and bullied in midfield. Kovacic is also not anywhere near as effective in this system, Kante when he plays in this formation also struggles. There's a reason why Tuchel immediately changed things and stuck with it when he came in, he knew those weaknesses had to be addressed if we were to turn things around. There are a lot of system players in our team, and I don't think it's wise to move away from a system to help one player when it's going to negatively affect a handful of others.

In some ways I agree but if Tuchel is going to insist on playing Rom no matter what it's the only way these games can be even somewhat enjoyable despite his presence.

Plus given we're out of the title race that makes games being good to watch all the more important. It was the style of play more than the results which caused me to go rogue in regards to Frank.

I have been one that doesn’t believe that moving to a back 4 has really revitalized our game at all. I still think 3 at back is the best way to go, we at times look to exposed at that back and we don’t have the personal currently especially in the fullbacks.

4231 doesn't really improve our playstyle,  we just get to add an extra attacker (that also barely contributes) in favour of 1 of Silva/AC.

Kai won't get immediate No. 10 spot because Mason plays there so we won't have any way of knowing how good Kai is in that setup while at the same time exposing Jorginho and Christensen. I don't know if Silva can cope with 4 defenders week in week out because at 38, he'll surely won't last with the amount of games we play from now till May

Certainly wouldn't rule it out despite our poor performance yesterday. We were rusty but that was to be expected when our entire squad had just been on vacation and we were without our manager.

No doubt there are some obvious problems though. Sarr didn't perform at leftback yesterday so who plays there going forward is a headache.

And obviously our attackers but at least Ziyech and Mount seem to have found a bit of form. So that's positive.

So far we didn't lose a game while playing any formation that has a back 4 and we didn't concede a goal from open play either.

Insane to think a coach of his quality can't coax any semblence of consistency to the plethora of attacking players we have that have shown much better form for previous clubs.

Almost all our attackers have played under two managers now though. They didn't perform under Lampard either at that was with a gung ho type of attacking football.

At this point I think it's fair to say we bought duds unfortunately. I certainly don't think any manager would make Werner, Havertz, Odoi, Pulisic etc look like top class footballers.

Unfortunately I am coming to that conclusion too. The likes of Werner, Havertz, and Pulisic were signed for hefty fees based on potential, and signs so far suggest they are not going to fulfill that potential. Likewise at this stage Hudson-Odoi doesn't look like he will become the top quality player that looked possible when he emerged on the scene.

The players coming from Germany are too soft for me. Very easy to rob of the ball and are easily bullied. Havertz and Pulisic are clearly very talented, but they are also very weak and haven't been trained to use their bodies well. It seems to be a common theme from players coming from Bundesliga these days, it's clearly not a very physically demanding league. Sancho is having similar problems at United, Dembele at Barcelona is also the same.
