We had 18 shots and only 2 on target....sums up our woes at the front end.   Need to really get our sh*t together and stop pissing around the 18 yard box...shoot or penetrate.

Thomas Tuchel is the first Chelsea manager to keep 3 clean sheets in his first 3 Premier League games since Jose Mourinho in his 2004-05 season; a goal was conceded in Mourinho's fourth Premier League game against Southampton, another to only keep 3 are Gullit. Now, I looked into the archive. And someone correct me if I'm wrong; but I believe if Chelsea were to achieve a clean-sheet against Sheffield United: he'd be our first manager ever to keep 4 clean sheets in his first 4 Premier League games. G'wan Tommy break a club record!

 

NOTE: "First 4 Premier League games" I also mean general league games

We had 2 shots on goal...hardly scary when you think about it.  

I've got to say, we're definitely more positive in possession. Kovacic has really impressed me with his intent and drive, unfortunately he has the shooting prowess of Obi.

Very frustrated to watch us slow it down once we get to within sniffing distance of the penalty box. Take a shot, take the opponent on.

Always lovely to beat these, so I'm thrilled overall. But we let them keep themselves in it with our indecision up top.

Hopefully the positive effect that Tuchel has had, can continue and improve our attacking threat.

Did you see Tammy play last game and Giroud the game before that? lol Werner at least touches the ball.Those 2 just watched most of the game.

I really worry that our two holding midfield options are a combined 7 feet tall. I think we desperately need a bigger body in there like we used to have with Matic and Spurs have with Hojbjerg, City have with Fernandinho, Fabinho and Henderson at Liverpoo, etc. We are really lacking that intimidating presence in midfield.

I remember once against Fulham away under Sarri.

Jose has lost more home games in the league with Spurs than he did over both spells here.

Yes Tammy had a poor 45 minutes but when you are lacking end product and have 2 genuine Centre forwards on the bench you need to find a way to get them involved. 

Both have been in better goal scoring form this season then Werner.

he did take an excellent shot against wolves two games back. Struck well, and with good technique and only just missed but it wasn’t a sitter. But yeah,  can’t think of many more  - maybe one of his two recent goals for Croatia? Tonight’s mistake was a shame as it was such a great run to get there and great overall performance.

Like you could kind of anticipate before the match we could get the ball into the penalty area but not create clear shooting opportunities. We have no outside the box threat, save potentially reece james and he doesn't score often, and we had no height or muscle in the box to get on the end of crosses. Although we were way better we were still lucky to get a result. If spuds had been in form one of those headers would have gone in.

Are we the first team to beat them twice at their new ground and Jorghinio scored against Arsenal last season in the 2-1.

I love Kova btw, one of my favourite Chelsea players, but f**k me is he frustrating in front of goal, I wish he could shoot.

Wasn't open play though, that was a free kick when he scored. But I think someone else just answered the question elsewhere, he scored from open play under Sarri.

He didn't take the free kick though so that's open play even if it was  a tap in from 3 yards.

In that case I can see us getting another forward in the summer. Giroud is 35 soon and probably leaving and I cant see us relying on Tammy.
